I suspect that during the film's delay they made a few changes to the movie that figures and merch were too far into production to alter like the battle mask and VW Bee's big wing doors. Even the MP and Sideshow's statue had the big wings as well early movie posters at promotional art. Changes definitely happened at some point. Maybe he was supposed to have the mask on Cybertron originally but they decided the mask plus the new name was too much for is first appearance so the mask got dropped in favor of him using it later in his Jeep body and Hasbro is using outdated reference material?

Could be, but it feels beyond amateurish if that's the reason for inaccuracy on a toy released 2 years later.

Yeah, the VW Bee being based on early designs I can understand, given how close to the film's release those VW Bee toys came out. But this? This is coming out so far after the film's release, having been used twice before already for the Jeep Bee and Cliffjumper toys. No way was this B-127 mold "too far into production" three years ago; more like it was first developed well after the film and they just gave it the battle mask just to distinguish it more from other BB movie Bee toys in the line.

I’m actually really digging it so far, the figure’s pretty cool even if the satellite mode isn’t as robust as it should be, and I love the stand and backdrop. Takes me back to the ROTF game!

Great choice! I am still debating myself if I want to get SS69. The main thing holding me off is that I already have 2 of each constructicon (3 of a few) and also that I really only want the mixmaster and box from the SS69. The upgrade kit is also fantastic and really helps to finish him off. He is probably my favorite TF figure in my entire collection. (sorry for the bad picture, the window behind him is messing it up)

I'm really looking forward receiving the team. I've been putting off getting the ROTF Constructicons for far too long. Seeing both the upgrade kit and the set at normal retail was the trigger I needed. Fingers crossed for no custom fees.

While you're at it, you could get the SS69 set anyway. There's deco difference and you could have the combiner surrounded by the bot versions AND the vehicles versions. Thu would be one hell of an epic display!

I didn't say anything about B-127 being too far into production, that would be dumb. I said all that stuff about the VW Bee to explain how tweaks were made during production. At some point B-127 may have had the mask, it got dropped at some point in the movie and Hasbro is still using the old production art to give him the mask. I'm not saying I'm right, just that it's as viable a theory as any. Have we even seen production art for B-127?

Hmmm, I didn't think of that. I have no interest in that Soundwave as I just don't care about the satellite mode. But I didn't think of the stand. Now I might bite if I can find one cheap enough.

B-127 is pretty cool! The leg panels don’t plug in and are pretty annoying, but I don’t have many complaints apart from that.

I like the design, it feels more WFC/FOC than anything else.

If those are Bumblebee Ratchet, Brawn, Wheeljack, and Soundwave, I'm intrigued. Ratchet and Wheeljack are the most exciting for me (hoping the faces are better than the greebled mess that Cliffjumper's was), and I'm interested in seeing how they do Soundwave

List of Studio Series Toys coming in 2022 Including more 86 and more "G1" Bumblebee Movie Bots

Postby william-james88 » Sun May 02, 2021 9:05 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
So we aren't even at half the year yet but we now know which toys are due out in stores in the first quarter of 2022. This would be what people call "wave 1" of a given year and it may start appearing at the tail end of this year, we never know. As previously confirmed, Hasbro is mixing 86 bots with live action bots.

Here is the breakdown:

Deluxe:
Tra Gen Studio series Deluxe TF6 Brawn
UPC: 195166158516

Tra Gen Studio series deluxe TF6 Ratchet
UPC: 195166158532

Tra Gen studio series deluxe 86 Perceptor
UPC: 195166158556

Tra Gen studio series deluxe TF6 Wheeljack
UPC: 195166160016

Voyagers:
Tra Gen Studio series voyager TF6 Soundwave
UPC: 195166153438

Tra Gen Studio series voyager 86 Junkyard
UPC: 195166158525

LEADER:
Tra Gen studio series leader 86 King Starscream cape
UPC: 195166153421

TF6 refers to the Bumblebee movie, so it would be toys based on those G1-ish designs. Junkyard would be using the Wreck Gar mold that is not revealed yet. Starscream is rumoured to be a retool of Voyager Earthrise Starscream with extra accessories like a cape. So it would be another case of a voyager with extra accessories being sold at the leader price point.

We thank Mr Chaos for those UPC numbers and Autobot N for letting us know.

And what accessories might jack the price of a Voyager Starscream up to Leader price point? Will said cape be enough?

OR, in the tradition of both leader Dinobots coming with a bonus non-transforming figure, will they throw in an entire second Starscream? Specifically, a charcoal-colored-crumbling-to-ash Starscream that can also wear the crown?!?

I mean, we've already gotten a ton of coronation Starscreams, starting back in the PVC days, so the SS'86er has to do something extra to stand out.

Hopefully, this means Brawn, Ratchet, Soundwave, etc, will be in the best movie and have altmodes this time. I realize they're listed as TF6 figures, but they didn't transform. BB Starscream did, had an altmode, even though he wasn't on screen for long.

Agreed!

I'm still happy with my T30 blitzwing but I gave him an upgrade kit with an idw-styled head. If ss86 blitzwing happens down the line I'll be sorely tempted though

I really did not think that a wave could be so boring. I'll get the preceptor so that I can replace the RTS one on my wreckers shelf, but the rest I really do not care for at all. But I will probably still get them only for collection sakes. Hopefully we get some Bayverse figures revealed/leaked soon, I need a leader class The Fallen! All this G1 pandering is driving me crazy.

But I will probably still get them only for collection sakes. Hopefully we get some Bayverse figures revealed/leaked soon, I need a leader class The Fallen! All this G1 pandering is driving me crazy.

Half the figures listed are for the Bumblebee movie, not G1, unless you're against those, too.

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing everything listed between my love of G1 and my renewed interest in collecting Bee movie characters.

I want to get something straight, I am not against any type of Transformers (except maybe Beast wars since I just don't like seeing real type animals turn into robots. Magmatron is the one exception to this). I definitely have a preference towards Bayverse, since it is what I grew up with and is what pops up to me when I first think of what transformers are. I am just getting tired of seeing so many redo's of the G1 designs (I count BB movie in this since they are just G1 with more lines), while a lot of the Bayverse stuff still may not even have a figure ever made yet. There are maybe 20 more Bayverse figures that I would like to see made and it would probaly take a year (or maybe two if they are slow) for Hasbro to finish them off. For the BB movie figures, I wish that it got its own line back in 2018-19 to dump out all these figures (instead of the energon igniters line).
