Such things are nothing compared to missing parts or a bot with two right legs.
2017. Never again.
My first siege Springer was missing a right front wheel (bought from Pulse). Second Springer (from amazon) has all his wheels but a yellow over spray on his helicopter roof assembly. Also each one had very different tolerances in the various joints and panel clips.
He’s first figure i’ve had with glaring issues... besides first run ironhide’s loose leg panels and Starscream’s chesr.

Most likely they wanted to have some sort of familiar decos to use for the molds' redecos, but also probably wanted to have an equal number of Autobot and Decepticon weapon pairs in the whole Siege line (seven pairs of each), and so made Cratermaker and Fireline into a new Decepticon team.Wolfman Jake wrote:Can one of the Transformers lore keepers here explain to me why Cratermaker and Fireline look exactly like Powerbomb and Gunlift from Japanese G1 (Zone), but are branded here as Decepticons instead of the Autobots they originally were?
Though, back in 1990-1991, Takara sold nearly all of the Decepticon Micromaster teams as Autobots instead, so this new Micromaster team colored like two Japanese-exclusive Autobot Micromaster decos but sold by Hasbro as Decepticons is kinda like an inverse of how Takara made almost everyone into an Autobot in Japan back in the early 90s.

That's got to be one of the most convoluted, weirdest homages Hasbro has done with a repaint. Wow.

It's just conjucture, really. For all we know, they were like:
"We need redeco ideas"
"What about those Japanese toys?"
"O, all right. Let's make them Decepticons, I mean, redecos back then switched sides, right?"

I wasn't gonna get that mold at first, but after replaceing my Deluxe Classics Seekers with a bunch of Voyager size Siegekers and adding non-armored Siege Shockwave to put next to Voyager size Megatron, it kinda feels weird to have Soundwave in there as a suddenly gigantic by comparison Leader class figure. I'll definitely keep the TR figure in the display, but I think the Soundblaster version of the Siege dude is a definite purchase for me now. The only thing is that I love all of the TR cassettes; especially Rumble and Frenzy; and I don't really wanna replace them in my display with the kinda dinky Siege Micromaster versions. I guess they can all coexist on the same shelf. No big deal.

More I see Barricade the more I almost want to get him. But I still think I like my TFCC Barricade w/Frenzy slightly more. Already having Prowl and soon Smokescreen in that mould also makes him easier to skip.
Does anyone else think that Spinister may be repainted into Rotorstorm? Thats the only reason I am thinking of holding off getting him.
Also does anyone else think we may get new voyager class Cyclonus and Scourge molds in the next part of this trilogy. Seeing as its a big push for Sunbow G1 accurate Cybertronian alt modes? I would love at least good voyager Scourge.
Apeface and IDW Impactor cant get here soon enough.

Not in the plans I'm afraid. Besides, a third member of the Air Strike Patrol, Nightflight, is in the Micromaster 10 pack as a redeco of Visper.

Sunstreaker could have easily been a slight mod to the Sideswipe mold and would have been great with his bro. Blitzwing is just a personal favorite (I got the original off the shelf) and I would have loved to see an update.
I will be shocked if we don't get a Sunstreaker in next year's line. I want to complete the '85 Deluxe Cars lineup, and I trust that will happen across the entire WfC line. I'm also happy with TR Blitzwing, though my copy has QC issues with the chest. I wouldn't have thought twice about him, except that Astrotrain is amazing.
I would like to see Generations versions of characters from other media. Barricade was a pleasant surprise, but kind of a one-off. Strongarm needs a high-quality release, and after their appearance in the comics reboot, I would also like to see Shadow Striker and Flamewar.
Honestly, any new fembot molds would be appreciated. I'm glad we got a half dozen across Siege and Selects, but hopefully the next WfC line keeps the gender representation while introducing new designs.

I actually see Sunstreaker more as a retooling of Wheeljack, with the hood legs and the chest:

Yeah, I’m familiar with the G1 transformations, I have both original Lambos. I just thought that would be an easy mod for Hasbro rather than a completely new mold. Some have mentioned using the back of the Sideswipe mold ending up as the front of a potential Sunstreaker figure.
Speaking of Wheeljack, that would be another figure I would like to have seen.

But then the car hood wouldn't be the legs. We have had enough half assed sunstreakers in the past, i am sick to death of him always getting just a placeholder figure.

For me Blitzwings already got a decent update in TR/Legends so I'd want the other micromaster team mates doing and a return to legends class figures to finish of the minibots (but only if they are moving away from the not quite cybertronian/not quite earth alt modes).
I know Potp had inferno but hes one of the few updates that's a just a minimal effeot repaint rather than being a true visual representation of him (great for stickering up as other characters tho).

