Dunno if I'll pay the price for that Hotshot. But one thing is sure, I want Crosshair from that wave. Having the original G1 and all.

I still have my original Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. Despite the turret needing some TLC (clothes got stuck on it during its time in storage and left some weird residue) I think I'm good with it. Hasbro deserves brownie point for not defaulting to the original kiddie-appeal/Bumblebee clone iteration of Armada (yet another sports car? No thank you).

Ibhave been using Cloud Ironhide as my Crosshairs stand in for a while and have been quite happy with the result. Initially when I saw this Crosshairs I said "No thank you" but the more I see of it the more it grows on me.

I'm a bit disappointed that Siege Crossair's vehicle mode don't match the G1 toy at all. But the robot mode is perfect. just for this weird fact alone, I want it. Now, to find a Siege Targetmaster that will match...

While Cloud Roadbuster makes a decent Crosshairs (much better as far as vehicle mode goes) it's pretty damn expensive for a D-tier character like crosshairs.

I dont remember whT I paid but I lucked into a better price. Crosshairs has been an A-Llister for my personal Canon for a while now, after I decided to craft a crew of Generations Autobots from the Movie castings. So the price was worth it for me. But I agree, if you are just looki g to fill out a dlot in the collection, totally not worth itWireless_Phantom wrote:Flashwave wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:william-james88 wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:About that Seige Hot Shot, will it be a mainline figure? Mjolner Smashdown (thinking of calling him Boltstrike) lools fantastic. He really did a great job with the chrome. This is my first experience with Smashdown as I have yet to see him in stores but this os everything I wanted from a Hammer Guy.
Grimlock's Forge included two add ons for this figure. The first is a Resin Cast Copy of Smashdown's effect in Lightning Blue. Its a very stiff casting, more hard plastic than the original soft rubber, but it fits very well in the peg hole. (I picked up another Effect from hom copied from Jetfire and it was almost too tight)
the other included new part is a new handle tip. With a hole in it to add a strap. It pegs into the bottom and can be taken off to put into bots with closed fists or like Magnus whos Forearm gauntlets prevent anythibg from passing through his hand.

It doesn't, its like Prime's Trailer. But you might be able to strap some spare guns to it anf argue its a gun buggy

...wait, now retail/Autobot Impactor doesn't even get his helmet crest painted?! Wow, it's almost like Hasbro is determined to make me buy the Amazon 3-pack instead of retail Impactor by making the retail one vastly inferior to the exclusive version. Well, it's working, I guess I have to get it now. At least that means I can use Aragon's parts to give Hot Shot his back turret/shoulder guns.
Spinister and Astrotrain still look flawless though, and while I fell solidly on the negative side of the Barricade debate when he was first revealed, he has grown on me significantly since then, so I'm actually excited for him now. I think it was because I heard someone say the figure reminded them of his design from WfC the game, that's a win for me.
bacem wrote:so, what does astrotrain's launchpad/train cart parts serve in robot mode? because i do not see it being incorporated on the pictures there.
It doesn't combine or merge with the robot mode in any way, but it works as a storage crate for his weaponry.

Keep in mind, these promo pics often end up being somewhat inaccurate to the final paint job (see Studio Series Leader Optimus' ab piece, which flipped back and forth between unpainted red and red painted with silver in different appearances; specifically, in its "black background" shots it was unpainted red, but the final toy we've seen from in-hand shots had the silver paint). I would be surprised if the final toy didn't have the crest painted.

Wirhout a deep dive into the photos, I think he is a bit bigger than the Dearmored Magnus, so a little closer to the old Ultra Class than Voyager, but the Trailer still takes up a chunk of the "parts count", so to speak

$50 kind of hurts, though, especially if the new "Leader Class" is roughly Voyager-sized.
I'm liking Spinister too, especially the colors, but I tend to get weird QC issues with helicopter bots (for example, my Generations Whirl has the "gearing" misassembled), and $20 seems really steep for a Deluxe.
Has anyone had any QC issues with this line so far?

Unicron Magnus wrote:Has anyone had any QC issues with this line so far?
Back in 2017 when Hasbro/Takara moved their production from China to Vietnam, the QC issues were rampant and horrible. I experienced wrong pairing of guns, misassembled legs, loose hips, even missing parts and bits. Both in the Titan Return and The Last Knight lines.
But now, I think they have FINALLY got their s#it together. Some issues are merely design issues like Siege Starscream chest panel or SS Old Camaro Bumblebee's roof. So far, every single Siege or Studio Series figures I bought have been absolutely PERFECT. No loose bits, no missasembly, no weird accessories issues, no missing parts. For the whole of the Siege line, there is absolutely no stinkers either! Every single figures so far are rated from "good" to "mind-blowing".
It's been a long while since we got such a perfect line.

