Nope, they're meant to be like that. They just look awkward because of how the knees are posed.

Man, those kids sure look like they are having fun though. I mean, when I used to play with my transformers, I too used to hold them perfectly still.

Didn't you see the trailers? The Dinobots in the film are gargantuan, scaled to Cybertronian dinosaur scale rather than Earth dino scale. Optimus even rides Grimlock in the Super Bowl trailer! The knight-esque "steed & rider" aspect of the Dino Sparkers is the entire point of those toys. They were even originally gonna be called "Jousters" or "Joust Sparkers".shockblast2 wrote:This is it? These are the toys for TF4? What a joke! And they want $15 for a deluxe for this nonsense. That is robbery of highway robbery! Especially those dino sparker things. I mean, what the hell! They look like knights riding horses. And how in the world are they going to explain the size differences? The dinobots make the 86 movie scene with Devastator inside Astrotrain seem logical. Look how small Optimus is riding Grimlock! Let alone Drift.
Oh, I've been waiting to make the following joke (to anybody, that is). *clears throat*shockblast2 wrote:This is an embarrassment to the TF brand. Surely the Generations line toys will be better than this. Can't be any worse. At least I hope not.
This brand has survived a Countdown to Extinction, and being On the Edge of Extinction! It's even survived an event that was such a big Crisis! The Day of Human Extinction. So I think it's a safe bet that it'll last through the Age of Extinction as well.

Haters gonna hate.
After all, the guy who posted those original pics of him couldn't recommend the figure high enough. The review was a positive one.

Is there anything that's not horridly mistransformed?
It looks like 90% of Slug's mass is on his limbs...
I like the look of... Scorn? Slash? The Spinosaurus. But I don't want to start a collection of Deluxe+ robot dinosaurs when I already got basically that in Cyberverse-size with the Prime Predacons.

Second... Thank you to Sabrblade for jumping right in and being the voice of logic and reason (as always) and explaining some of the inconsistencies with the pictures. Not a single point or comment of his that I didn't support 100%.
Thirdly... leave the kids in the pics alone. 5 bucks says they were bribed into doing the promo shots with the promise of first grab at the figures, they followed their cues to the letter and, most especially with the kid in the green shirt, walked off the set with their new toy, shaking his head and muttering "Are you f***ing KIDDING ME??" under his breath. I know my youngest son would have done that although he's too old now to be a viable choice for such pictures.
Now, as for my take on these figures: Are you f***ing KIDDING ME??? Really?
One figure... so far there is ONE deluxe figure that I'll be buying and he's staying in his alt mode. That being the '67 Camaro 'Bee.
Keeping in mind that I am capable of viewing these toys from a kids pov since I not only have kids but I'm also the "uncle" to my friends' kids (who are all younger than my own kids) that knows the names and transformations of all these newer Transformer toys whereas their own parents are clueless. So I get to pump these little buggers for input and I can tell you that many of my young nephews are going to be greatly insulted by Hasbro dumbing down their product line and flat-out pissed off that their Transformers have less articulation than a Power Ranger toy or even the G1 toys that I show them on rare occasion. I don't know who was doing the product research for Hasbro but whoever it was got the RH line confused with the Movie line and did so in the most horrible way imaginable. I wish them luck maintaining any dignity as they're packing up their cubicle and walking out the front door of corporate HQ with a brick-former shoved up their a** by a mob of angry kids and parents.
This experiment is going to be a dismal failure. You don't make a darker, edgier version of the TF movies with even more astounding visual effects and giant, bad-ass, complexly designed characters and then give the kids crap versions of the characters to play with at home. They want whats on the screen...PERIOD! Kid Psych 101 and Hasbro just failed the course miserably.
As for you adult fans... sucks to be you. I'll get my black Camaro and MAYBE the G1 style Prime. That's up in the air since the last pics I saw of it left me feeling greatly underwhelmed. They made some seriously lazy mistakes on that figure and turned what Bay intended as a respectful tribute for the fanboys into a half assembled rush job of a figure. Once again, Hasbro failed to do their homework and shoved something out the door that was just crap and figured that ignorant consumers would snatch it up... and many of you will.
Two figures AT MOST Hasbro. That's it. You got a small fortune out of me on the first two movie lines, a fair chunk on the last movie but you aren't getting sh** out of me this time around. That should tell you something about your product lines.