Yes, but also like the Seekers they can cheat as much as they want. Fake chests, legs that tuck underneath with wheels to make them look like they're hovering, the works. Wheeljack and Jazz would probably be even easier than Bee since boxy alt modes lend themselves better to robots. Just look at Ironhide with his square arms and shell legs. Bumblebee would probably have to hide a lot of stuff to his back. If his second MP can do it then a regular retail figure can do it.

I really hope so. I’d be all over true Cybertronian alt modes. Don’t get me wrong, I love the hybrid space car/Earth vehicle modes for the Autobots, but I was really hoping for a few hovercrafts.

I desperately want a new Generations Drift and/or Deadlock. I keep looking at the secondary market for the original, but the new Flame Toys Furai release should hold me over until we get a new one.

According to the official scale guides they should be roughly half of Ironhide's size. So Legends is tall enough.

Meaning we already have them, and we should concentrate on other characters.

This is why having kickback on that last poll was interesting
Posted by o.supreme on August 12th, 2019 @ 3:06pm CDT
Also Considering the fact that 3 of those 4 poll entries have been released as Legends Class (or comparable) recently. I have a feeling the new Runamuck will herald in the return of this size class for the 2020 line as well (as would Needlenose have been if he won) I mean, was there any indication as to the size class of the entries in this poll? I assumed Legends based on the entries.

ZeroWolf wrote:This is why having kickback Shrapnel on that last poll was interesting
Well, given the inclusion of Shrapnel on the fan poll, Hasbro clearly disagrees that the Insecticons are taken care of, and is thinking of making a new set of them.
Besides, there are multiple reasons to justify new Insecticons:
Articulation: The level of articulation we're getting on this WFC figures gives them around twice as many points of articulation as a Legends figure (using Ironhide vs Chop Shop as my comparison, I could be wrong depending on the figures), so that would be a welcome improvement.
Popularity: Clearly Hasbro is trying to seed popular/recognizable characters into WFC retail along with the Cogs and the Apefaces and such, and the Insecticons are some of the only G1 Cons left that we didn't get in Siege who are recognizable to a casual-ish audience.
Accessories: Because of the Legends price point, none of the Insecticons got any accessories before, save the T30 release of Shrapnel. Making them at around Refraktor's size would allow for Bombshell, for example, to have his beetle-nose gun, his actual handheld weapon, and possibly if we're lucky, a blast effect compatible cerebro-shell (although they'd probably save that for an exclusive).
The Size Arguement: While the cartoon size chart puts them at Legends size (which I personally don't think should be right, but that's not the point), one also has to remember that the Insecticons were canonically shown to get bigger the more energy they were able to obtain/consume. That means built-in justification for selling bigger figures of them regardless of that scale, just say they're powered up to be more threatening, or that they had more easy access to Energon while on Cybertron on the winning side of the conflict.
Remolds: Depending on the remolding they're willing to do, they could easily get both an Insecticon and a Deluxe Insecticon each from each of the molds, as multiple site users have argued before.

I still don't buy into this theory of yours, because why would they make new molds of the same characters in the same size class that we just got in Prime Wars (or as a Takara exclusive, in Runamuck's case)? They confirmed at SDCC that they are new molds, because Warden mentioned accounting for Runamuck having all his wheels end up on his feet. Plus, Quake and Spinister are already Deluxes, having Needlenose be as size class smaller than his partners would make no sense, and Needlenose was also in the running to get a figure IN SIEGE from that poll, so they should already have a Deluxe-sized mold for him in the works that would have been released had he won his second poll because Siege has no Legends class.

I think they will turn up in siege though and just saves me from buying them and no doubt diaclone colours for selects.
Old leader class size would fit but they would definitely not be radio controlled sighs, back when toys could be inventive rather than rehashes. Just like reflector being out of scale its all a matter of which toons/scenes they were in. Deluzes are very possible for them.

ZeroWolf wrote:Thing is you're arguing articulation, but that's arguing legends versus Deluxe which isn't very fair considering price points. You may not agree with the scale but hasbro seems to be sticking with it, so I don't think they'll be Deluxes without major accessories to allow a legend sized bot mode. Personally I'd prefer a boxset via selects freeing up retail wave space for more deserving characters.
I think you missed my points a bit on those two: I was arguing current articulation is better than articulation when the Insecticons last came out (I just got SS KSI Boss in the mail today, a repaint of a figure from around the same time, and he has exactly as much articulation as Chop Shop with the exception of one transformation joint) and they deserve an upgrade in that regard, and I was pointing out that Insecticons can really be released at any scale they want and it would still be justified because they canonically change size.
If you'd prefer a boxset of the Prime Wars bugs, more power to you, I'm not trying to say you're wrong for wanting that, but I think that's kinda unlikely at this point.
