eBay seller, yayabeee, has posted several new pictures of ROTF concept Corvette, which will be featured in the upcoming film. The seller has both Sideswipe and Sideways listed as the name in the auction. (Likely an error.)

I mean, the design looks like it was made by a fanboy, so why not match it to a character that shares that? (Mind you, I'm not saying that's a bad thing for either.)

I can't believe you went there!
Every bit as sweet as the first pics. we saw. Although, somebody didn't quite nail the transformation perfectly back into his alt. mode. I know, thats being anal, but you have to consider these things before doing the close-up shots. Still a damn nice toy.
As for the silver, that has nothing to do with previous character colors and everything to do with the cinematics and what colors transfer better during the filming and editing process and how the CGI folks have to deal with the light reflection/refraction aspects.
That's why we didn't get our all red Optimus Prime and this is why we won't see a red Sideswipe or Cliffjumper on screen. Red is the hardest color they have to deal with. Silver, surprisingly, is easier to deal with. A lot more versatile color which is partly why it's being used so much for the TF movies.

As for the complicated looking hip joint, I'm assuming the "double anterior" joints do not serve any functional purpose? Looks kinda rubbery, so maybe only for aesthetic purpose?
You are correct. What you can't see are clear balljoints in the hips. Mirrors are rubber too.

Combine the 2...all the makings of a sucky "B" movie. Nightbird was tolerable in the G1 cartoons back when some of us were kids.
Sorry about the tangent. Even 2 vent lines on each side of his mouth piece would help break up the monochrome look. All told he's still the first movie figure I want to lay my hands on.

Oh well, here's hoping the inevitable repaint may be blue.

Oh, so that's why they're using silver a ton (which is annoying), I kept wondering what the hell is so great about silver. Well, it's stll retarded, Sideswipe should be red, and if Hound is in it, he damn well better not be silver....he better be at least some type of green. Thought I saw a shot of what might of been Hound and it was silver a while back, meh...

Some of the on the set pics had a couple of the military rigs. I remember one pic.that had a very sleek looking black or dark grey jeep or assault "crossover" SUV and some very streamlined ATV's.
I could see that jeep becoming something like Hound but I agree that it would have to be green. (Although with our luck it's first run would be desert cammo)
Another secret about the silver...if you scratch a silver car on the movie set, it's easier to do on-site touch up and have it match perfect than it is if you scratch a colored car. Why do you think it took Prime so long to show up for the city fight. They wanted that truck on that particular set as little as possible so he only rolled in after the street was already blown to crap. No flying debris to scratch a multi-colored paint job. I do paint/finish work for a living(mostly cabinet & furniture but I've worked with automotive finishes) and I wouldn't want that touch-up job.
