I'm assuming this is a poster for the Chinese market and not a cheeky gag.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing it in American theater lobbys.

Excuse me? We have a middle american trying to make ends meet by scraping cars. Basicly doing what he has to do to make ends meet. Sounds alot like what people are going through these days.

TurboMMaster wrote:hen why it's called Transformers? If it's an human movie, why we need all these giant transforming robots. They don't need them as allies, and now they don't need them as enemies too!
Sounds like nearly every universe of TF.
TurboMMaster wrote:We already knew that humans are stronger part of this alliance, there is no need for yet another prove.

Its a 1.4 sec scene from a teaser trailer. we really have no idea what is happening at this point. Neither do we know if he does in fact die.

TurboMMaster wrote:And all these ships are there because?

I don't know. Maybe we should watch the movie and find out. ;)

TurboMMaster wrote:How good old and new Decepticon leader could be, if he can't even stand a chance against Optimus? What good all these upregades are, if he can't do what he already did so many time before?

Again, you have no clear shot of this scene, don't know what leads up to it, neither do we have confirmation that this is in fact Galvatron. And if it is, again, we don't know what happens.

TurboMMaster wrote:And that would be something worth to watch :) If Grimlock is so weak, what is the point of riding on him anyway?

Again, you just don't know. For all we know Grimlock could Own Optimus in a fight up to him bitch slapping him. Based on his "grunt" right before the bitch slap, it sounded like he "Optimus" had had enough. Do i know this for a fact? No. Just a speculation. I understand your speculating as well. But the one thing that everyone has to come to the realization of is that we just don't know at this point.
I remember after the DOTM trailer where Shockwave stood over the driller and pumped his gun, EVERYONE was certain that he was standing over a dead driller. Turned out that was not the case. Give it a chance.

Remember that Megatron had conquered Cybertron, and almost had won a final victory in mission city (and thanks to Titan Magazine and Video Games, he actually made it!). How good old and new Decepticon leader could be, if he can't even stand a chance against Optimus? What good all these upregades are, if he can't do what he already did so many time before?
SlyTF1 wrote:-He's awesome enough to warrant Optimus Prime getting pissed at him. What, you expect him to win in a fight against Optimus? If he did, he would kill Optimus.

I fail to see how you can determine that an entire movie is forced from about 10 seconds of a trailer.

Because there are Transformers in it. Almost every last cartoon had humans in it. Why should the movies be any different?

There is no alliance anymore. They're exterminating the Autobots.

Ships =/= Decepticons. And no one complained in TFP, where almost every single Decepticon was a random vehicon.

Megatron didn't conquer Cybertron. If anything, he was the one who ran it into the ground.

Optimus has always been smarter and stringer (maybe not in terms of brute strength)than Grimlock. Why do you think Grimlock follows him even when he doesn't want to? And why not ride him? An Autobot on a giant Dinobot will always be more effective than a single Autobot.

That's been analyzed as well with screen captures, and determined that it is indeed Galvatron. I didn't do it, just saw it. It's in the thread with the Super Bowl trailer. Which might be this one. Not sure.

Maybe this Prime's Shield isn't ordinary peace of metal, yet one of the few McGuffins in the movie? a Skyboom Shield perhaps?

About girl, yeah, she is hot, and also far more natural than Megan Fox, and that is a huge improvement (at least if we speak about ordinary peoples). But again: It's like every action movie have hot chicks since ever, so it's kinda hard to discuss...
SlyTF1 wrote:Megatron didn't conquer Cybertron. If anything, he was the one who ran it into the ground.
Well, it was said few time during the first trilogy, that Cybertron is now ruled by Decepticons and Optimus failed to secure the Allspark. Also, we can see Cybertron in Reign of Starscream and it was estabilished, that the planet is ruled by Decepticons and Autobot are almost going to extinct.

Is this proven or conjecture by you?

Anyway, considering this is the new movie thread, and I am somewhat of a short bus rider, I came up with an idea. In the trailer when Grimlock charges Optimus right before getting unceremoniously bitch slapped, he reminded me of BW Megatron charging the same way, especially in the 2nd part of the show's pilot. My idea is, what if Megatron survived DoTM and our resident bad guy, Attinger, is keeping him alive in some basement somewhere, much like Dr. Sumak did in Animated. Now, what if Grimlock gets captured by Attinger's men somehow, and gets either killed or has his brain (cerebral cortex, whatever) removed and replaced with Megatron's. And the "Grimlock" we see in the trailer charging Prime is actually Megatron, in a T-Rex body. BW fans, rejoice. All that would be missing is David Kaye's voice.

BTW, do we have a confirmed list of voice actors for AoE yet? It would be a shame if Gregg Berger didn't voice Grimlock, given that Bay didn't screw this up and just made the Dinobots non-speaking mindless monsters.

