As for the missing paint apps, it's annoying but inevitable. I'd personally rather they skipped out on the chrome and kept the paint. G1 Jetfire didn't have any chrome, so it doesn't make sense. I guess we'll have to settle for Reprolabels, unless they're smart and put a sticker sheet in the box like Whirl.
However, if they're marketing this as a Platinum Edition, which would explain the chrome, prepare for higher prices everywhere.

While there's clearly some sarcasm in that reply, it also rings with truth. Words are just words. Their context and intent are much more important. If you choose to be offended by something that clearly isn't being said, that's more on you.

I guess that would explain a $60 price tag then???
If he was just a regular leader class, I would expect $45.

I have the classics jetfire, voyager class, and it looks better than this...
and what's with the alternate head?

This reinforces it. Does anyone really think any mass retailer is going to carry a toy that is priced $20 over its own target margin? A leader figure is supposed to be $40 tops. $60? Good luck finding one. And again, that is assuming Hasbro actually follows thru on producing these.

Just shut up already. EVery f-ing post you make is just you bitching about crap. Please do us all a favor and disappear. You add nothing positive to this board, all you do is troll with your negativity. You are the worst the kind of poster and this forum is a worse place because of your presence on it.

RoTF Leader Class figures (Optimus Primes, Megatrons, Jetfire) sold for $50 in 2009 at Walmart. I bought Leader Ironhide in 2011 for $44 at TRU. I imagine the prices would either stay the same or go up a bit. Unless I got hosed.

It's fully expected that it would cost more to ship than if bought from a US retailer. However, the shipping is very much overpriced. It just plain does not cost $33 to ship something that size from HK to the USA, unless you start talking about Express services, which that $33 price is not for.
They're known for this kind of thing. It's $20 to ship a deluxe figure now from RK, again at the cheapest. The actual cost is probably somewhere around $15. That $33 on Jetfire should probably be closer to $20, unless they put it in some kind of ridiculously sized box.

I'm really thinking we will see these in retail. I remember how concerned I was over finding Cosmos and Swerve and now I can find them readily. I think Jetfire will be found! : )

poor hasbro, if only they knew that 90% of people buying this toy are over 18 years of age.
can't wait to pick this up.
Few gripes from pictures, his paint scheme is bland, could use more shading and details on the white. I understand they're trying to go g1 accurate, but his colors don't really work the best for a toy.

They are WELL aware of this. The Generations line seems like it's targeted at collectors more than kids, but if they were to market it that way then it would really only be collectors stores that would stock them rather than general retail stores.

i mean.. we already got a jetfire toy update with the classics jetfire.. what i want is a figure of the cartoon version.
had they given us a more cartoon accurate alt mode.. there'd be no need for a fake chest and a giant fuselage hanging off his back. hell, i don't think jetfire/skyfire has ever gotten a toon accurate alt mode. it's a shame really.
plus, the stripped paint apps makes this figure look ridiculously cheap, and it's not like there were that many to begin with, so i'm not sure why they got rid of them.. plus, look at his hollow thighs.. seriously, hollow thighs on a leader class figure. looks like the cost cutting from the movie lines is clearly going to affect the proper generations figures which totally sucks.
this is just further degradation of the leader class. the leader class used to be the best.. movie 1 leader prime, while it had a lot of kibble was still rather good for its time.. leader class brawl too.. then rotf prime which is incredible, rotf leader jetfire was huge and nice looking. starscream was great. dotm leader class sentinel was awesome, same with leader class ironhide.. hell, people even enjoyed leader class bumblebee.. and now we get AOE prime and grimlock who are too small, lack the engineering of the previous figures, and both are SEVERELY lacking when it comes to comparative accuracy. it's just a shame that these measures have taken hold of the generations figures.
i wonder how the final leader megatron will look, i wonder if it too will lose some paint.
oh well. i can still hope takara gives us a proper jetfire/skyfire. kronos looks great, but i'm holding out in hope that takara gives us one.. i mean, it's not like they need a license, there doesn't appear to be any hoops that they'd need to jump through.. so, my fingers are crossed.
don't get me wrong though, this figure looks nice.. it just could be better. aside from remolding it into a proper toon jetfire, leaving the original paint scheme would've gone a long way.
Posted by Constantine on July 9th, 2014 @ 5:09am CDT
In both modes. Very lazy design. The original toy Jetfire (Macross mold) was notable for how little kibble there was in either mode. This looks like the robot mode has an entire folded-up jet on its back and the alt mode looks like it has an entire robot hanging from the undercarriage.
Also don't like how the shade of red of the chromed-out weapons is too dissimilar from the red paint apps on the body. Looks like they took the weapons off some other toy and stuck them onto this one. If the shades matched then the chrome would really make the whole toy pop. As it is though, the dissimilarity is jarring.

Just damn lazy... (Is this a Kre-o figure or a fracking Leader class?)
1) Hollow thighs
2) Hollow mid arms
3) Molded crappy chrome guns on legs to blow off Jetfire's arms in battle
4) Excessive backpack
5) Ridiculous price point
6) Bland white color
7) Closed fists
Inferior to Classics Jetfire mold...wish they had just made that mold into leader class. I could go on but have made my point. Let the neverending comments about fanboys never being happy with anything commence. This figure is poorly executed from every angle.

That jet mode though...exquisite is the only word for it. It's chunky and sleek at the same time, and it's just so pointy! I love everything about it- I like the Macross cues they took with it a lot, too.
Also, chrome. Red chrome. I think I'm in love.
