Whose altmode is the Nemesis, of course!

2. Orion Pax, BB, and Megatron in the background.

This thing looks AWESOME!
Now I really hope they bring out a Trypticon of the same scale...

Personally I hope for a legions-class Trypticon but I suppose that if this guy sells enough they might consider it.

I didn't even see that until you pointed it out. That is impressive, if you ask me.

I just wish (hope) they do a second version which is more accurate to his appearance in the game.

I wouldn't bet on it. The most they can do is give him a slightly different head and round off some parts here and there.

I still want him... but not with in this year...

It's a good price.
I have a sad because of how much Australian retailers will jack up the price.
Import from Japan here I come!

I take it the Japanese are more gentle in "violating" you?
This guy will have a special spot on my shelves, but which one: Cyberverse or regular size?

Price works out roughly the same (maybe SLIGHTLY cheaper, and that's with postage factored in) but the big plus is I don't have to worry about distribution and whether it will make it to town or if I'll have to take an hour drive north and travel around the city trying to find him.

Yep. Hopefully someone will do a 3rd party add-on kit to mod him (mainly the chest and thin legs) to make him more game accurate. Has/Tak's engineers should have taken notes on what Planet X did with Genesis.

If I were into Cyberverse, I'd stick him with them. But I'm not into Cyberverse, so he will have a most honorable place among my Supreme-class figures.

Rodimus Prime wrote:Wow. Total surprise. But I'm definitely getting it. Finally a good representation of Metroplex. It's not game accurate? Doesn't matter. Personally, I'd LOVE a Metrotitan repaint.
Oh I agree. This is a great updated Metroplex and should fit in well with any Classics collection. It's just not a good representation of FoC Metroplex. I'll get him for sure still, but I'd still like one which was more game accurate.

I mean I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.
Metroplex was one of my all time fave toys.... He was forever present as I gre up through the different iterations of g1... The headmasters... Through to the micro masters he was always present as my autobot hq... I am really looking forward to tf 4. That way I hope there won't be many toys that interest me.
Fortress Maximus is still top of my list followed by this beast. I just ordered foc grimlock... I passed on nearly all other toys due to the price and reduced sizes. Guess they were saving all the plastic for this guy...
Is there a 3rd city mode?

Is this Metroplex's design completely original, being just an modernized update to the original design like what any Classics-style figure has been? Or, is it actually based on some existing version of Metroplex (like, is there an IDW G1 version of Metroplex)?

Fall Of Cybertron Metroplex is based on Metroplex's appearance in Fall Of Cybertron, an electronic video game based on Hasbro's The Transformers characters.

I'd say it's leaning toward G1 over FoC. But with a modern twist. This figure reminds me of an aircraft carrier on wheels. I'd like to see images of his rumored "third mode". If it's the city mode of old, that's what he might be displayed as.

That's not what I was asking. And this is not FOC Metroplex's design.craggy wrote:Fall Of Cybertron Metroplex is based on Metroplex's appearance in Fall Of Cybertron, an electronic video game based on Hasbro's The Transformers characters.

Yep. I think it is supposed to be FoC Metroplex, but all they did was scale up/slightly alter the G1 design instead of doing an extensive replication of the FoC character model (which is what I was really hoping for so I'm sad ).

Yep, as stated earlier, I think that's the best use for him (and what I'll be doing with him unless someone does an upgrade kit to make him look more like the FoC version).

You REALLY need to get into the MP line my friend. It's all proper G1 goodness (greatness actually) there .

Look, what I was asking is if this particular Metroplex's design was a completely original G1-homage design or based on any existing G1-homage design. ALL Metroplexes homage the G1 design, but this is NOT the G1 design. This is some updated version of the G1 design, and I was asking if this particular updated design was made specificially for this toy or if it was taken from an existing source like a comic or something.craggy wrote:FOC Metroplex was clearly based on G1 Metroplex in the first place though, or was anyone confusing him with someone else when he showed up in the game trailers? He's a big white robot and the head is similar, and he transforms by sitting down. Not a huge departure in designs like say Beast Wars vs G1 Megatrons, Silverbolts or Rampages. IDW, FOC and pretty much every other version of Metroplex I've seen has taken it's basic design from the G1. Even the Cybertron one with it's crazy alt mode had the basics down.
I know it isn't the FOC design, despite both this design and the FOC design being updated versions of the G1 design, but neither fit the bill in a precise manner for what design this Metroplex toy represents.

Cyberverse! As a city sized transformer....... Cyberverse is the closest it fits I think. But this will probably be the only Metroplex I'll ever get. (unless some other party comes out with something better soon, which I doubt) But it is SWEEEEET!

What stops me from collecting the MP line is scale. If Hasbro does eventually move on to doing all of Seasons 1-2, there will be no room to display them. Thats why I always joke about them being for coffee tables. I have my 3 MP seekers in jet mode doing a flyover in triangle formation. (right on my coffee table lol)

Yeah, they definitely eat space like there's no tomorrow, but man are they ever worth it. If you want something true to G1, you can't do better than the MPs that have emerged beginning with MP-10. If that's really what you're truly after, I would recommend selling off some of your other gap-fillers (CHUGs and 3rd party stuff) to get the money together as well as the space required for the MPs. I'm telling you, once you get MP-10 in hand, and even Lambor (and of course the upcoming Soundwave) you'll realize that it scratches that G1 itch in a way that nothing else has ever come close to.
