Images of the upcoming DOTM figures continue to pour in from ACtoys. The same user who uploaded the image of the Human Alliance dune buggy has now uploaded images for Leader Bumblebee and Voyager Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime is also displayed with Voyager Megatron and Ironhide. The figures are also pictured with their new Mech Tech weapons.

What the hell are these mech tech weapons? I have a faint idea they can combine with each other to form... something, otherwise their rough details can't be justified.

as for prime SHIT!

and as for the mechtech weapons i will be removing them on most/all dotm figures i get

The new prime figure is starting to look pretty good imo. These pictures seem to have transformed properly. I am sure there is a movie explanation for this and I am sure this figure will be released with a trailer. Right now, I am gonna hold final judgement till I see the trailer's purpose with this figure but overall it is looking good.

Other the good side, that Megatron looks really cool if it was any character other than him. Makes me think of the Spotlight Drift

The DotM toy line is turning into nothing but a train wreck. Actually, a train wreck typically has more that's worth holding ones interest and so far the only thing this line has that is of any real interest (to me anyways) is the HA dunebuggy. I think Hasbro is taking an awful big risk messing with the movie line and adding gimmicks. They already have the gimmicky PCC's they should have stopped there and played it safe.

ok. i'm goin to be blunt here. YEs optimus is coming wiht a trialer and that's awesome, but given the sheer craptacular nature of his voyager toy. i'm now not expecting much from the trailer interactiveness.

Bumblebee is a waste of a leader spot, and his "MechTech" Weapon is epic fail.

Those MechTech weapons HAVE to combine into something. Otherwise they're just oddly shaped lumps of plastic. Bumblebee's especially look like they could be arms.

Or they could just be a oddly shaped lump of plastic.

I must say, the DOTM line is looking extremely underwhelming. I'm not the slightest bit interested in yet another an out-of-scale Bumblebee, and the Prime looks awful. I'm hoping it's lacking some of the paint apps that the final version will have, because he is extremely bare looking in vehicle mode, and he seems to have solar panels or something on his hood and roof. I hope that this isn't an indicator for what the whole line will be like. Oh well, on the bright side, at least I'll be able to dedicate more money to getting Classics/Universe figures I missed and to my Lego collecting.

I think I'm gonna pick up some of the new robots introduced in TF3 and just use the previous movie molds of the returning characters. Bumblebee looks like crap in robot mode and Prime's chest isn't that great of an appeal to me. It looks like an Activator's chest or something.

I hope that Megatron is still a prototype... It looks like it needs more paint. And hopefully there will be a leader class...

It's a bit odd how the figures seem to be more shellformer-ish and blocky than their predecessors. Then again, I guess you can only recycle the exact same characters so many times before they become too similar to each other.

The transition from TF to ROTF allowed for some tweaks here and there, but for the transition to DOTM that's pretty much impossible without recycling the characters wholesale. So they apparently started doing 'other' stuff. Hate Megacape all you want, he seems to be the most convincing figure so far just for being something wholly different.

WTF? what happened to OP? Why didn't they just re-use the HFTD Voyager (scaled-down ROTF Leader version) mold? That thing is hideous! Is there a possiblity it could be a FAB? Are those solar panels on him too?

Now, Leader BB looks good.

We just need someone to leak what all those "mech-tech" weapons/parts form.

So far I only have plans for the 'Con SUV, the Wreckers, Megatron, Shockwave (hopefully he'll be revealed soon), red Ferrari, fire truck, 'bot from the end of the teaser trailer.

Ironhide's gun kinda looked like an arm, Bumblebee's looks sorta like a torso. Perhaps they (and all Mech Tech) combine to a larger bot?
Image
I'd imagine the shoulder bits will fold down for a more realistic arm, and he may very well be backwards. Still, I'm getting a little excited for potential fan-combiners.

I have figured out why Hasbro has been trying to hide these from public view before they're released.

Hasbro Guy 1: "We can't have the fans know these are shit now! That'll give them time to plan other purchases with their money! We have to milk their wallets for all it's worth, because this is the last movie and even we're phoning it in at this point. WE MUST STOP THE LEAKS!"

Hasbro Guy 2: "But...uh...what will you do when they see them in person and still think they're shit and not buy 'em, boss?"

*Hasbro Guy 1 pulls out a gun and blows away Hasbro Guy 2*

"We can't be having that kind of thinking here. Logic and taste have no place in this toyline. What the hell people, you want us to make good toys this time around?"

Wow.. I will usually defend the movie toys, but theese look like a huge step backwards. Why make a craptastic voyager Prime when they have the vastly superior BB Optimus from the RotF line? The only thing I can think of is it coming with the trailer. Man I hope the trailer works with my Battle Blades Prime. As for the leader Bumblebee, i'm hoping for it being slightly mistransformed. To me, something just looks a little off about it.

Thank you so much Hasbro, so far all the DOTM toys have looked like total crap. I can save money and buy the figs I really want. Bumblebee looks like he overstuffed his shoulder pads and Optimus, what did you do to your chest? I applaud Hasbro for trying to make Voyager Prime different from the last mold but at least make it better please.

I'm disgusted. The first movie brought me back. I got many of those toys and loved them. The second movie blew me away. Buster Prime is like a cherished possession to me. Strictly hands off for everyone. But this new round, I have not seen a single thing I'm willing to spend money on yet. This coming from someone that has 6!!! Optimi's (plural??) from the last movie, three of which are of the fantastic leader mold and one of which was the new BB Optimus.

