Amazon's IDW based Transformers Legacy subline is going for some really deep cuts. Thanks to JTPrime17, we now have a product code for an upcoming two pack featuring Javelin and Kaskade. Both these characters were first introduced in the new 2019 IDW continuity which is probably why an extremely small number of you reading this news are aware of their existence. These are both female characters and we have images of them below.

:checks emails: I do see that, but someone else did several hours beforehand, thus the new credit went to them. Sorry! I know it can be hard to know when it takes awhile for stuff to go up, but if you're interested in helping us be better at that we pretty much always need new volunteers for news staff. Anyway, the submission is much appreciated regardless, so thank youBig Grim wrote:william-james88 wrote:Submit the news to us through the contact us button.

New head, backpack, shoulders, maybe feet too? In the end it comes down to parts layout but I think they could do something convincing with this mold making it unrecognizable from a movie figure (which I think would actually be required and probably would entirely derail this whole idea).
For Kaskade... I'm really trying to resist saying a Shadow Striker repaint, but I'm sure that's where they're headed. Surprise me, Hasbro.

I think Velocitron IDW Blurr is the more intuitive starting point for Javelin. I also would like anything other than a Side Burn Kaskade, but with such a deep fembot cut, I'm not going to complain in any event.

Javelin is actually a design by Alex Milne from MTMTE.

Still, this should've been Velocity.

Meanwhile, Stormbringer Thunderwing and Tidal Whale (Two of IDW's best redesigns) lay [officially] forgotten. Alongside even updates of neglected/forgotten G1 figures like Blue Bacchus and/or the Firecons (original moulds, not retools). I know in contrast to HasTak, I have an eye for completing sets. But at least some attention should be paid to reinventions of popular characters before barrel-scraping redecos.

I could see those being a future exclusive capsule, maybe for Amazon, since we basically have analogs for each of those characters out or coming, all the way down to how Needlenose connects to Skyquake.

Exactly this. As per my example earlier:
Black/Sky Shadow has had three figures since his debut (1989, 2011, 2017)
Blue Bacchus has had one (1989)
This is ridiculous, considering within fiction they are a pair/team:
It would be like only ever remaking one of the Horrorcons. Or Battlechargers. But don't worry fans, we've got Kaskade...

In the years since, Black Shadow has gone on to be either a solo act or a member of a different team, like the Phase Sixers.

Don't forget he has a pedigree that works really well in his favor, unlike Blue Bacchus. The latter did appear as a virtual redeco in a BotCon comic, better than nothing...

Yet if these selections were based on exposure. Would the Battlechargers have had three releases since their debut??

If we make the distinction between club and regular releases, Black Shadow has one up them.

It's not really the amount that matters, it's the role they had in those appearances... which isn't really much for TV. That's where the comics come in.
:EDIT: And I just realised I miscounted their toys:
Black Shadow
G1
Generations/Adventure
Titans Return
Battlechargers
G1
GF Runabout/Cybertron Runamuck
Collector's Club
Adventure
Earthrise

Bringing it back around, there are so few Copter Bots. Blue Bacchus (and, in turn Crossblades) deserve more of a shot than these recency biased nobodies.

I have a thing for Nemesis repaints so of course I had to get Nemesis Leo. He's quite the bad-ass in bot mode...
...and quite the herp-derp dopey boy in lion mode. I LOVE it!

I would be shocked if Hasbro or Takara Tomy didn't do a toy colors version with painted eyes and gold mane at some point.

TakaraTomy: Premium deco for Beast Wars Again
Hasbro: Flash Leo Prime for Selects
Speaking of painting, I feel the need to paint in some details on the Core Dinobots...

Wouldn't the BWA version basically be the retail version with painted eyes for cartoon accuracy? It would also require a Galvatron be made first.
I think Selects would go toy style. Flash... maybe a different type of exclusive like Burning Convoy.

I wonder if they would include "Lio Convoy in Imminent Danger" as an episode of BWA since it features Primal?

They actually can't as that would mean the whole Legacy assortments, both first-year and Evolution, would no longer be stocked. My local Walmart actually did that with Core Iguanus (VERY much a pegwarmer), and now they no longer stock Legacy Core, period (no Dinobots for me ). "Rollback" would be preferable, but even then who knows which figures may end up staying? It's a Catch 22 here!

The only thing that would have made me laugh harder when taking this picture would be if Walmart hadn't taken all of the Velocitron figures off the shelf (no idea where they put them, they didn't go on clearance) so I could add Burn Out to the photo.
Just realized the shot also included two different peg warmers named Arcee.

They did in my local Walmart, in two different spots: Road Hauler in the Holiday Clearance and the Deluxes in the regular Clearance. The Deluxes didn't last long at below $10 a pop.

Yeah they had some figures on "clearance" for a while. But as Jelze put that might have caused the unbalance of things and maybe that's why it was for a short period....?
Anyway I feel should consider randomly putting in a new upcoming figure in every several hundred boxes, the boxes are a "blind" thing already just to give us fans a taste until the next wave is ready to distribute. Just some wishful thinking.... .
