Well...doesn't that suck? :-(

I still don't get why he simply doesn't have an intact turret on his back like the original did so those arms could go into filling in the gaps in the other modes. It seems like the designers just don't care about filling in the hollow chunks anymore.

I can see why they don't make that many triple changers any more. Transformation is a finicky mess.

I'm still getting him regardless since Lugnut needs his pal.

Way to dash all our hopes and dreams, Hasbro. :-(

I'll still pick him up, only for the sake of Springer having a nemesis (outside of Octane and Astrotrain) and adding another tank to the collection.

I hope and pray to God they get their shit together and fix all those problems.

One Word- Devastated

I removed my BBTS preorder and will not be searching for this figure. I'm really saddened by Hasbro's total lack of quality control and execution of this figure. I can only imagine that Springer will me much worse. A rubber nose cone and misaligned parts all around?...are you kidding me!! :-x Sorry BBTS...maybe I'll save that money for Metroplex. :BOT:

Not just the clips at the shoulders. "Tabs" in jet mode do not tab in like they are supposed to, the nosecone is apparently a bitch to transform into either vehicle mode, uneven tank treads, he can barely hold his gun, and possibly more.

But he stands pretty well, and he has RhA's originally-named "dongsword" that he has no trouble wielding, so there's a couple of positives...

Ha ha ha ha. He's FREAKING OUT because those tabs won't lock in.

Personally, I'm thinking that's a woulda-been-nice-if-they-tabbed-in. While not perfect, I think all three modes are looking fantastic. Thinking with the new info it would be getting an 8/10 instead of a 10. :-?

I appreciate the honest review though. I'll make sure not to be drinking too much coffee when I tackle ole Blitzwing. >:oP

Sorry to say but they usually don't. Once the mold is set and the plastics are chosen that's it. All we can hope for is that it'll look better.

Either way, this will look great on the shelf.

I also have a pretty snazzy idea for a custom out of this guy. Makes me wonder if they have any repaints in store with a new head, etc. Overcharge anyone? Shattered Glass?

Overcharge, yes.

Shattered Glass? Possibly, but not for straight-up retail. Try BotCon exclusive.

Wow, so much pessimism and negativity based on one review.

Personally, I will break out the Xacto knife when I get mine to fix those mishapen pegs, and use my usual methods to stiffen any other loose or tight joints, pegs, etc.

I am still very excited for this guy!

Yeah, I was just curious for interest regarding repaints. I know any SG version would be for the club or Botcon.

Has SG Blitzwing ever appeared anywhere in fiction?

Glad to hear Springer is better!

Those in-hand photos we saw the other day look much better than this. (Jet mode in particular)

I've watched his reviews for years now, and he's the king of mistransformation. I like his reviews.. But sometime he just doesn't get everything quite right, which then skews his opinion of the figure.

I'd like to see what peaugh has to say.

I don't see a problem with all three modes. They look great to me , and any "problem' that it does have , doesn't seem to be that bad. . I think we need to remember that we are being just being ridiculous, nitpicky 30 year olds with such a dorky hobby. I can find problems with any transformer mold that I have that are just as bad as this. This beats any "movie " figure by the way. Again, this is just my opinion. I also notice how the reviewer screwed up the head mechanism as well. I'm reading that people are cancelling orders and such. That's stupid. I'd say wait, till you see like 1 0r 2 more reviews. Or just by the figure and return it, simple as that. This is a classic case of Hasbro giving us what we want, then we get all nitpicky and bitchy about little things; then, sales go down, so we end up with more crappy figures and repaints that we didn't ask for. I'd rather experience the transformation for myself actually. Good review though!

Is ol' Blitzy perfect? No. Am I still picking him up? Yes.

Say what you want, but he is a FAR better looking figure than Animated's Voyager. So his jet mode is lacking. That's fine, I need a new tank for my collection anyways.
Re: Video Review: Transformers Generations Voyager Class Blitzwing (1480410)
Posted by Azmodeus on April 19th, 2013 @ 7:40pm CDT
I'll probably still buy it since I usually only take a figure through it's transformation once from robot to alt mod and then display it in whichever I like better. The reviewer points out my biggest complaint with all of the recent figures and that is the thin and low quality plastic. It would be interesting to know the average age of the individual buying the voyager and larger figures because I'm of the opinion that it's mostly the adult collectors like me. I'd gladly pay more, say $30-40 for a quality voyager figure that had some weight to it and didn't feel like it was going to break from using it.