MY 5 year old daughter is a HUGE fan of rescue bots and she got three bots boulder, chase and heatwave. She won't play with heatwave and doesn't want the other bots because THEY DON"T LOOK LIKE WHAT THEY SEE ON SCREEN. Big mistake HASBRO, you just needed to match the color scheme and the faces of the bots and then instead of selling the actual show characters you invented random rescue guys? stupid stupid mistake.
This is happening again with the movie toys. FYI no well educated (I hate to say it but, people with disposable income) parents of young kids are going to let their kid watch this movie. It's already been said that the movie is not for kids, and then you make a bunch of toys for really really little kids. What the hell are you thinking?

still looks like a cheap KO to me. Doesnt matter if its the greatest figure in the world if it looks like crap, feels cheaply made (im guessing these use the same plastic as TFP) & is going to be sold at high prices then it deserves every bit of hate it gets. Evasion Prime looks like a great figure but im not going to pay almost $25 for something that looks like a cheap knock off.

LOL...I like that. Hopefully you are right. Although I could see a day where all voyagers and deluxes are scrapped all together for just legends size transformers. If this line flops and they lose a bunch of money I would expect some changes.
Look how small they are too! They look pre-2012 scout size. Oh Hasbro. You are screwing yourselves. It is painful to see these reveals. I wish they would hurry up with the generations reveals so I can forget about this junk. These reveals make the DOTM figures look like Masterpiece figures.

There is no such thing as cheap plastic per se. There is prime and regrind/densified. Most injection molders today are blending the two. That is why the quality sucks. Just await until time and things like light have their way with your toys. If it is anything like the stuff we sell, you are going to be pissed when pieces start to become brittle and crumble. Give them 10 or so years. My best advice would be to clean them only with dry dusting and keep the out of direct sunlight.

Actually, I would imagine these kids being paid models. And I'm not down on the kids, I'm down on the photographer that pretty much said "Act like you're having fun...but don't have too much fun."

In-Hand Images of Voyagers and Deluxes
OK, some instead of all. But they all are the more complicated figures, hence the 8+.

Excellent, thanks GoldRabbit! I checked them out and they are decent. Not sure I will buy any. But, they are far better than the other reveals. Now, here is the 10K question. What are the price points? Anyone know vs the simplified line? I will be shocked if they are the same.

They will be in the same region as the last few lines as far as I know. By the by, TakaraTomy have their own take on the line. Like Hasbro, it's split between "Lost Age" which covers the kid-friendlier toys, and "Movie Advanced" which covers not only Movie Generations, but also throws in repaints and retools of past figures, some as new (skipped) characters. Highlights include Movie Payload repainted as Dispensor, and RotF Sideways as DotM Dino:

I'm not into the movieverse, but I like the idea of the classic Freightliner cabover with the moviebot.

Come on. Does everything MUST have some shiny Takaraesque coat of paint to not "look cheap"? I bought Infiltration OP today and I just transformed him without instructions. The robot itself is well detailed and articulated. He feel as solid and high quality as the infamous HFTD Battle Blades Optimus Prime. Then, the transformation. Wow. Very clever, challenging but not too hard, and also very intuitive. Plus a lot of fun! Finally, the vehicle mode is PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL, will all the right paint aps in the right places. Sure, the resulting vehicle is very small and compact, but the masterpeice level of engeneering and design make up for it.
Fully worth the whole 35$ taxes included that I paid for. One of the best TF I had in a long while.

Once again, a 35$ (total) that was REALLY worth it! The transformation, like Optimus's, is easy, intuitive, clever, and fun to do. I did it without the instructions. Funny because the instructions are now EXTREMELY CLEAR AND IN FULL COLORS!
The robot mode is just FABULOUS. Grimlock dont look like a pile of junk but like a bad-ass samurai. My only complain is his weapon is a mace with a weird placement for the handle instead of a flaming katana. As for the T-Rex mode, it's intimidating and fearsome looking. FOC Grimlock is a peice of garbage compared to the PERFECT AoI version.
I cant recommend the first two AoI voyagers highly enough! As the voyagers are concerned, so far, the AoI line is very, VERY promising. I can't wait for Bulkh... I mean, Hound to come out. Even Galvatron might surprise me.
On a side note, I do hope Grimlock will not go all GPS on me down the line...

Snarl looks constantly mistransformed, with awkward arm posturing in robot mode and even more-so, the tail in both robot and dinosaur mode.
As for Slug, well, the body of the robot mode look like it's mainly spine, with really heavily laden feet and arms.
Guess it'll be going with the rest of my movieverse figures - unpurchased and still warming shelves in the stores.
