Wow...that's terrible. If Redbull gives you wings, then Arcee has a direct line from the factory.
That backpack is horrible.
First Edition wins. Dang.

just it feels a little unsatisfied with color and wings lacking detailed. I will likely skip this one, and hope for a 3rd mold which address the issues.
(Note: I have a FE Arcee.)

RID has:
-Better scale
-Better screen accuracy (The wings, while smaller in the show are meant to be there)
-a face that isn't horrifying
FE has:
-both swords, rather then one
Seriously, the RID looks SO much better, I can't see how people could possibly be saying the FE is better. The FE is one ugly figure.

Haha, keep dreamin bud. If anything, its a relfex to say PRID is better, since FE is now discontinued and more expensive.

Yeah, RID is soooo much better across the board. That's why I spent 60 bucks for an FE Optimus and am contemplating on spending 80+ on a Bulkhead because they suck so much.

And you probably don't want to spend another 30 or whatever dollars for a deluxe in addition to that. DUH.
I honestly think they're both pretty close in regards to the awesome factor. One just has more of something, and the other more of the other thing. I feel the PRID version is closer to looking like a toy, where as the FE is closer to looking like a collectable toy. But I won't say anything more coz I don't want to bum out the ones who genuinely like this version better. S'all good.

Seriously, that's one of the coolest things I've seen. I love both, but that's just awesome.
Back on topic, the wings (minus the size) are show accurate. The back pack, is ridiculous.
The body parts on the FE can be painted to look more like the show.
The FE wins for me. The wings aren't accurate, but she has little to no back pack compared to the PRID version, plus she just needs a little paint. She could use a pistol that's show accurate, but I can't complain.

The PRID Arcee is much more accurate and the figures are well scaled to each other. the quality of the model is a result of the complexity of the transformation more than anything (hasbro have done this to appeal to their core audience, which isnt complexity loving collectors) and it IS more loyal to her show design despite its simplicity (the arms and the chest are much more accurate). I can tolerate the wings
I sick of this trend for slagging off PRID comparing it to FE, the FE line came and went (too soon i grant you), its a secondary market item (unless you buy takara versions, which ARENT hard to find) and this is what we have now. Its not the same line and it sure as hell isnt masterpiece! And in the big scheme of things, will you even give a crap about these things a year or two from now when several dozen more toys will have come and gone? People who dont own these figures, with all due respect, have waited 3 months before trying to pick them up. I respect that people want to go into local shops to buy them (i think thats a bit unrealistic, but then im British and we survive on online sellers for a lot of our figs), but if you sat on your hands for 3 MONTHS then you lost out on this line (plenty of ebay sellers ive seen do the deluxe figures at less than £10 over the £14 rrp, i refuse to believe there arent americans doing the same), i wish people would just get over it. Slag off the design if you feel that strongly, but the FE is better argument is just tired and pointless. And for the record, all those individual scalpers (that arent shops) that are asking stupid prices are mostly fans like us.
Mindvvipe is right, FE is a collector line, PRID is a toyline. Comparing the two is just a waste of time, she will fit in with the line of figures we're going to be getting
sorry to rant

*TWITCH*
I think this is much better than FE. I'll gladly trade a bigger backpack for more accurate size. RID Arcee will look much better with the other Prime figures.

The FE version is a straight up better toy. Yea, Arcee has "wings" if you can call them that in the show, but if the choice is between some kibble on her arms or Batman wings? I'll take the arm kibble.
The improved scale with Bumblebee is all this has going for it and that's just a side effect of them reducing the overall size of the toys. It wasn't planned.

i really can't seem to see the positive of picking this one up. Money's not even tight but it feels like after a decade of Fembot scarcity, unlicensed and licensed parties have decided to make up for the lack of roboboobage.
Megatron Wolf wrote:shes smaller than the first edition? what the **** hasbro, the FE verison is small as it is and you make it even smaller?
In all actuality, the FE version is on par or even bigger than the previous incarnations of Arcee in the Movieverse and in Animated. And if you mean her body type is small, well it's better if she's slender, than chunky.

Megatron Wolf wrote:shes smaller than the first edition? what the **** hasbro, the FE verison is small as it is and you make it even smaller? I knew it as soon as DOTM came out the figures are just going to continue to get smaller and smaller and the quality will probably get worse & worse. It looks like a cheap knock off compared to the FE version. This is probably why the first editions were not mass released, they're better than the ones coming out & hasbro was afraid that people would finally catch on to what they're doing. One of the few figures i was thinking about getting and it turns out to be pure crap, Thanks alot hasblow. I dont care if its "show accurate" im not paying $11 for a figure thats closer to scout class than deluxe class. And here i thought DOTM was going to be the smallest part of my collection, if this keep up TFPrime will be.
REALLY??? not overeacting at all here? just a tad?
FE - designed to be part of generations, for collectors market
PRID - designed for ages 4+
the average prime deluxe is close to twice the size of scout class windcharger. Ive checked with wheeljack and cliffjumper. I suggest you actually size them up in person. Its a size reduction for scale purposes among other things, its not THAT big a drop.
First Editions werent mass released because of the size of the production run and supplier demand, not a conspiracy to conceal their cost cutting and attempts to shaft the fandom by giving us substandard TOYS.

And not to continue to stoke the PRID VS FE argument BUT I have fe cliffjumper and PRID Wheeljack in front of me. They're the same height and Wheeljack is much more solid
and I will defend the quality of PRID soundwave and Wheeljack to the bitter end. Arcee's size is for scale. I think it's brave of Hasbro to do this, but I do like it

These are pretty much my thoughts as well. It looks really good in some ways, size for example, blue forearms, more accurate chest, etc, but it's really lacking in paint apps, and the wings are way too big. If I didn't already have the FE one I could settle for this one, but I do, so it's a pass.

Sirtank wrote: Arcee shouldn't be taller than Bumblebee.
I know this is all from the show and all, but I really have absolutely no problem with FE Arcee's height, especially being taller than bee, who used to always be a tiny bot from the G1 days, as well as a lot of the comics. I find people see scale too much as a deciding factor in rank/power. I much prefer to drop size in regards to rank/ability. The only thing that I attribute to the physical characteristics of a lot of my TFs is how bulky (fat) they are in the limbs, and how that relates to their strength/resiliance to being damaged (A good example of a twisted exception is Bludgeon; all skeletal but somehow insanely powerful). It pretty much ends there, as I much rather revel in the notion that there is no one-step visual way of determining exactly where the bot stands in ability to kick another bots ass. More imagination, fellow fans. It'll free you for your scale troubles.
Side note: WFC Prime is perfect the size he is, as he plays a tough leader despite being nothing great in size. It just adds so much more dimension to my collection.

I think it's an improvement, but it's a shame the wings are so big.

As for her height. Well, Arcee was taller than BB in G1 anyway...

Talking about quality, I noticed that the plastic on PRID Meg is rather light. Yes, it is sturdy and does not feel cheap, but its just really light, and kinda bendy. Compared to a generations from 2010... say WFC prime, WFC prime is actually heavier than PRID megs, and its plastic is not as bendy.
Anyone else noticed it?
