All I wanted was Repugnus & Shuffler today, maybe Kup, Percy or Topspin if I saw 'em....Sixshot ended my hunt due to his price tag.
This is the first sighting of this toy at a brick and mortar store in the US. We have yet to spot Sky Shadow , Broadside, Brawn or Roadburn at US retail so if any of you do, please let us know!

Yeah but the mold was literally the G2 Prime design. The one we got at retail is the predeco
Very good point indeed. Have a cookie

Anything else aside from his face and helmet?
It still counts...

Right, yeah, that's the one other annoying thing I forgot about him. There's slots in his upper thighs for the lower legs to tab into. They're a bugger to actually get plugged in and I always dread getting to them; they're so easy to miss too at first.

But hey, more Cosmos is never a bad thing. Hope this version actually casts the head in red instead of just painting it...

Wasn't there supposed to be a Beachcomber coming soon? Why do I get the feeling Cosmos was a last minute replacement for a different figure they didn't have ready in time.

Beachcomber was rumored, but never properly confirmed. Cosmos was in the plans for a good while, he even got a product code that's in line with the rest of his wave.

Hopefully I'll find the deluxes and they will be better soon. Sixshot was a hot letdown and Megatron isn't that good either. I wasn't even going to get him, it was an impulse buy. Sigh

Firepower: God Bomber, Shockwave from Galvatron (might sound odd however he's the only voyager to not have a second use yet), bomb burst from mindwipe or possibly crosshairs from Kup, wingspan, and I have no idea for the Titan master maybe black zarak.
Intelligence: leaders are hard since there's not too many uses you can get out of the current molds but I really think Dia Atlas is a good candidate seeing as how the base mode for sky shadow is based on his original one, vector prime out of alpha trion, I like the magnificus idea but I think carnivac is more likely, cloudraker, and maybe shockwave as the Titan master if he's not the voyager in the other set.

Given that most of the rumors that have come out have been true I honestly think that these are real possibilities. Except magnificus and dia atlas since they weren't rumored, but neither was metalhawk and here we are.

Come to think of it, how cool would it be to have a boxset or two of characters we "almost got"? Just to name some that might be relatively within the realm of possibility: Leader Thunderwing, Voyager Flywheels as D-Max suggested, Deluxe Nightbeat or Siren, Legends I dunno but surely there's someone (maybe a Legends-class Repugnus? It'd be a step up from TM, and clearly new-mold Legends or equivalent aren't off the table. Brawn would've been perfect here if he hadn't already gotten a second toy)... the only thing that would be hard would be the Titan Master class since the whole raison d'être is to give better toys to disappointingly-TM characters.
(I mean, obviously, this isn't even so much as speculation since the chances of a boxset with that 'theme' are next to nil - more of a hypothetical perfect scenario I suppose. Still, the idea seems cool to me even if it's not an actual possibility.)

That was the very reason I was thinking of Thunderwing to begin with, honestly. Yes, it would be a little strange to release a head-Thunderwing in one boxset and then a full Leader in another - but, stranger than a TM Brawn and then a Legends one in the same line? Stranger than Powermaster Prime in Wave 1, followed reasonably soon after by a near-direct import of his further-remolded Takara equivalent in a later boxset?
It actually seems to make a lot of sense from that perspective, in fact; Since they already have the head mold they probably wouldn't even need to create a new one, meaning they could (potentially) focus a bit of remolding on the base Sky Shadow figure to make it a little more Thunderwing-y. Same sort of situation with Flywheels, Nightbeat and Siren - they all have head molds already (though switching Nightbeat/Loudmouth wouldn't be a bad idea either) and there are some "close enough" bodies, so it'd almost make them easier to do in a boxset because the necessary alterations already pretty much exist.

Gnaw is the best figure I've gotten, and I love his sharkticon mode, but the robot mode is not good.
Sixshot has been a big disappointment. I swear his knees have gotten looser: he can no longer stand in robot mode unless I actually attempt to pose his legs some so one is in front of the other to keep him upright and balanced. And all his wing stickers have begun to peel. Plus, his modes and transformations are disappointing.
And now Megatron. I like the robot mode mostly, but the tank mode doesn't look very good, and to me the jet mode is worse. And the legs are so difficult despite several transformations. his tanks wheels still won't touch the ground despite the legs clicking in properly. Also, his wing stickers are already scratched and peeling, and the con symbol on the nose is almost gone as well.
The stickers are a poor choice. They are shite, there is no way around it. I do not like them and they are severely detracting from the 2 figures that have him.
I also stand by what I said months ago: Alpha Trion is the best voyager of the line, and appears to be staying there for me. No one has come close to him yet for me.

