Curious to see how this --and the Orion Pax Kreon-- turns out.

I think that's just because Beast Hunters is their current "thing" and they want to push that. As soon as the BH cartoons end and the BH line ends, I bet the focus will shift back to Megatron.
At least, I HOPE that's the case. I hope they're not thinking about phasing out Megatron because they think it's easier to sell a dragon as a kid's toy than it is to sell a tank (basically an oversized gun) as a kid's toy. That would make me a sad panda. It wouldn't shock me, though.

Dear God, I hope they aren't TOO "popular".
I'm throwing this out there again: these toys are cheap to make and very profitable to sell. That's fine, I have no problem with Hasbro making a cheap buck... I guess.
But when you buy the odd character here and there, it's guaranteeing said character does not get a TF proper.
Think about it, Kreo, Botshots, Bionicle TF... they're quick ways to extend trademarks/registrations. Especially the individual Kreo guys - Hasbro will NEVER make toys out of those guys (i.e. classic TFs) because they no longer have to.
I think if these offshoot lines could fail disastrously, Hasbro would focus more on the classic TF's (be it Prime, movie, G1, or whatever).
No offense to those of you who genuinely like Kreo: but HUGE offense toward the "completionists" with an OCD complex about owning every iteration of a character, no matter how insignificant or Kreo he may be!

But this book is due out next May. With Target already ditching the special endcap for "Predacons Rising" and TF4 coming out sometime near that date I can't see Hasbro still plugging Beast Hunters then.
The last few years don't seem to have been all that kind to our favorite Buckethead. Denied a "Leader" or such large-scale figure in both DotM and Prime, no appearance at all in the FoC part of Generations, and now he's noticeably absent from this book's blurb. Not a good trend.

Do we even know it's a Kreon? Could be a buildable figure.

Considering the fact that it comes free with a book and the book is only $12, I'm pretty sure they're not giving away a $10-$15 toy. I think it's pretty safe to assume it's a Kreon.

I'm actually far more interested in the book than the Kreon. Hopefully more of those wonderfully silly bios that far too few Kreons have.
