Though, Nautica did get carried over into the new comics, but yeah, that was on IDW's part rather than Hasbro's, so another toy of her isn't likely either.

I wouldn't say that, now that we have selects we can get more niche characters, just need some patience for the line to get broken in

IDW 1.0 over or not there’s only so many Titans to go around. It’d just be cool to see them take an opportunity to do something new and fresh with the scale. I would love to see Chela in a base mode and that Caminus spacefaring mode is so slick.

What I mean is, her presence in the new comics isn't tied to any forthcoming Hasbro toy, as her design was a product of the artist making it up from aspects of both her IDW1 design and her Titans Return toy.

Metroplex last came out in 2013, not counting the overpriced limited run Tamara reissue last year. It goes for around $500 on the secondary market. I can't be alone in wanting a Metroplex reissue or even a new mold before going to the deep bench.

I frequently see comments like, "We already got X, make a SG version of some obscure Japanese character instead!" I mean, not all of us "got" all those guys the first time around. I've only begun collecting again since Titans Return, but I'm in deep now.

While you do make a good point (I.e. The availability of the older Titans) its a tightrope act for Hasbro as they have to balance the wants of the collectors who they know will already have the character, the wants of the newer collectors/collectors who missed the first time, and of course kids who just want kick ass toys.

Personally I'd rather new over old as there's only so many times you can do the old characters

From what I gather, Hasbro is trying to find the sweet spot between reinterpreting the old while introducing the new or obscure in a similar style. It's working pretty well if Prime Wars was anything to go by.

The thing about Titan-class toys is their sheer size makes them rather expensive in terms of both development and materials costs, and gives them a correspondingly huge price tag for buyers. HasTak would have to be preeetty sure of demand before committing to making a new mold (or even a heavy retool) for one of the IDW-original Titans. The most likely one of those to be done IMO would be Quintessa (probably in his in Necrotitan colors), since he A. had a major role and B. could be done as a redeco of Metroplex. But even then there would almost certainly be an "(X) Preorders Required" threshold needed to get him green-lit. I mean, they did that for LGEX Grand Maximus and he was a significant show character!
I would personally prefer Metrotitan to Quintessa, though, and think he's probably more likely. And hey, while Metrotitan isn't an IDW-original he is one of the major Titans in the IDW storyline (heck, he got a bigger role there than he did in the Zone stuff he originates from). Even if he wound up with the wrong colors in the comics.

I used to think that till I found out Siege Brunt is based on the 2005 IDW Centurion Droid design

Brunt is a weird case because he had no robot mode so maybe Hasbro just went around fishing for old, unused designs until they found one they liked.

So I thought I had hit the jack pot, having spotted Siege Springer at a Target just outside Greensboro, NC. When I went to checkout, it stated that I could not purchase the item. After having a manger came to my aid, they stated that it could not be sold until later in July. Apparently it was put out on the shelf by mistake, right! :-( :-( :-(
I was totally baffled and very upset. I have never heard of that.
Of note, from a Walmart in Charlotte, NC, I finally found Laserbeak and Ravage.

What I've noticed is that if you see the new Wave 3 guys at Target, Target blocks the buy and enforces the street date. Walmart doesn't care, it's ready to go there.

For all you UK Seibertronians, I bring you great hunting news. The newest Leader Class release for Transformers War for Cybertron Siege has been found in two different Symths Toy Stores!

Fellow Seibertron user, CyclonusG1, found and purchased his from the Longton Symths store in London. He even provided the picture of his purchase.

Image

The second toy was found in the Northampton Symths Toy Store by fellow Seibertron user, Crumplezone.

The Leader Class Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime is a retool of Siege Leader Class Ultra Magnus, designed to represent a new version of the original Leader Class Optimus Prime from the Cybertron toyline and cartoon.

Are you hunting for this figure for your collection? Have you already been lucky enough to snag him? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

We talk a good bit about almost everything in this line except the cool fire last effects: has anyone been having a “blast” with these? No, I couldn’t help myself.

They’re great on the weapons but does anyone have them displayed with the effects acting as blaster damage?

For me it was fun for a few but quickly lost its magic. I don’t really mind the extra plugs all over but I’d be fine if they phased the ‘damage’ plugs out.

I can't have them out because the cat will attack them. I have done periodic displays, but there's a little variance, so not all parts work with all figures.

Once I get a little space, I want to set up a large Siege display using all of the available effects parts.

I like it, but I find it undercut by most of the blast effects being shots rather than impacts. Also the lack of purple shots, and the small amount available overall.

I wish they would sell variety bags of just the blast pieces.

If that’s what he meant I don’t mind it I think it looks cool.

I do love the classic chest piece as it always made me think of a faux parts front end of a car like even though he’s super different than the rest he’s still an auto-bot.

I do think if Hasbro never gets around to "blast packs" they're really missing a prime opportunity. Even if it was just a big Christmas pack or something!

Has anyone who's been do the trade shows been able to confirm if there's anything going on with Omega's shins? I still feel like there's some playability features they haven't shown... which boggles my mind. Are they really just solid (or hollow) w/o hatches or play features? Seems like a missed opportunity.

As far as other Titans... as sad as it would be... I'd much rather Hasbro/Takara take an honest re-do on Fort Max with the G1 figure in mind.... cheating and rebuilding off of Metroplex felt like it robbed him of being truly amazing. Though a redone Metro I wouldn't say no to.

Curious if the Selects Line will give us Omega Sentinel recolors.

It would be kinda nice. That said, I think the Metroplex retool one could be improved with some further retools:
* New or tweaked lower legs that have the below-knee pivot. This is the big one - it would allow his legs to be configured as per the original in city mode.
* Clips or a flip-open panel on the right side of the chest so that Cerebros can attach in communications room mode as per the original toy.
* ^Corresponding closure of the top of the central tower and adding a proper cockpit there.
* 5mm port on the central section of the chest
* Feet with cavities for SIEGE Gasket and Grommet (Wishful thinking I know)
WANT:
* Cybertron Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Cyb Jetfire R gun and missile
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* DotM Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* ROTF Jetfire R JTFR panel
