I have a gripe though...the day I got my City Commander his chest plate broke. Apparently others have had issues with the head. My gripe is this...
I spent $80+ on City Commander, he broke the day I got it and transformed him the first time, and so I emailed Fansprojects going on 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a peep. I realize they are a small outfit, but you would think that an email could've been answered in 3 weeks?!? Not to mention it would be nice if us consumers were compensated in some way or fashion for these issues. I don't expect anything for free, but come on, there is obviously some serious QC issues. Despite investing $80+ we just have to "suck it up," or "deal with it?" What do ya'll think???

Due to the nature of international orders and the nature of a fan company making unofficial figures, fans are probably on their own with this type of product. I wish that wasn't the case ... just being blunt. That's the problem with buying an unofficial product which is why Hasbro doesn't want items like this being made.

Seibs is right, that's the burden we bear with unofficial figures. Still, if they keep coming up with concepts like this and the WSt Dinobots we'll keep on buying them.
Habsro will have a hard time ever weeding them out at this rate.

To be honest, I am not worried about Hasbro... I don't even look at it that way. Official or unofficial... I simply look at it as they made a product and should be responsible for it.
All in all, I think I am more upset by their lack of follow up with the email that I sent about City Commander. I didn't expect a follow-up that day, heck not even that week, but I would've liked to have gotten something back the same month that I sent it. As a person who works in a customer service capacity, I'd just like to see that they care about those of us shelling out the money to buy their product.
I'm keeping my preorder for Shadow Commander, but their lack of follow-up and/or concern will probably keep me from buying anything they produce in the future...no matter how cool it is.

Have you contacted the retailer from where you purchased your City Commander from? BBTS and TFSource customers, who have had QC problems with their City Commanders have gotten replacement parts from them. Also, FansProject has a statement about not being able to replace broken parts directly, on the bottom side of the City Commander box. So if anyone can help, it would be the store you bought it from, depending who they are.

I haven't been able to use my City Commander set yet as I still don't have a Ultra Magnus. I did take the trailer apart though and inspected all the pieces. Everything on mine seems fine and I won't know about any more possible problems until I get my UM and attach the armour.
I still want them to make Pharaohtron...

But the hands were glued on the wrong way on mine, TFSource have shipped out replacement hands in less than a week, so it may be worth contacting the guys you bought him from rather than Fans Project directly.
I will definitely support Fans Project in the future. My Cliffjumper and Ultra Magnus are now among my favourite figures in my collection.

I disagree with "seibs" statement (but only in the context of City Commander). While I can completely agree KOs are a bane to Hasbro, and they would certainly not want their intellectual property violated (which I could not be more sympathetic), I cannot see how the City Commander would fall into the realm of KO or unofficial figure. Not one piece of this contains properties of Hasbro. I further don't see how Hasbro discourages this sort of creation when Hasbro (and/or FC) even go so far as to have a Fan Customs event making use of Hasbro's properties (Of course they aren't for sale, though) at Botcon. Still, this isn't like the Justitoys releases. This figure doesn't make use of Hasbro parts or insignias, and shouldn't be considered (IMO) an "unofficial figure." It's like a 3rd party making an accessory for your iPod, for example.
Addressing the quality, I can see how Hasbro would not want to be involved in cross-licensing, nor attaching their name to the product. With that said, my City Commander has exhibited none of the problems others are experiencing. I Feel bad for those people, though. I guess I may have gotten lucky, but that's Karma because my Henkei TC and SW are travesties of poor QC.. and those are official releases.. Takara should be ashamed of themselves for attaching their name to them.
Finally, if you check the box of City Commander there's "fine print" disclaiming issues with the figure.. a bit dastardly, but not entirely unexpected

For the people that have been experiencing trouble - have you contacted your online retailer? They would be the ones to handle the issues since they are ones that sold the products to you. This is where using a reliable retailer is best; it's worth the extra fee.
