Update: After the Ain't it Cool News review started making waves in the Transformers community regarding the twins director Michael Bay posted the following in his Shoot for the Edit forum:
After the internet posting of a nice review by someone who saw Transformers Dark of the Moon, the writer had not been clear on one thing. He misstated that the Twins are in the film. They are not.
So I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens.
Michael
Capone has subsequently updated his review with the following regarding the twins:
[Hey, everyone. Just to be 100 percent clear, I'm not referring about the "The Twins" here; they are most definitely not in this film. I'm talking about Wheelie (Tom Kenny, who also voiced Skids in REVENGE OF THE FALLEN) and other similar smaller robots, who act like streetwise teenagers.]
The Chicago battle:
- over an hour long
- intense
- lots of civilian deaths
The Twins:
- they are in the film
- they've been toned down from ROTF
Megatron:
- very creepy
- still has is disfigurements from ROTF
- little spider-like robots crawl in and out of his head wound that he casually picks away
- in surprisingly good spirits
Sentinel Prime:
- left Cybertron in the Ark filled with technology he thought would eventually save their planet
- voiced to "perfection" by Nimoy
- retrieved and revived by Optimus Prime
Sam Witwicky:
- has graduated college and is now living with new girlfriend Carly
- not happy that he is not employed by the government
- his boss is played by Malkovich
- Ken Jeong is co-worker
- his parents are in the film, but minimally
Carly:
- Sam's new girlfriend (obviously)
- often in the tightest of cloths
- often filmed as though she is in a Victoria's Secret show
- better than Megan Fox in the reviewer,s opinion
Dylan (Patrick Dempsey):
- Carly's boss and possible competition for her attentions
- has a penchant for world domination
Agent Simmons;
- has written a book about the Transformers on Earth
- now a rich eccentric
- trying to not get pulled back in to the game
Moon landings/alien technology:
- the first and every Moon landing since has been in response to the Ark crash landing
- Autobots are not amused that technology meant to save their race has been sitting on the Moon all this time without their knowledge
- Chernobyl accident was caused by experimentation on retrieved alien technology
Bottom line: Best of the three!

The reviewer says she's better than Megan Fox, not that she's any good. I mean let's face it, it ain't all that had to act better than Megan Fox(who's got the acting ability of a cardboard cut out).
Dunno how I feel about the review. Glad it's a positive one, but what was described seems more of the same, all the characterization goes to the human characters, while the Transformers are only there for the action sequences. Hopin' for the best, planning for the worst.

actually.. he does say that she's good.
"Huntington-Whiteley is actually pretty good here and certainly miles better than Megan Fox"

morphobots wrote:Interesting that the twins are mentioned considering Yahoo! posted a news article just this morning emphatically stating they were dropped from the movie, going so far as to chide an unnamed fan blog for refuting the announcement by using year-old photos of the cars on the set. Then again, the writer appeared to be basing his statement simply on Bay's word, and we all know by now how trustworthy he is. Bottom line when dealing with him now appears, to me, to be don't believe a word from him until you confirm it with your own eyes. Sad.
I've always thought Nelson and Bay were misleading people about the Twins, ever since we've seen the Sparks, really...I think they're playing with what they've been saying so that when they have said (repeatedly) that 'they won't be in it', I've always thought they might mean that 'they won't be in the film as we have known them', or some such...
Anyway, this review is positive and the facts are promising!

No, most insects eat things after they are dead if they are lying there over time. The bugs could be trying to eat away at his head. He's supposed to be more mild mannered in this film. Dear God.

We can't be entirely sure yet. They could be flying spider creatures. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm at least 3 degrees more excited for this film now than I was before and I'm totally stoked to see that Alan Tudyk is in it. They probably gave him one of the smallest bit parts imaginable but I don't care. I'm a huge Firefly fan and I'm happy to see him back on the big screen in any capacity. I've already told my work I need July 1st off and I don't give a damn if they find out the real reason why. It's going to be nothing but Transformers ALL DAY LONG for me!

Blackstreak wrote:When someone refers to The Twins in regards to Transformer movies it's always in reference to Skids and Mudflap. Any other Transformers reference would be Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Are there any other twins? Arcee, Elita-1, and Chromia are triplets in my opinion, even if they have been referred to as twins whether in movie or comic.
I dont know of any other actual related twins other than listed but I do know a few other repaints and remolds.
Ironhide and Ratchet.
Grapple and Inferno.
Sideswipe and Red Alert?

No, probably just sees the light in things

That movie was awesome.

atffan wrote:Caution:contain Spoilers: I am a Tranformers Fan and After watching TF 3, I feel totally unhappy and frustrated. for starters, Shockwave looks cool, a very scary one eyed decepticon. The Last time I check, he's a decepticon military strategist who always have something logical to say. in this latest installment, well,He doesn't talk much, (Say something Logical, Darn IT!) making him look like just taking orders and not thinking. Secondly, Megatron. In the First Movie He's a very powerful decpticon robot then became kinda weak in the second one. But here, totally pathethic! I'm not a Megatron fan, at least he should fight like a ruthless decipticon warrior. I don't know, maybe I like G1 cartoons more, Having said that, all I could think of is just sit on my chair and read my G1 comic book. Oh, by the way. With Utmost respect! Micahael Bay should really stop making another TF movie.
Oh where to begin...
1.) This is not G1. This universe is a reboot. This is not the same Optimus, Megatron or Shockwave. These are new takes on old characters. This. Is. Not. G1. Sorry, but it's not.
2.) Megatron is very weak due to his injuries.
Those include:
A gaping hole in his HEAD.
He was stabbed and shot repeatedly.
3.) This is Bay's last movie.
You're entitled to enjoy G1 more, but you're not being fair to the movieverse when you compare the two, simply for the fact that this a reboot and not G1. That being said, more for us.

atffan wrote:None taken. I know it's not G1, and it's also not really my place to say this, but by making a movie that something we are familiar with since childhood, they should at least try to study it more thoroughly... I mean such characters like megatron, optimus, sidewipe to name among others. It really hurts when you see them got different personality. Megatron's injuries are noted, while Prime had one arm left after battling with Sentinel, I won't mind Megatron losses, but not lasting for 3 minutes!? Megatron should have repair himself first, He can always go to Cybertron.(He flew to cybertron right after he is revived by fellow decepticon in TF 2)I also know that this is Bay's last movie, but you never know what will happens next in hollywood.
Here's the problem, Bay knew nothing of TransFormers. He was only given a certain amount of info, from both the writers and producers. Since he was an outsider and given not much to work with, I can't blame him for not knowing the mythos. In all fairness, it runs deep, and in many directions. Heck, there are 'verses I know nothing about. Nor do I care. So if a fan has that problem, imagine an outsider who's thinking this is all a joke.
The writers all grew up with this stuff, they knew the source material, they admitted this, and look at the changes they created! They should be ashamed of themselves.
Megatron couldn't repair himself, no Energon. The only source on Earth is The Matrix, and Prime ain't coughin' it up for his arch enemy.
Actually, no, he didn't fly to Cybertron in the second movie. That was a crashed Cybertronian carrier, but it wrecked on Saturn's moon. (One of them, I should say, I don't think it was clarified as to which moon. If it was, I can't remember.)
As for Bay, they could bring him back if they cough up enough money. However, if I was him, I'd stand my ground and say no. Hell no.