This Prime has fake wheels on his legs for christ sake. And they didn't even color them, they are grey plastic like the rest of the legs. Then he looks like his hood and cab roof are covered in diamond plate or something. And it looks awful. Surely those fuel tanks were put on steroids, because they've outgrown poor Prime. His chest is just a mess. It looks like one solid piece of... crap. Also, it's weird that his rear tires now become the tires around his ankles in bot mode. Previously it was always the front tires, wasn't it? So you could reasonably say this Prime is ass backwards from the start!

The only thing I can think of is that they created this monster with the idea of it being more simplistic and cheaper because he's rumored to have his trailer and they didn't want to retool the more complicated Battle Blades and raise the price to what they think the customer is unwilling to pay. Because this mold looks far less complicated to assemble.

Ok, I usually defend pretty much everything, but that prime is just plain bad, even his kibble isn´t accurate, 07 voyager Prime wasn´t exactly accurate, but it was a very good figure and it was released 4 years ago! :BANG_HEAD:
and about Bumblebee...he looks like Battle ops BB but without the "fixed" blaster arm, down-sized (and even then he´s EXTREMELY out of scale), and with a freaking huge lump of kibble meant to be a gun :BANG_HEAD:
seriously, WTF hasbro??? :BANG_HEAD:

Does anyone know if this is the same Optimus as the one with the trailer in the listing we got recently? Or will the trailer be Takara only?

The bumblebee is okay is guess but it is un necessary. Optimus is just horendous it looks like an oversized fast action battler. although is has the mech tech weapon i still believe it is a replacment for the fab's because if it were an actual voyager prime that is a huge STEP DOWN from the HFTD prime so i'm hopeful this is not the real prime :BOOM:  :BOT:  :-? :-? :-?

I think Hasbro should redo the BB Prime mold with Takara's hooks. That mold is just too good not to get another version.

By the way guys, no one is forcing you to buy these toys. Chillax.

That may be the worst Optimus figure ever made. We knew he was gonna get a makeover, but this is just complete $#!^. The only good thing about him are the solar panels. I like those. :BOOM:

I am ashamed to say that I like that BB, but WHY THE #3!! IS HE A LEADER? :BANG_HEAD:

I hate these Mechtech things. They're so big and make the figure look like even bigger $#!^ than it already... wait a second. :-?

What if all of the Mechtech weapons combined in some way to form the Ark that we saw in the preview? Then, maybe this line wouldn't be as much of a prison riot.

That Megatron and that Ironhide are the only good figs that have come out of this line so far.

Hasbro has officially lost their mind. I should go tell them a thing or two...

Only thing I can think of why Megs has the cloak is due to his face getting jacked up at the end of ROTF. (Maybe he didn't want any of Scalpels plastic surgery?) I'm hopeing the movie does it justice. But if he is the full tanker truck in the movie, I'd say he's a bit out of scale..... if the tanker truck is really Megs.

Prime, pass unless w/ trailer he looks ok.

I was kind of joking buddy. I've been attacked and interrogated as to what was wrong with me a few times for saying positive things about rather unpopular figures. And I've got my BB Prime, and I'm getting the Takara version possibly, so I probably won't get that hunk of slag on May 16th (and watch me eat my words on May 16th  ). I'm rather extremely disappointed with the new Optimus, so I hope we get more than just this one. He is Optimus prime, after all.

this toyline is looking pretty bad so far, i now see why hasbro changes the characters every year. Why dont they take a page from beast wars and keep the story going but give a reason as to why their forms change, it would be alot better than trying to take a character that never changes and try to make a toy thats different but the same as well. Wow i just confused myself with that sentence but im sure you get what i mean.

Damn, first it was G2, then Beast Machines, then Energon, THEN the movie-verse, THEN PCC, and now this.

I think Hasbro might be the GREATEST trolls in the toy industry *applause*

But related to the topic, that Optimus is ugly as hell, Battle Blade Bee is the only one anyone needs, Hide's legs look anorexic, but nothing too bad, and I'm digging Meg's "Evil Bandito" look.

GEEWUN wrote:I'm just glad megs has a proper arm cannon now (hopefully)

Actually I could care less about the cannon arm.
I think it's perfectly fine when they don't have a cannon arm, however.
Megatruck is a bad idea.
It might work in the movie, but Why did they not go with a tank or space plane.
Planes, I can understand, I mean, it's a decepticon thing to be able to fly.
Tanks, I can understand, because they have a big cannon by nature.
But why a truck.
Megatron is not supposed to be a clone of optimus, like a twisted twin brother, He might have been an ally or co-leader once, but Megatron is supposed to be war like (not in the Freddy Krueger just became a truck driver sort of way), or atleast, look nothing like optimus.
The MegaTruck just looks like it came from madmax, but I see no practicallity in a giant Semi covered with a tarp.
"OH BUT HE HAS A CAPE"
Megatron doesn't need a cape, He isn't batman, and he isn't from assasins creed, Who needs a knife when you sometimes have a BFG.
transformers Cybertron megatron worked fine, if only because the race car mode was cool, and he was a triple changer, so the plane mode pretty much covered the decepticon angle.
RID Megatron was just weird, but he had plenty of different modes so it's not like it mattered, because it was an import, and the vehicle mode "could" maybe pass of as a tank, a wierd alien tank that could give a child nightmares, but a tank nonetheless.
That's just my opinion.
