For the hell of it here are a few: a 40" 3d led tv or a 50" normal tv, a ps4 xbox one & games for both, a years supply of booze (ok maybe half a year), a high class escort or 3 mid class escorts, a used car, a months supply of gasoline. See far more better things to spend $800 on.
Where you shop you at 3d tvs 859 and up where I live some of them are sale nice but nice enough to buy could be little better bigger expensive size of robotech transformers I never got into that series
What did you mean about robotech?

This looks awesome.
I can't afford it.

It's odd.
Wolf, for $800 you can get almost the entire remaining 1st season Autobot cast in Masterpiece form (when they finally get made and released. :)

I never thought of it that way, but you're right, it would make for great stop mo' animation! But seriously, if I bought this, and that's a massive IF, I'd be too scared to touch it! I would just sit back and bask in the glory of it's awesomeness. If you see the way some guys do stop mo', they break apart the toy into it's component parts to achieve certain poses, I couldn't imagine breaking apart something this brilliant!

On the other hand, 800 bucks is too blood for my rich.
On another hand, the cut away parts look awesome.
On another other hand, it's a Dreamwave design.
Dreamwave.

The $800 was the bare-bone converted price, without the meat of the import charges and profit margins. Mmmmmmmm, meat...

My first thought was that there was a Matrix to go in his chest and another one to put on the display base... But if they are one and the same, you're right, this thing must be quite large. I could see how the huge price tag would start to make more sense if that was the case.

It is the same one, this thing is about two feet tall.
The price is due to the size and the fact that this is mostly diecast, plus heavy on paint.
Goddamn that thing just looks better with each pic, I wish I could aford him.

Thus far, it seems like the metal armor is limited to the arms, the front of the legs and hips... Im thinking that MP1 may have as much metal content as this figure does. If that is the case, then I dont think the price is justified... masterpiece voltron, 40th anniversary mazinger z and MP-1 seem like such a bargain comparing their price point at their time of release.
I wonder what an MP-1 like figure would cost nowadays if the masterpiece line had honored that much metal content and size in all of their figures, maybe it would cost $300-450 dollars, who knows...
Cool figure nevertheless, nice display stand. Nice box, kinda like 40th anniversary mazingers, big box with smaller boxes inside to keep the figure and armor and accesories separate and protected...
Very nice!

ill second your "Goddam". i had no idea he was that big. what i love about this thing is: the glowing eyes and matrix, and the smokestacks... strange i know. but look at them!Dead Metal wrote:It is the same one, this thing is about two feet tall.MegaDump wrote:My first thought was that there was a Matrix to go in his chest and another one to put on the display base... Any Transformer that can't actually transform is, for me, not really a Transformer, or worth collecting. Especially considering this thing's price tag.
Agree 100%, a transformer must transform... pass on this one too.

Glad I ordered it. Looking forward to it. The engineering is amazing, the details are phenomenal, and it will immediately be the centrepiece of any room I put it into. Completely worth the $800 to me.

Disagree. I bet big money if you had a real doll sitting in the same room it would draw way more attention than Terminator Prime...

This Ultra Magnus figure seems to be a white repaint of UM 01, Ultimetal Optimus Prime, in a similar color scheme to MP 02 Ultra Magnus. Judging from the packaging seen in the picture below, it seems to feature removeable Ultra Magnus Armour, in a similar yet much updated fashion to the G1 toy.
A battle damaged version of Ultimetal UM 01 Optimus Prime was also present at the show. This is probably UM 02.
The following pictures come from the Cybergundam Facebook page.

Hasbro and Takara should license out the name "Action Masters" for these types of products. The recent Gohkin Art Storm Roadbuster, Alpha Trion, Optimus Prime and Grimlock would have been phenomenal candidates for a licensed Action Masters sub-line (especially the latter 3 with their cartoon accuracy).

I did not. I tried getting a sample for Seibertron.com but came up empty handed unfortunately. For a non-transforming item, it was simply too expensive. $200 I would have been in. Heck, the Hot Toys Optimus Prime is more than half the price and while I'm in on that it's more an excuse to finally get a Hot Toys figure than anything for me. I also didn't get the massive Black Zarak and Scorponok "Action Masters" even at 50% off from HLJ when they had their Christmas sale because I couldn't justify spending $500 plus shipping on those two for non-transforming Transformers.
I'd rather take that money and get Dai Atlas and the Big Powered giftset, Browning, Blue Bacchus, Black Shadow, Grandus, or Galaxy Shuttle. Maybe when I finish up my Japanese G1 collection I might consider large items like that.
Even I have my limits!

In the beginning the Autobots and neither the Decepticons could transform at all.
Then due to the war, the Autobots turned to stealth and invented the art of transforming.
So yeah... Transformers weren't always Transformers, but just plain robots, consumer goods and military hardware

That's all well and fine, but our buddy Magnus DOES transform. So he's got no business showing up naked and non-transforming.

Too bad though. Been looking forward to your pics if you managed to procure them. I was also considering those "Action" masters (just one btw)but the d@mn shipping killed me too.(despite the 50% off by hlj.
But these UM are simply sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