It's true - thirtysomethings do come to Portland to retire and become baristas.
TaRget also priced Sixshot (as well as TR Soundwave, of course!) for $44.99! I prefer Ross Leader-class prices, but expect to see pics and impressions.....

Sad to hear Sixshot is a floppy mess - I haven't ripped him open yet, but the G1 Sixshot I have nearby is still stiff and tight in the legs, even if he's missing a panel and all his stickers are gone.
I absolutely impulse-bought this TR version because I liked his face....and the promise of a lot more poseability.

The stickers are such a disappointment. They're practically peeling in the box, let alone if you touch them. The only TR figures I have with stickers are the cell phones (Frenzy/Rewind/Stripes/Buzzsaw) and my god they really are shite. There's really no better word for it. (The stickers, not the figures. Figures are actually all quite nice) Plus I just recently this last weekend got all my main-line tfs up on a shelf since I moved house six months ago, but before then they were just thrown into a bucket, (not my choice, much smaller house. Didn't immediately have a shelf to be dedicated to toys) so that didn't help the sticker situation. It just...ughh. I'm not mad, hasbro, I'm just disappointed.

I mean, I get that they're theoretically cheaper than paint so the budget can be redirected elsewhere - and the Voyagers in this line, IMHO, have been pretty great as a whole! - but really now. If you're going to do stickers, they need to be one of two things:
A) Actually good quality; or
B) Placed in areas where stickers are meant to be. I mean again, one of the connection points on Broadside's back panel literally punches a hole in the sticker when you connect it properly. Ugh...

He's by far my fave G1 Megatron figure AND by far my fave Titans figure and easily one of my fave G1 update Transformer figures ever made. Love his look in all 3 modes and he's perfect size for my collection. I love it. Add some silver paint on it to class up the cheap looking grey plastic and paint his grey gun black and stick it in the back of his fusion cannon in robot mode. I don't bother with those pop up bits by sides of his head either.
And sturdy with weight too.

I don't get what the deal with the stickers are on your one. I've had my Megs since early December and played with it a lot cos I find it much fun. No sticker damage at all so far. Makes me wonder if there's a difference in sticker quality.

I mean, I remember the drama in the first few waves when "Blurr didn't used to be a Headmaster this is awful!!" but the hate for stickers seems to be closer to a seething disgust. Not that I disagree: my Rewind's stickers were misaligned and frayed at the edges from the very moment he was unpackaged, and the Autobot symbol on Broadside's chest in particular seems to be peeling off extremely rapidly despite basically never coming into contact with anything, ever.

That would be fun - but I'm leaning towards "Archforce" purple looking snazzier as well as it being usable as a different character too. But Green would be fun I guess as well as being a nice complement to GDO Voyager Megatron.
I think they'd be stretching it a bit far to try to say that mould was Bludgeon though in yellow or green deco. Hooligan or Fearswoop deco might be kinda fun I suppose but both of them are perhaps better suited to the recent RID Stormshot mould.
There is another thing to consider which is that mould is also Blitzwing and Blitzwing is sometimes associated as a Flywheels colourscheme.
I'd be happy with a Nightbeat if he shared a body with Jazz. But I would guess they might be saving Jazz for 2018's new gimmic line.
I guess they could design a Jazz that has Titanmaster ability and also not- and make Nightbeat as the titanmaster version (in advance as a pre-paint) and then with some tweaks release it as Jazz perhaps as a Targetmaster instead. It might work out well as it would mean Jazz could still carry a driver if designed that way (unless that is where his head would end up).
Kurona wrote:Someone on Twitter totally went ahead and painted their Broadside Aerialbots - and man do they look lovely.
Anyone who plans to buy Tidalwave too also has the option of not painting Air Raid Black but just swapping the black one from that toy with the white one and then you have a half white one to make into a G2 of Brestforce deco.
What would most people be more inclined to do with the second set if they did paint them G2 Superion or Decepticons that share the moulds like Blast Off ?

The only time Blitzwing ever had Flywheels' colour scheme was in the Platinum G1 re-release set alongside Astrotrain, where both were clearly wearing colours that were not their norm. In any case TR Blitzwing as shown at Toyfair has a very different colour scheme to Flywheels so it would very easily work.
Why should Nightbeat and Jazz share a body...? The only time the two have ever been connected as such is when Nightbeat was going to be a recolour of Jazz in Thrilling 30 before they went with the Bumblebee mold instead. Which is good because while that mold still doesn't work for Nightbeat, it works a heck of a lot better for him than Jazz - the two characters have wildly different physical characteristics and silhouettes so making the two share a mold just wouldn't work at all.
