Completely out of nowhere Takara Tomy has revealed two new figures for the Transformers Masterpiece line. MP-44S Optimus Prime is, in fact, being sold as Optimus Prime rather than Convoy for the first time in Japan. According to Takara Tomy the name change comes in honor of the live action movie series, basically catching up with the name changes that have taken place elsewhere in the franchise for over a decade now. The new release is based on the "Ver. 3" figure minus the electronics, trailer and a lot of the accessories. The figure has how been given a '84 toy deco and even a sticker sheet to finish the look. The accessories that did get carried over from the original release are his Ion Blaster, Energon Axe, blast effect, Matrix of Leadership and the "round" head. Priced at 33,000 JPY in Japan and showing up as a pre-order for February at most Japanese online stores for a February 2024 release.
Then we've got MP-56+ Riggorus, a new Decepticon character based on a Diaclone design we haven't seen used in Transformers before. Thanks to Seibertronian Sabrblade for pointing out that this figure combines the body of Hoist with the truck cap of Trailbreaker and a new head in a mustard yellow deco. For accessories he includes two shoulder mounted guns, double barreled hand replacement guns (these guns may be interchangeable though not shown in pictures), force shield effect part and a sticker that isn't described but is likely an Decepticon symbol since one isn't seen in the pictures. He has a Japanese retail price of 24,200 JPY and expected to be out in March 2024.
As always prices will vary greatly depending on where you order, though Amazon Japan (and Deep Discount when Hasbro pre-orders open) will likely be your best bet.
Kotobukiya has revealed on Twitter the fifth figure to hit the Transformers Bishoujo line and it's none other than Starscream! And this one seems to be hitting all the right notes with fans. Her short black hair is braided around the sides to imitate the side vents, red eyes and a tan to represent the dark face of the original cartoon design, red vest and skirt with a gray shirt and yellow striped neck tie to hit all the right body colors, blue gloves and heels with white knee-highs to finish the look off. And not only are the wings represented as a tote bag, but it's slung over her shoulder to get them in the proper position. Judging from the the reactions on Twitter even non fans of the line and non-Transformers fans in general are being won over by that devious smirk of hers. The figure was designed by Shunya Yamashita with more details coming soon. Now just imagine this figure in black and blue.
In other news we have a follow up on Nemesis Prime. She was made available this past weekend at Anime Expo 2023 in California and Kotobukiya says she'll also be available at future events outside Japan that they attend such as SDCC. There's a rumor that she'll also be made available online at some point but they haven't been verified. Nemesis features a new face sculpt and replaces Prime's briefcase with her signature red sword along with a Decepticon base.
You'll let us know if someone out there is interested in this because that could be a story itself. The Chinese company Fool's Paradise is making a series of large statues featuring popular G1 Transformers characters are football players. These are official statues in collaboration with ZW World website. They are 41 cm tall and ready to order for $430.00 shipped worldwide (the statue itself is 350).
Our friends over at ThreeZero have shared the first image of their next work of art, and this time it is Rise of the Beasts Bumblebee!
ThreeZero has a good track record of Bumblebees so far, having done the Bee movie VW Bee as well as The Last Knight Bumblebee, both of which were fantastic.
This newest Bee is based on his appearance in Rise of the Beasts, and is modeled after his 1977 Camaro form. He is said to come with his battlemask and has light up eyes.
No word yet on a release date, but we will be watching for a full reveal in the coming months.

Takara Tomy is teaming up with Japan's JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, along with Toyota to create a crowdfund to produce Lunar Cruiser Prime. The figure is based on JAXA's Lunar Cruiser which will deploy from their Smart Lander for Investigating the Moon (SLIM) in August. And if you think this is Takara Tomy cashing in on a timely crossover opportunity you'd be wrong. JAXA claims they were inspired by Takara Tomy's ability to make small, complex robots and tapped them to design the SORA-Q changing robots that will also be dispatched onto the moon. How great is that? The Lunar Cruiser Prime figure itself stands around 7" tall and comes with a solar panel and antennas that can be positioned in different spots.
Obviously such a unique collaboration means some unique ways to obtain one. First there's standard purchasing when he's available at retail in late March 2024 for 11,000 JPY. But there's also a Japanese crowdfunding option through Campfire that comes with some unique perks. For 11,000 JPY through Campfire the figure will be available a month earlier in February 2024. For 14,300 you can add a stand (the same stand first seen with MP Beast Wars Megatron) with Lunar Cruiser Prime written on the side. And for 50,000 JPY you can get a special message from original Convoy/Optimus Prime and Lunar Cruiser Prime actor Tessho Genda himself. The campaign begins June 8, though it's not yet known when the retail pre-orders will open.
This is a pretty different collaboration that we really haven't seen the likes of before. No word on if Hasbro will take part in any form of sales, but we'll keep you posted as we find out more!
You know the drill, if there is an Optimus Prime figure out there, then get ready for the eventual Nemesis Prime redeco. Funny enough, it's not just for figures since the Bishoujo Transformers line is doing the same thing. An image has surfaced of the box for such a release where it will be called Decepticon Unicronian Herald Nemesis Prime. It isn't strictly a redeco as the girl has a different expression on her face, as seen in the art. This figure will be more limited than the previous one though, we see it is a limited edition on the box as well.
Our previous news of Transformers Rise of the Beasts Funko Pops had no traction and mainly negative comments. So we get it, most of the TF fans community does not like Pops. But, what if I told you one of the Rise of the Beasts Pops was ... an exclusive? That's right, Rhinox, who is in his beast mode looking rather cute, will be a Target exclusive. You can see the images below.
Anyone reading this a Pops fan? Well if you are, then you'll love this news. We now have images from Funko themselves about the set made for the Transformers Rise of the Beasts film. However, they are based on older designs, which is most apparent with Mirage and Primal. Let us know if you will be getting any.

Coming in hot this Tuesday morning, we have some big news to share-literally! Legacy Titan Class Nemesis is finally revealed in all her purple glory. Via an article on IGN, we get several official product shots, showcasing the largest Decepticon toy and female Transformer ever produced. According to the article, she stands right around 23 1/2 inches, which puts her a couple of inches taller than Earthrise Scorponok (and his Black Zarak retool). She's shown in ship mode as well, faithfully recreating the look of the Decepticon flagship from the G1 cartoon. We even get a look at her box art, which shows her EvoFusion gimmick of having parts of her shins and ship mode wings being able to detach and form weapons for her to wield.
She is currently up for preorder at all the usual online retailers, as well as Hasbro Pulse.
