eBay.com- eBay seller,
joeyyamamoto, has a listing up for the soon to be released Transformers Animated two-pack of Jetstorm and Jetfire.
These images show the packaging in great detail, including the characters' bios.
"Created using the most advanced techniques known to AUTOBOT science, JETSTORM and JETFIRE were cloned from tech recovered from STARSCREAM. Brought online in a secret laboratory deep beneath CYBERTRON, they are the first AUTOBOTS created specifically to battle the DECEPTICONS. Though they are young, they are extremely intelligent, working their way through the Elite Guard Boot Camp in record time. Together they are potentially the most powerful AUTOBOTS of all time, especially when they combine into their SAFEGUARD form."
"Galactic Powers & Abiliites:
>The only AUTOBOTS that can fly.
>Youngest Elite Guard members of all time.
>The first robots with the ability to combine."

Toyark.com- This online toy shop has something very interesting featured. Apparently, they have been given a sneak peek and a description of the new upcoming leader class
Optimus Prime figure for the new movie
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. It seems to feature a new gimmick, as well as, many other goodies.
Beware the description and image below may contain movie spoilers!
"We have our first, small glimpse at the all new Leader size class Optimus Prime figure from the upcoming Transformers:Revenge of the Fallen movie toyline! Not only is this figure much more accurate than the Leader Optimus Prime figure from the 2007 movie toyline, it will also feature:
-double Snap Out Energy Swords
-Electronic Speech
-Light Up Eyes and Chest
-Engine Revving and Truck Racing Sounds
-Automatic Conversion Sounds
-Mech Alive gimmick(might be similar to automorphing)"

ACtoys.net- The red scout-sized Revenge of the Fallen Decepticon car had a few names associated with it. Most recently it was decided based on
eBay auctions that it should be called
Detour.
cmg at
ACtoys has other ideas. He has proof that the toy is named one of the more popular choices... Dead End.
What is his proof you might ask? None other than an image of the instruction sheet featuring the name for the bot formerly know as Laserbeak, Detour, and now DEAD END.
You can view the original
ACtoy thread
here, which has a nice set of pictures of
Dead End, but as you scroll down also reveals the picture of the name on the instructions also uploaded below.

Walmart- A poster at TFW2005 has found both
Universe Dinobot and
Universe Smokescreen at retail in a
Walmart in
North Carolina.
The poster,
raltherr, states that he was able to purchase both toys although there was difficulty with Smokescreen. Apparently, he was not in the computer yet.
"I found Universe Smokescreen and Dinobot in a local Wal-mart today. I didn't think they were due until March. When I brought them to the register Dinobot rang up fine. Smokescreen was not in their system. After about 45 minutes the manager rang up the Smokescreens as TFA Bumblebees. Then they pulled the remaining stock off the pegs. I'm not sure if this was a mistake with Hasbro sipping early or Wal-marts distribution. But they have been purchased by me in North Carolina. I have attached a few pics. One is in Wal-mart, the other is in my house. I didn't scan the receipt because Smokescreen wouldn't ring up anyway. And I don't want to get anybody at Wal-mart in trouble if they weren't supposed to sell them."
Smokescreen UPC: 653569376057
Dinobot UPC: 563569371007

TF Club reveals a few new images of the upcoming Knock Out figure from the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen toy line. Just after first seeing
Roll Bar in-package a few days ago, we may now see Knock Out and his bio here.
And for you’re reading convenience, his bio may also be read below:
“
Though he is an incredibly flashy and skilled fighter, KNOCK OUT is also desperately insecure. He practices awesome combat maneuvers constantly in private to be sure that the other AUTOBOTS will notice him on the battlefield. His highest ambition is to be the leader of a special combat team, and to get the combination retrofit everyone has been talking about.”

Thanks to some friends of mine I was able to get my hands on the Universe Wave 4 Deluxe figures about a month or so before they hit the big three here in Canada. Much to my surprise and happiness the new figures are on unique cards with individual card art on the front and tri-lingual bio's on the back. This was hinted at by Hasbro Canada this past year at TFCon in Ontario.
Well who cares you might ask? Mexico, Quebec and the rest of Canada. That's who.
For almost two years we've been backed into a corner so to speak when it comes to our hobby of collecting Transformers. For all of you in the States or across the sea you get clean, character focused box and card art. The three mentioned above get very generic packaging and has slowly slipped down a slope of quality to the point of no images on the boxes other then cross-sells on the back as seen
here in an old news article from when Wave 1 was released in Canada.
Here are a few pictures, albeit blurry of two of the four new figures on their new tri-lingual packages. This is indeed a great treat for Transformers Collectors that keep figures MISB/MOSC or hold on to the boxes after opening the figures much like myself.
Here's to a great 2009 to our friends collecting Transformers with the new and improved packaging!