Oh no, I'm done trying to self fix these guys. I just picked up a second Kickback today because I tried sanding the abdomen tips on the first one so the halves connected better and instead made the whole thing worse.

And I'm actually not that picky when it comes to this stuff but when I hear talk about whole modes being a floppy mess and plastic that fells like it may break any second, I get edgy.

I'm still grabbing him but I hope I'm just assuming the worse based on this review.

I think the reviewer's being way too harsh...

Hopefully its just his that doesn't lock in but even it's not I'm getting this figure.

Comparing it to that Animated version doesn't help his case in my book, I hated that line!

The figure looks like it's a C or C+

3.5 out 5 which is still cool in my book.
Re: Video Review: Transformers Generations Voyager Class Blitzwing (1480424)
Posted by NTESHFT on April 19th, 2013 @ 8:37pm CDT
This has become a bit of a conundrum for me.

As an adult, I'm looking at this figure thinking'"Do I want to pay 22 bucks for this with all the problems it seems to have?". But then I think back to when I was a kid playing with my Transformers and realizing how much less I worried about some of the same issues I had back then- the Constructicons not holding up in Devastator mode, the arm to Swoop breaking with nit even a little force being used when pulling it out (giggity), Jazz not being able to stand up straight,....etc,etc- and I wonder why I'm going to have a heart attack over this. I mean, because of these similar issues when i was a kid, it made me take better care of my beloved toys.

Maybe me being leery of buying it is simply because, as an adult, I should be making more sound decisions on my purchases. But then again, it's a toy, so I'm just gonna blow that sound decision out of the water. Is this the best one Hasbro has ever done-no. there are issues, but i'm gonna treat it like the others in my collection- with the utmost care.

Plus, in my opinion, this one is far better than the Animated Blitzwing. I do like the Generations alt modes better than the Animated one. I especially didn't like the way the tracks were so visible in tank mode.......

That was a great review, though. It definitely gave me a heads up on what to expect and where to be most careful.

Watch more of Baltmatrix's videos, then come back. It's rare when he criticizes a figure.

Hopefully its just his that doesn't lock in but even it's not I'm getting this figure.

Then brace for disappointment; Baltmatrix isn't the only one to get a defective unit.

Heresy! Get out now!

Initially, I would have scored him nine or ten (on a scale of 1-10), but due to the recent reviews, I'm giving him the same scoring.

Pre ordered the Takara version. Fyi, its just shy of Y400 from the recent MP releases. Hopefully the colors and plastics would be improved. (Yup, compare Takara "Prime" to the Hasbro "Prime" and you'd understand my meaning)

The Toy Fair pictures show him with the holes on the front of his shoulders. Would rotating them 180 degrees allow them to peg? Might they be swapped L-R?

The soft plastic nosecone really disappoints, especially because it's the whole piece and not just the grey part. But the jet mode reminds me too much of the Alpha fighter from Robotech (Genesis Climber Mosepeada), so that alone gives me a reason to pick it up. Not the home run a lot were hoping for, but I still think it's well worth the 20-22 bucks at retail.

I don't think any "CHUGS" figure is worse than Universe Galvatron.

Hell I think that hollow bellied FOC Grimlock is more of a disappointment than this Blitzwing figure is.

The picture you are talking about has the figure transformed incorrectly. Those holes need to be facing behind the figure and sadly they have nothing to do with how the arm is connected to the chest.

Maybe it's just me but it looked like there were some clips on the arms that attach to the inside of the turret as well as those front pegs. I won't be sure until I get it in hand.

I'm not too stressed about this review. You can buy 5 of these guys and the odds of them being all the same as far as tight joints and such are really 50/50. Some times toys have some prominent defects/flaws but alot of times it's a figure to figure basis. It's just the nature of mass production. %99.99999 accurate is not %100 accurate. They are only machines.

And not to discredit the reviewer but I think he's just a little intimidated by the plastic. Which is why I quoted YoungPrime above. I was super let down with U Galv. Wonky, floppy arm was horrible.