It's what the toy calls it.

Image

Though, strangely, the Movie Generations Leader toy has its shield called the "Vector Shield".

Image

Either one of these is a name change or Optimus has two shields (which wouldn't be surprising since both of them look different from each other).

And Grimlock fans despair (that their beloved T-Rex is nothing more than a puppet for Megs).

Great idea, I like it! Megatron could also "posses" some of Attinger's computers and use bad guys network to rebuild his damaged body...

And that how Galvatron was born!

Sadly, I don't expect that AOE plot would be THAT complicated :-(

And Sentinel Shield could be a Skyboom Shield, that is called Sentinel because it was one part of former autobot leader's equipment

Paramount has just released their first Transformers: Age of Extinction IMAX poster! The poster features Lockdown with what we assume is his ship in the background, as seen in the previous teaser trailer. According to MTV UK the ship is called the Nightship.

Transformers: Age of Extinction staring Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, T.J. Miller, Titus Welliver, Li Bingbing, Peter Cullen, and more hits theaters everywhere on June 27th! Check out the new IMAX poster below:

They seem to be making a fair amount of effort at making this movie stand apart from the prior 3 installments. The text in the poster is unlike the previous movie posters. I'm almost inclined to believe that this movie might actually BE different from the first three. "Almost" being the operative word there. I'm still extremely cynical about it and stand by my belief that they should have stopped at DotM. Obviously they have learned nothing from history. The Freddy movies turned to crap after #3 and even die-hard Star Wars fans like myself tore the prequel movies to shreds (and speaking of "Die Hard", that's another franchise that should have stopped at number 3). To date, only the Harry Potter Movies have had a successful run with all of their follow-ups being decent. Even the Trek movies had some serious bombs in the line-up. Paramount should know better than to even attempt what they are thinking of doing with having a run of six Transformers movies. The ONLY person on the face of this or any other world that could pull off such a run would be James Cameron and he's smart enough to not even involve himself with such a commercial property. All we can expect from these next 3 films is the night and day difference between the first Punisher movie (not the Lundgren version, that one doesn't count) and the follow up to it which was nothing but a crap fest with even more gunfire and explosions than any 3 Bay films combined and less substance than any 6 put together. This is going to be the idiot-fan's version of the Transformers from here on out. (Not that the first 3 were any kind of freaking prize for us)

^ Most of Lockdown's toys have a helmet, and imply it has some kind of tactical visor thing. I think the only toys with a proper face are the Kreon (who has a flip-down visor) and one of those super-deformed sideline things.

... which makes me think Lockdown's identity is supposed to be hidden. Which is really weird since he's basically a new character and not someone the average viewer would recognize.

Is this gun the simplified version for children's use? Or will be released in generations line? 8-}

You know I don't care that it's a gun, I just find it dumb this is a news story to an extent, it'd be like:

"Hey Here's a photo From the IKEA website that's cropped picture of Marky Mark sitting on a couch. We can't contain the excitement for Age of Extinction"

Just to give you guys an idea, we write about things relating to the upcoming movie. This manufacturer was proud that their product was featured in AofE, and that's cool for them. We shared it because it's an interesting fact that it isn't just a prop weapon. The movie picture wasn't the feature of the article because, while we haven't seen it before, is it really that exciting as a stand-alone shot from the movie? My point was certainly not to create a gun advert. However, that was the information afforded to me by the gun manufacturer's FB page, and that's the info I had to go off of.

Now, please. The Transformers franchise is about giant Transforming robots shooting each other. Let's not turn this thread into pro or anti gun. It will get locked if that happens.

No one wants this to spiral into an actual gun debate; the rhetoric for every side of that argument has already been spelled out on thousands of other webpages, so no point in repeating here.

It's just that even Transfans interested in buying from this company would surely find this article more relevant if it included contact info for ordering a North American release of Masterpiece Megatron, and the fact that that will never, ever happen makes this news ironic no matter what your views are on actual firearm laws or Hasbro's company policy.

Just pointing out the realistic-toy-elephant in the room (well, strictly Takara's room), because someone had to. That's all that irks me about this; since my toy collecting eats up all the funds I'd need to collect firearms, whether or not any TF fansite has an email and phone# through which to order guns is irrelevant to me personally.

Obviously the second amendment is more important to you than the first...

*ahem*

Though, to Seib or any mods reading this, my google-ad thing at the bottom of this thread keeps bringing up stuff about "qualifying for concealed carry" and "firearm accuracy mistakes", and I don't know if there's any way to turn that off (I've got Firefox). If everyone else is getting that too, it's going to keep provoking readers, so no matter how civil anyone wants to be, this thread's going downhill fast. While I agree this technically meets news criteria, I'm starting to doubt there was ever a good way to present it as such.
