The green shelves are actually parts of a tree I built. If you look at the first pic, you can just make out the trunk back in the corner...

I can just make it out :)...hard to see the Trees for the Forest (of TFS) LOL

Cobotron wrote:Donny, FYI, those are the Dioder LED pucks from Ikea. They are awesome. Nice and bright, and have a really wide beam.

They look kewl, are they wired or battery operated? I will have to look for those the next time I get to Ikea. I only saw the strip version when I went last time.

Wired just like the Dioder strips you have. Power supply - 4 way junction - lights. they can't be daisy chained though. They come with really nice 2 sided adhesive disks. For glass shelves, I would guess.

That's the one. I have the Fox Kids repaint, in the second pic. He had the best 3rd vehicle mode out of that whole line. I liked how it was a F15ish jet that harkened back to a Seeker look.

Donny - I'm tellin' ya, I bet you would like Beast Wars. You gotta kind of grit your teeth and push through the first season (or at least the 1st half of it), but it's worth it. Animation is pretty dated, but a good marker of where CG came from and how far it has come.

True dat. Season 1 has a lot of filler being 24 episodes, whereas season 2-3 are 24 episodes together. If you are so inclined, I could give you a widdled down list of essential season 1 episodes to watch ;)^

Hi-a Donny,
I've thought that too about the Collect-O-Tron.
I've always thought my signature pic had kind of a go-karts on the "Boardwalk" feel, a la Santa Monica Pier, or Steel Pier in Atlantic City. Or worse, The Lake of the Ozarks! The C-O-Tron is either a ride or a house of curiosities type attraction.
Pay a quarter, see the freaks!

Ya. Nothing new for a minute. I was outta town for a spell.
But, sit tight. I'll go get some stuff. ;)

Love it! Computron was always a fav! The Astrotrain bomb pop is genius!

my last analogy to the thread name "Donny! Come on down! And take spin on the collect-o-tron!"

Hopefully being out of town was enjoyable, vaca? I'll be going out of town in a few weeks for work to TX. Can almost taste the BBQ...yeehaw!

What are you using as a background? A curved piece of poster board? Also, anything special about the lighting? It's very lovely.

Computron was my only complete combiner as a kid. And that's the one.
I was in LA for my best friend's surprise bacholer party. It was a blast!
Enjoy all that tasty beefy goodness down in the lone star state. :D

BTW - the Great Stuff rocks look, well...GREAT!

Indeed. Just poster board I bought at target taped to the empty box Platinum Predaking came in.
I take the pics at my drawing table where I have a mounted drafting/drawing light on an arm. I also use some batt. powered LED work lights for extra umpf. I usually take the shots into Photoshop and tweak the contrast and brightness. Sometimes I adjust the colors too.

:-$ I'm just using my iPhone to shoot. ;)

BTW - Lovin' your current Combiner Wars battle scene you have set up. ;)^

Cool cool. I'll need to keep an eye out for some lights like that. Never even considered battery powered. Great idea; maybe I can find some that have a clamp mount.

I have an iPhone for work and it does take the superior pictures. Makes me want to replace my trusty S3.

Thanks for keeping an eye on my lil collection. I need to post a few more pictures, but I've been lazy this week.

I wanted to share and talk about my latest haul. It's kind of a doozy!
For me anyway.

Image

Let's start with,
Exhaust.
He comes with a great story. I went to China Town L.A. hunting for MP KOs. I know, KOs you say!?!?
Look I have spent the last 20 years shelling out all my hard earned dough to Hasbro. Between my TF collection and my Star Wars collection, I don't think Hasbro is gonna mind.
Anyway, back to the story. No KOs were found, but Exhaust was. I never intended on getting this guy because it just seemed like it would be too much work. Low and behold there he was, just starring at me. So you better believe I scooped him up! I had a handful of Hello Kitty goodies for my preschooler back home so I decided to try to haggle. It worked. They knocked ten bucks off the price. So the very taboo MP Exhaust for $60? Sold. American!!!!
Shajaki had made a comment that I "fell bass ackwards into a pile of Exhausts". Well sorta.

The figure is GREAT! I'm a big fan of Wheeljack, but dare I say, I like this use a little better? There are just some subtle differences that really set it off. The blue translucent used in the headlights and wings looks fantastic, and the head sculpt is a old school Takara HOME RUN!!!!

Sometimes an accident is the best thing that can happen. ;)

ROAR
Wow! I really really really like this guy. Dino mode is Fantastic! Big and bulky, clumsy like the OG. The colors are great. The plastic used is really nice. The gold chrome looks good and feels solid. Robot mode looks even better. The guy is huge! Imposing! The esthetic, IMO, fits right in with what I think the Classics update of the Dinobots should be. Very Takara in my eyes.
The figure does have some short comings though. The issue with the red plates that form his torso to shoulder region is kinda annoying. They don't lock into place, so they rotate every time you go to pose the arms. The other thing that bugs me is thigh swivel joint is placed just above the knees instead of farther up the thigh. This makes bending his knees with any swivel imposable. It really cuts down on the dynamics I'd hoped to get out of his poses.

This is my first ever 3rd party toy. 20 years of collecting, and I've held off. I'm really happy with the figure, but I gotta admit, I'm having some strange feelings. Like I did something wrong, or betrayed an old friend. I'm also having a hard time swallowing the price. I understand all the factors that go into pricing these 3P toys, but Roar really costs 3 times what he should, or could. Any of you guys who dabble in 3P had this feeling?

All that being said, I can't wait to get my hands on Muddy and the rest of this crew. Really looking forward to not-Slag. The combined form will be GIAMUNGATOID!!!!   :michaelbay:

Ultra Magnus

What do I really need to say about this guy? He is just F#@$ING AWESOME! I mean AWESOME! I have no complaints about him. His transformation is a thing of beauty. It could have been so tedious, but it's actually FUN! I don't even care about the shoulder thing or the no waist swivel.
I saved up for 6 months for this guy. He was so worth the wait. The best Transformer I've bought this year! Hands down.

Thanks for humoring my musings y'all.
I sure love this hobby. ;)^

Right?! I've ended up liking my oddball MP's more than my slavish cartoon accurate ones. My Exhaust, Tigertrack, Soundblaster, YOTG Prime, King Grim.... seriously I like them all more than the "proper" ones.

Yeah.... it's just the nature of the beast. There's very few 3P purchases that I've actually regretted. But I usually make DAYUM sure I won't regret it before I finally fork over the cash.

Hands down.
I got worried when I promoted UM to donny and you. Everyone's different, and even though I love him doesn't mean others will. So I'm relieved you both ended up happy with him cause he's one expensive bugger

BTW, I loooove your UM/Exhaust pics ;)^
