Power of the Primes Wave 4 Deluxe Novastar found at U.S. retail

I just got Moonracer here, so Novastar is a given to get. This should also mean Slug, Rippersnapper and Blackwing will be sticking around for a while longer.

Well there you go, wave 4 has not been skipped in the US.

Okay, so, after a bunch of priorities kept putting it off for me, I finally took the time to open up my Blast Off w/ Megatronus set.

Being a Takara-original design, Blast Off is a bit more complex to transform than the average Hasbro-designed CW Deluxe, but he's got zero QC issues.

Megatronus, however, I'm sad to say, is not so pristine. His left shoulder joint has a defect. The inner cavity on the arm that the shoulder peg slots into is missing some plastic that is meant to make the hole a complete circle, making the cavity slightly larger than it should be and thus making the arm's connection to the torso rather loose and delicate. It'll stay on if I'm gentle with the little figure and don't move the arm, but it does come off rather easily. On the flipside, this defect does give the left arm a greater range of motion than it was intended to have, but it also makes Megatronus look like his left shoulder is constantly sagging and slouching while his right shoulder remains firm at attention.

I'll get Novastar simply because this mold makes a great gestalt arm. Paired with Moonracer, it'll give good symmetry and balance to a combiner...

The Hunt is on! I'm hoping she somehow appears this week, but when I went to Target today, there was no sign of wave 2+, but plenty of Cyberverse.

Yes. Someone on Twitter said you can pop the arms off at the shoulders and the forearms are on mushroom pegs so they can easily come off too. Keep in mind I haven't done this and wouldn't recommend it because there always a chance of breaking the joint.

Which is why I'm keeping mine as is. I did have to cut off some flash from the left leg, in the combiner port cavity. It left a tiny nick but it's hardly visible.
By the way, my clear Megatronus has a bit of a paint oddity, in that the right arm is two-toned. Upper arm is a darker grey, found nowhere on him, while the rest is the same grey as the rest of the figure. Is that me being "lucky" again?

I just went ahead and did the arm swap on my Hasbro Blast Off. It was pretty easy. First, I popped the arms off at the shoulder ball joints and switched them. Then I slid off the arms from the bicep down at the mushroom peg joints and switched those around. The arms are now configured exactly as they are on Takara's Shuttler/Movor figure. It doesn't change the fact that the hollow bits in the forearms are exposed in shuttle mode (Shuttler/Movor is like that too, unfortunately), but it does help with some of the tolerance issues with the shoulders getting in the way of other parts of the shuttle.

I wonder how much of a bother it would be to rebuild Novastar to transform like Firestar's actual cartoon design does, or if I'd be better off customizing a TR Kup to be her cartoon body.

I just picked up Novastar at my Walmart this morning. She finally showed up with Blackwing and Rippersnapper.

Dont waste your time looking for her at Target, the way things have gone retailers are rarely in sync. If you go hunting for her this week, just look for her at Walmart

So has Optimal Optimus (not Throne) been spotted at US retail yet? I cannot remember.

So, anyone else camping HTS right now for SDCC exclusives? I started at 9am just to be safe since they're so unpredictable. Hopefully this isn't another 2 or 3pm year.

I am. I'm not worried that I won't get it, since I do still have my BBTS pre-order for PP-43, but it would be nice to get it in a week or two instead of in January.

Yup, been waiting since 8 A.M. It's been quite the wait, especially since I'm sick, so it's been quite a pain. Hopefully this waiting will be worth it.

Yep, I am. Last year I went out to lunch when Grotusque was made available and sold out by the time I got back. This year, I packed a lunch.

I dot think this will sell out, as its a more expensive item and those have not sold out as quickly in the past. Plus there is a 2 per household limit.

I'm not so much worried about missing out, I'm just impatient. I have him on preorder from BBTS, but it would sure be nice to have him in a few weeks instead of January.

Well this is intereesting. As a general rule, if there are any promo codes, exclusive items will not appear until after those codes expire (11:59 am EDT/9:59am PDT)...just for future reference.

On HTS I got a *generic error* at the end, but paypal confirmed the order, so I hope it went through. I'm kind of irked shipping was charged, I thought shipping was free $50 and up...???

Will, I expect this to sell out very quickly. You're forgetting that it comes with four exclusive Prime Masters essential to anyone wanting to complete the set. Plus Primitive Prime sold out in 20 minutes last year and the big IDW comic crossover set sold out in 10 minutes. Size has nothing to do with it, popular items will sell out no matter how big or expensive it is.

Just messaged you guys about this. Was able to get my order through for the THRONE OF THE PRIMES. Took forever though, first they changed out of stock to IN STOCK, and then the add to cart button came up after about 9:12am pst. Then it was an ordeal for the site to get to the subsequent pages.

Finally got it to go through! I had to keep opening new tabs for new payment attempts and closing previous tabs for each failed attempt. Finally got one to reach the successful order page. Which now that I saw the total prices, would be 10-14$ more than what the total cost of the Throne on HTS was. So its not terrible, but people now have to wait longer.

Worse case scanerio is you get 2 since thats the limit per household.

Still ridiculous. They should have had a set time that this one was coming out. Not everyone can sit and refresh a website every two minutes.

Something was messed up with the Paypal checkout process and I ended up with only a single Bumblebee set. I was on my phone when they went up, it just took that long. Really painful this year, which was a surprise after the relative ease of the past 3-4 since they relaunched on new software.

Oh I get its not ideal but at least there is another option other than scalpers

It takes a few minutes. I ordered mine almost as soon as it was available, but I didn't get an email until about 12:15.

Oh so close. I was right there waiting and got in past proceed to payment...when page loaded, it had my old address. Had to go back a page, change address down-arrow, payment again....and sold out, lol. Lame for me but glad some people got their orders in.

Started watching at 6:00am EST and stuck with it until 12:30pm, when I decided I couldn't put off grocery shopping any longer. Came back and bam - insufficient inventory.

i had the cards and primal right when they went up. then spent 27 minutes stuck at the address verification. afterwords the cards were removed from my purchase for being sold out. at least I snagged primal
