From what Ive heard, the first edition basically is just a preview wave. Most figures will be unchanged when it goes to the normal line. cliff and BB are gettin remolds, but thats about it. No less paint or anything. First edition just has a lil cardboard stand and a sticker that says first edition

Me too!! As to the retail thing, I have looked everywhere. Basically, your options in the immediate future are online or TRU. theres no defintive answer as to when theyll be in stores, but im guessing early next year. But yes they will be in retail. Eventually.

might be a paint difference in the Japanese vs these, but no, for the first edition and main release they should be the same

I may do the same, especially if the Takara version looks good. This mold is outstanding.

This figure looks amazing, and is pretty much at the top of my list of Prime figures to get. Can't wait! Not that I have money, but... yeah. lol

that is a FANTASTIC transformation .. and he looks AMAZING in both modes
He's definitively a must have.
-on another note-
The accuracy of these figures is getting me as excited as I was about Animated .. Hasbro.. YOU'VE DONE IT AGAINNNNNN -wallet cries in fear- !!

That is the only thing I hate about the Prime line: if it wasn't hard enough choosing between Hasbro and Takara versions, we'll also have two molds for each character to choose from. You buggers HasTak!

Thank you for finally making something good after the shit known as DotM Mechtech. These Transformers Prime toys look incredible, but I have one question:
WHERE THE H311 IS OUR LEADER MEGATRON?????????????
Sincerely, prowl123

Bulkhead in this picture is mistransformed. Peaugh actually has it right if you compare it to the CGI model. The windows on the doors are supposed to cover the headlights. The CGI model has the windows on the doors down where you can see the headlights. The Voyager has the windows up and are tinted making it hard to see the lights. The wheels are supposed to be pegged on his upper back.

No surprise there. I just love how Hasbro mistransforms their own toys.

It's not Hasbro that mistransforms them, it's their PR company that takes the pictures of the figures. They often recieve first-off-the line figures and/or coloured prototypes to take the images with, and the instructions aren't available to them yet. Heck, everytime I see one that's properly transformed into both robot and vehicle mode, I'm impressed.
