This version of figure requires the collectors to assemble various parts to form Optimus Prime or Bumblebee. Please be noted that these figures have no alternate mode, but the figures are highly posable.
Check out the images below that we have mirrored here:
Both DMK01 & DMK02 are scheduled to be released in June 2011.

Did Bumblebee beef up? I knew they added the abs but I'm pretty sure his upper arms are much more massive than ROTF.

This is DOTM Bumblebee not ROTF so he may have beefed up a little, we will know when the movie is released.

I've been on a Gunpla kick for the past few months. As long as this kit is about Master Grade quality I think I'll be pretty happy with it.

Luckily HLJ has them for relatively cheap, compared to other places so getting them both is somewhat more realistic.

I'm not going to buy a non transforming transformer either.

Yeah I'm not really feeling it with BB but Op is just looking like a majestic bastard in all his glory. So I wonder if the frame comes pre-built or does everything need to be put together? Hopefully the latter cuz that just makes it more fun that way.

Prime's changes seem to be much more subtle (smaller pieces moving less noticeably), granted I am not as acquainted with his old designs as some other characters. Basically though Prime's silhouette will remain the same, which cannot be said for Bee.
I'm also rather surprised at how uni-thick each panel piece appears to be. They don't have the depth (especially the changes in depth) I appreciate greatly on movieformers alt-mode plates. It makes them look more fragile here.
And I agree Bee's mask is ugly...I don't expect them to be able to pull off each little feathery piece, but it IS rough, and they didn't even take off the armor on his head which is supposed to be said mask, lol, continuity.
However, overall I agree that these are amazing (sorry all you non-transforming transformers folks), and I would buy them in a heartbeat if I ever saw them on this side of the world. Alas, it's likely not to be unless someone has them at Botcon.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if someone modded one of these to actually transform. Mmmm... :9

These are fantastic. Well, Bumblebee, a little less so.
This does tell me one thing... Bumblebee might be the most recognizable out of all of the movie characters, and the audience (especially kids) gravitate towards him, but Optimus clearly had much more work put into his design. Not just here in toy form, but in the CGI model itself.
This model kit shows off just how impressive he really is.
I kinda want the model simply because of that.
Daaang.

They *are* different sizes as far as I know.

Hmm, I heard that they were either 1/35 scale, but then there was new information that said both were 9 1/2 inches tall. Do we have anything on size for them? Never mind, I researched the plans for them, and found the scale is 1/35, and that Prime and Bumblebee are two way different sizes. As seen here,
Last Question, Have we had any confirmation on whether these will come painted, molded requiring paint and/or decals, or unpainted?

well, that means Prime is fairly close to both ROTF Leader size, and standard scale model kits size... you could have "perfect" versions of bot & alt, and one that transforms inbetween!
Stixx wrote:It shows that these come disassembled, but it appears that the decals and paint are applied, so you simply have to cut it all off the sprue and assemble them. Interesting, and that is a hell of a lot of parts.
can you find a larger version?

Nope. It was a small insert in the New Dengeki Hobby Magazine, Which Was just reported on here. You can also with the new scans see the layout from Bumblebee.

Optimus Prime-240mm, 9.5 Inches, scales to 27.5 feet, and ccording to the free trading cards from the Boston Globe, Optimus is 28 feet tall.
Bumblebee-140mm, 5.5 inches, scales to 16 feet, which according to the official guide, is correct.
So those are the heights, and for the scale freaks out there, they are in scale with one another. Can we get the whole cast now?
