I think that was a deleted scene from Ep 3 when he was trying on the armor in case something happened on Mustafar. Sidious didn't want to do any tailoring.

Ah well, at least they haven't done anything like ret-con all the Stormtroopers into identical clones of some Australian guy. That would really kill my suspension-of-disbelief.

When George Lucas lost his mind.
Anyway, I think OP looks even worse now that we can see what he looks like from the back.
On the other hand, that pop-up book looks cool!

Let me answer that with a quote:

(Ages: 4 & up /Approx. Retail Price: $44.99/Available: May 2014)
The Leader Scale OPTIMUS PRIME figure from Hasbro is part of the TRANSFORMERS brand’s popular GENERATIONS action figure line and is inspired by the upcoming TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION movie from Paramount Pictures.
He looks decent enough, if he really is Leader-sized I will admit he looks too simple to transform for his size.
What some people unfortunately seem to forget that Leader Class and up have been overly simple the past few years, I mean look at Prime's Weaponizers which were roughly the same size.

the truck is awesome, can't complain about a thing like that.
But the robot mode??? what the hell happened to prime???
Hey Hasbro, I have 10 words for you:
IF IT AIN'T BROKEN DONT F-ING FIX IT, DAMN IT!!!!
ROTF Leader Prime was the summum of the bayverse primes... and then it all went to hell.
Ain't gonna get that at all. not even for the truck mode. It is safer to say now that I will definitively get Masterpiece Soundwave... with all his cassettes...
if that ugly thing is what is yet to come from the movie franchise, hell, it will be Masterpieces only. at least I'll get challengin transformations, quality and true great toys.
Hasbro can take that thing and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

I know! But is it me, or is your non-TF coverage very random and unfocused? Death's Head II?! Woo? I don't get it.
Still, how bout that Carnage?

I do have to agree and say it does look more like a Voyager than a Leader. The back kibble isn't bad, just about as much kibble on this one as the ROTF, just handled differently. Hopefully the rest of the Leaders for this line look as good. Leader Grimlock... dang... the thought of it...
Galvatron... please? I still have hopes that he's gunna be in AOE. XD
You are insane. If you think that rotf leader prime had the same amount of kibble. Rotf prime simply had back kibble.. And other than the folded up wheel wells, his back kibble was accurate... This thing however has a ridiculous amount of kibble everywhere.. Huge panels just hanging off.. If you can't see that good for you.. But a lot of us aren't liking the direction hasbro is taking this movie line.

What some people unfortunately seem to forget that Leader Class and up have been overly simple the past few years, I mean look at Prime's Weaponizers which were roughly the same size.
I think what you seem to forget is that the weaponizers weren't leader class figures.. They were weaponizers, and their lower price reflected their simplicity.. This is a true leader class figure with the $45 price tag to boot. The last leader figures we got were bumblebee, sentinel, and ironhide.. And I certainly don't remember a simplicity trend with those.
So you see, no one is forgetting anything. This is brand new and it's bad.. Really bad, and if its any indication of how simple the rest of the line is.. It's a major disappointment to those of us who have actually enjoyed the movie designs, and a decent amount of the movie toys.
And lastly.. This is a $45 toy, what parent is going to buy this for their kid? I've never seen a kid in a toy aisle ask their parents for a leader figure let alone their parents say yes. The leader class and human alliance figures should be aimed more towards collectors, because they are the ones with the money to spend..
I fear hasbro has overlooked the size of their collecting market on this one.

From the looks of it, it's an Anakin figure that you can add armor on to be Darth Vader. Doesn't make any sense beyond being a gimmick, like buying two figures for the price of (probably slightly less than 2 figures).

Fair, however, someone will still want a "BETRAYAL" for this specific iteration of bayformers

Hasbro has been making Marvel toys for the last 4 or 5 years but I don't remember why Marvel awarded the license to Hasbro. I know Toy Biz continued making non Marvel comic figures for a little while after but I am not sure if they are still making toys.

I'm hearing theories that this OP was simply "inspired" by the AOE design, which I'm hoping is true. Not exactly thrilled by the design.
Frankly, while I do prefer OP with his classic windshield chest, I'd rather do without it if it's going to be more fake kibble.

Nope. No forgiveness left. Fresh out.
But yeah, all the movie characters get so generic looking because you can't see the vehicle parts in the robot mode. (compare with Masterpiece Prowl, for instance.) This looks like any ole action figure — or often in the movie, they look like just a mass of gray parts moving around. It's hard to even tell them apart.
In short, I think Bay knows how to make amazing, eye-popping ACTION movies (albeit mighty generic ones), but can't make a TF movie respectful of the brand, history, and characters. It's a hodgepodge of too many styles and sources... with a side helping of racist/potty humor.
Ah well. BUT back on the positive. Truck mode looks pretty. And if they bring back Cullen (and hopefully Welker and Berger), that will be a huge victory in the midst of many flops, IMHO. Cullen has shined with amazing, resounding, chilling, kind and heart-felt performances in the three films. I have to give that man a respectful tip of the cowboy hat. (I might have to buy a cowboy hat to do it, but you get my drift.) If he is involved, I know I will still go see the film... even in spite of the missing chest windows.

But then I actually read the article and realized this is supposed to be the Leader Class ...
I mean, the excuse of, well this is a new design doesn't really cut it like it did for TF07 Leader Prime, damn this is pretty bad.
Posted by Sabrblade on October 12th, 2013 @ 5:46am CDT
His head design seems to be moreso than his chest windows, since there have been many many many Optimus toys that lacked th chest windows but still made the head design a priority.saucerdo wrote:Prime's windows are his signature.
Yup.saucerdo wrote:Can you think of Starscream without the cockpit?
Helmetless? Well, every TF has always had a helmet, regardless of their shape. But if you mean Megatron with a different, non-bucket-shaped helmet, then yes indeed. Very easily.saucerdo wrote:Megatron helmetless or without his arm-gun?
Same without the arm gun.
He was just black in a mainstream series, so definitely.saucerdo wrote:A non-yellow bumblebee?
Yet, they renamed him to go with his less-Wheeljacky looks.saucerdo wrote:Remember why Movie Wheeljack was not popular? Yep, they did mess with his helmet...

Some sites don't hotlink well, it shows for you because it's still in your cache. If you cleared your cache or used a different browser, you might see how it doesn't work.
