Next Amazon Exclusive Transformer Toys are the Deepest Cuts from IDW so Far

This is peak monkey's paw stuff. Wanted more figures of IDW original fembots, Hasbro answers with Ruckleyverse nobodies.

If these girls are just basic repaints of the deluxe Prime Arcee and Legacy Elita-1 molds, it would be an easy pass. But if the retooling is heavy and creative like the previous Legacy IDW 2 packs, it may be worth getting.

Very interesting, so this is the next set to go with the current two? I've got some ideas for molds if they go as heavy with the retools as they have the other sets.




New head, backpack, shoulders, maybe feet too? In the end it comes down to parts layout but I think they could do something convincing with this mold making it unrecognizable from a movie figure (which I think would actually be required and probably would entirely derail this whole idea).

For Kaskade... I'm really trying to resist saying a Shadow Striker repaint, but I'm sure that's where they're headed. Surprise me, Hasbro.

I think Velocitron IDW Blurr is the more intuitive starting point for Javelin. I also would like anything other than a Side Burn Kaskade, but with such a deep fembot cut, I'm not going to complain in any event.

My bad, this is correct. I forgot because she did basically nothing and was in like 3 issues.

Still, this should've been Velocity.

Not going to pretend that I liked that universe, but I did like Javelin. Despite being a minor character she managed to have more personally then most of the main characters in the book and I would be happy to get a toy of her.

Not my cup of tea. Though it will be interesting to see what the reuse will be for them.

Meanwhile, Stormbringer Thunderwing and Tidal Whale (Two of IDW's best redesigns) lay [officially] forgotten. Alongside even updates of neglected/forgotten G1 figures like Blue Bacchus and/or the Firecons (original moulds, not retools). I know in contrast to HasTak, I have an eye for completing sets. But at least some attention should be paid to reinventions of popular characters before barrel-scraping redecos.

I could see those being a future exclusive capsule, maybe for Amazon, since we basically have analogs for each of those characters out or coming, all the way down to how Needlenose connects to Skyquake.

I am not going to say no to these new comic bots, but the lack of Velocity is truly disappointing. Kaskade is especially random.

Blue Bacchus has had one (1989)

If we make the distinction between club and regular releases, Black Shadow has one up them.

That is true. Meanwhile the reality is, in light of four (more with 3P) releases. You can count the media appearances of Runabout and Runamuck on one hand.

It's not really the amount that matters, it's the role they had in those appearances... which isn't really much for TV. That's where the comics come in.

I got Axlegrease and she's pretty damn good! Even more solid than Scraphook. I never paid attention to her altmodes on the pictures so I was surprised that she was a "MadMax" car instead of a toeing. She still have the hook though. I'm also pleased that they made an effort to make an actual fembot with that heavy retooling.

I hope that Javelin figure is good. That is a sweet design. I really liked IDW 2.0. It started out a bit slow, but was good. Also prolly my most wanted figure to be announced is a Geomotus. Love his design and character. Thought that would never happen, but this could be it. Maybe a retool of Cosmos? Thats about the only one I could think of, since I would hope he is a new mould.

I would be shocked if Hasbro or Takara Tomy didn't do a toy colors version with painted eyes and gold mane at some point.

Cutting That up into 15 minute intervals would be a challenge.

I wish the shelves were cleared with "clearance" on such shelf/peg warmers as Galvatron, Blitzwing, Skidz, Crankcase, Prime Arcee etc. already!

They actually can't as that would mean the whole Legacy assortments, both first-year and Evolution, would no longer be stocked. My local Walmart actually did that with Core Iguanus (VERY much a pegwarmer), and now they no longer stock Legacy Core, period (no Dinobots for me ). "Rollback" would be preferable, but even then who knows which figures may end up staying? It's a Catch 22 here!

Yeah they had some figures on "clearance" for a while. But as Jelze put that might have caused the unbalance of things and maybe that's why it was for a short period....?

Anyway I feel should consider randomly putting in a new upcoming figure in every several hundred boxes, the boxes are a "blind" thing already just to give us fans a taste until the next wave is ready to distribute. Just some wishful thinking.... .