I've not had any terrible QC issues, the only two that come to mind are incredibly minor and basically non-issues. My Chromia feels a bit loose, despite nothing actually being loose. Moreso it's just incredibly smooth joints. The only other QC issue I have is my Magnus' ratchets feel a bit weak when his armor's on and his waist is, again, incredibly smooth so it feels loose. Overall though, this line's been killing it with great QC

There's been some qc issues like starscream's chest and one of those shoulder armours on Magnus not lining up to tab in.

My first siege Springer was missing a right front wheel (bought from Pulse). Second Springer (from amazon) has all his wheels but a yellow over spray on his helicopter roof assembly. Also each one had very different tolerances in the various joints and panel clips.
He’s first figure i’ve had with glaring issues... besides first run ironhide’s loose leg panels and Starscream’s chesr.

Most likely they wanted to have some sort of familiar decos to use for the molds' redecos, but also probably wanted to have an equal number of Autobot and Decepticon weapon pairs in the whole Siege line (seven pairs of each), and so made Cratermaker and Fireline into a new Decepticon team.Wolfman Jake wrote:Can one of the Transformers lore keepers here explain to me why Cratermaker and Fireline look exactly like Powerbomb and Gunlift from Japanese G1 (Zone), but are branded here as Decepticons instead of the Autobots they originally were?
Though, back in 1990-1991, Takara sold nearly all of the Decepticon Micromaster teams as Autobots instead, so this new Micromaster team colored like two Japanese-exclusive Autobot Micromaster decos but sold by Hasbro as Decepticons is kinda like an inverse of how Takara made almost everyone into an Autobot in Japan back in the early 90s.

That's got to be one of the most convoluted, weirdest homages Hasbro has done with a repaint. Wow.

It's just conjucture, really. For all we know, they were like:
"We need redeco ideas"
"What about those Japanese toys?"
"O, all right. Let's make them Decepticons, I mean, redecos back then switched sides, right?"

I wasn't gonna get that mold at first, but after replaceing my Deluxe Classics Seekers with a bunch of Voyager size Siegekers and adding non-armored Siege Shockwave to put next to Voyager size Megatron, it kinda feels weird to have Soundwave in there as a suddenly gigantic by comparison Leader class figure. I'll definitely keep the TR figure in the display, but I think the Soundblaster version of the Siege dude is a definite purchase for me now. The only thing is that I love all of the TR cassettes; especially Rumble and Frenzy; and I don't really wanna replace them in my display with the kinda dinky Siege Micromaster versions. I guess they can all coexist on the same shelf. No big deal.

More I see Barricade the more I almost want to get him. But I still think I like my TFCC Barricade w/Frenzy slightly more. Already having Prowl and soon Smokescreen in that mould also makes him easier to skip.
Does anyone else think that Spinister may be repainted into Rotorstorm? Thats the only reason I am thinking of holding off getting him.
Also does anyone else think we may get new voyager class Cyclonus and Scourge molds in the next part of this trilogy. Seeing as its a big push for Sunbow G1 accurate Cybertronian alt modes? I would love at least good voyager Scourge.
Apeface and IDW Impactor cant get here soon enough.

Blitzwing is just a personal favorite (I got the original off the shelf) and I would have loved to see an update.
I will be shocked if we don't get a Sunstreaker in next year's line. I want to complete the '85 Deluxe Cars lineup, and I trust that will happen across the entire WfC line. I'm also happy with TR Blitzwing, though my copy has QC issues with the chest. I wouldn't have thought twice about him, except that Astrotrain is amazing.
I would like to see Generations versions of characters from other media. Barricade was a pleasant surprise, but kind of a one-off. Strongarm needs a high-quality release, and after their appearance in the comics reboot, I would also like to see Shadow Striker and Flamewar.
Honestly, any new fembot molds would be appreciated. I'm glad we got a half dozen across Siege and Selects, but hopefully the next WfC line keeps the gender representation while introducing new designs.

Yeah, I’m familiar with the G1 transformations, I have both original Lambos. I just thought that would be an easy mod for Hasbro rather than a completely new mold. Some have mentioned using the back of the Sideswipe mold ending up as the front of a potential Sunstreaker figure.
Speaking of Wheeljack, that would be another figure I would like to have seen.

But then the car hood wouldn't be the legs. We have had enough half assed sunstreakers in the past, i am sick to death of him always getting just a placeholder figure.

For me Blitzwings already got a decent update in TR/Legends so I'd want the other micromaster team mates doing and a return to legends class figures to finish of the minibots (but only if they are moving away from the not quite cybertronian/not quite earth alt modes).
I know Potp had inferno but hes one of the few updates that's a just a minimal effeot repaint rather than being a true visual representation of him (great for stickering up as other characters tho).