Well, I was good and drunk about a month ago and was playing with him as I was doing a little shelf re-organizing and I found a spot that arm tabs onto. You just need to put some ass behind it.

Normally i'm also intimidated by the plastic but I was drunk and didn't care. Galvatron is great now. Next time you're playing with him, be a little more assertive in your actions and you should get him to shape up for you.

I'm thinking that this video is an example of that. I'm certainly in no hurry to trash $20+ so I can see how it happens. I've found that my TFs are pretty durable even though some would appear otherwise. I've had a few TF's that I thought just "laid or rested". Eventually I find the spots that line/tighten things up. Now, I'll admit there are some that I've accepted as layers but they seem few and far between. I got my 2 3-piecers on pre-order and can not wait.
Re: Video Review: Transformers Generations Voyager Class Blitzwing (1480482)
Posted by Sodan-1 on April 20th, 2013 @ 2:29am CDT
I wasn't sold on the design of this figure to begin with, so that review certainly hasn't convinced me to purchase. It's good to see a reviewer not mince his words about a figure and tell it how it is.

That being said, so many issues with tabs and pegs not aligning, I have to wonder if there is indeed a bit of mis-transformation in there somewhere. However, that probably wouldn't explain the looseness of the shoulders or the difficulty in locking the nose cone in place.

Uber pass.
Re: Video Review: Transformers Generations Voyager Class Blitzwing (1480486)
Posted by Azmodeus on April 20th, 2013 @ 3:16am CDT
The really sad part is that these triple changers are the lead off figures for the 30th anniversary and are the first ones to carry that branding. Hasbro has the opportunity to make something really special out of that landmark or put out low quality product that almost certainly will not last until the 40th anniversary. Why not choose to make something to be proud of?

What makes you think Metroplex will be much better? He'll have a simpler transformation for sure which will help but he'll probably still have thin, rubbery plastic all over him and some suspect engineering.

Blitzwing basically sums up all of Hasbro's cost cutting, margin raising measures in one craptastic figure. He's been engineered to use the least amount of plastic possible as will most of the future Hasbro/TT releases I fear (looking at you FOC Bruticus and Grimlock). Clearly the days of the great Classics/Generations figures are probably over.

its not that bad, the reviewer is over exagerating because he does not like it. half the problems are with just his, a pictorial review over on TFW the reviewer loves it and said to buy it. also baltmatrix said his hands cant move? yeah ok, so hasbro just gave blitzwing wrist swivels for decoration. we have 2 reviews of blitzbrains and both have two completely different feelings about him. i for one am not changing my mind about buying him. he still looks awesome and i will love everything about the toy. they toy only has one really problem and its not that bad, it can be prevented if you hold his shoulder parts in place while you move his arms its not that troublesome. We have complained for so long about not having a blitzwing and when we get one we complain about the littlest things wrong with it and dont want it. wtf guys

If you don't like it, don't spend your money! Hasbro could be looking at these reactions and decide to cancel all other triple changers we could possibly get in the future because people keep bashing the ones they're providing us. I'm still getting him. His minor problems can be fixed and I know MOST people will probably just display him in robot mode anyways.

Ill probally just mod the tabs so they lock into place. This guy does have some legit complaints about the figure. But I also see some of it as coming off rather petty. My biggest complaint about the figure is that it should have been a deluxe to scale with Astrotrain and Octane. But Ill still be happy to own him.

Now that I've seen the review, I don't understand why everyone's complaining so much. It's a big, well-designed figure that looks really cool and for once doesn't look like it's missing half its paint apps. So some things don't peg in quite right, big deal, I'll still get it and I'm sure I'll love it. I personally think it looks better than the Animated version and I like that figure too.

If you go to a restaurant and they serve you a meal that is ruined for some reason will you still eat it or will you complain? Feel free to buy it. No one cares. And Hasbro appreaciates. But if you never complain about something you do not like, how will they know your opinion?
We Tansformers collectors and fans deserve more from Hasbro. We should not represent only numbers. If it weren't for us HASBRO would go bankrupt.
I will not fill no ones pockets for a bad quality figure just because they threw it up in the stores
