Literally does not matter. I almost always see things at walmart first. showing up first at one retailer doesn't make a difference for where I commonly find things

But you like the drooling Shrapnel Geiger faces from the Bayverse right?

They both have their place, one isn't wrong or right for liking either
Back on topic, I'm eagerly keeping an eye out for Brawn and Wheeljack, going to pass on Ratchet until Ironhide hits the scene. So far the Cores have shown up around here so the rest can't be far behind

The "drooling shrapnel Geiger faces" works because they are pure alien. The "human" like faces of the Bee Movie bots strike that uncanny valley feeling.

Absolutely not. There's very few if any Bayverse bots that I like the look of.

Same for the BB movie figures including Soundwave. Order still says arriving April 5 even though the product pages say shipping March 1. Was also hoping the price would come down at least temporarily since I ordered it in December for a good price match, but none of them did.

I wasn’t as much of a fan of the AOE/TLK face designs that are more humanoid, but the designs from the first 3 movies are what I’d consider perfection.
But hey, Studio Series covers the Bay movies and BB (and G1), so everyone’s happy!
With wave 1 at retail and wave 2 revealed, I can’t wait for wave 3 reveals, likely in a couple months!
. . . If they reveal them at all, I guess xD

Ratchet at least may still price match. He was down to $19.99 while Brawn and Wheeljack were still regular price. Amazon typically doesn't lower the price until they actually charge and ship, so we may still get a slight savings when they ship.
Edit: Damn, he's back to full price, so nevermind.
Edit to the Edit: I just checked my order and Amazon did give me Ratchet at $19.99. Who-hoo!

Simple, it is the closest the live action movies have come to G1 character representations, so the current design team was naturally drawn to it.

My Ratchet too. I don't understand why one figure was lowered and the other two from the SAME wave and SAME case aren't. Amazon has been like this for a few years now and I hate that I still give them my business.
Asepticon wrote:I don't see how they're making an entire toy line based on a 5 minute scene in a movie.
It's not an entire line just part of a subline. Toy companies have been making much from little for years. Look at all the Batman figures that get made for a movie line.

Yep, my Ratchet also came down to $19.99 and my three Deluxes are due to arrive Thursday so that's good news. Soundwave is still showing April, I suspect Amazon will be giving me a refund on him if he doesn't ship soon until he's finally ready to go.
My SS86 Perceptor is also ready to ship for next week!

Amazon is pretty quick to reduce the prices on figures that aren't selling as well as they'd like until the sales catch back up with the rest of the wave. Walmart and Target occasionally do the same thing with other figures, though Walmart will also crank up the prices of their own exclusives that are selling well. What I'm trying to say is all the big companies do weird things with prices to maximize sales.

My guess is that they’ll skip to 87, but we’ll see!

And they're pretty good figures (the Deluxes anyway). I think Wheeljack is my favorite of this batch, his bot mode is solid and I love his car mode. Everything snaps together nicely and he's fun to transform. Ratchet would be my favorite, but his bot mode is super loose in the hips, elbows and shoulders. His transformation is absolutely ridiculous, it's far more complex than I could have imagined from pictures. Alt mode is pretty nice with no real gaps or open spaces, he'd be a great figure if it weren't for the floppy limbs. Brawn is the figure I was most looking forward to and he ended up being the biggest disappointment. Bot mode is OK, Transformation is really simple, and alt mode is not great. He has so many gaps in his alt mode that not only can you see straight through him from the side, but there's what can only be described as a hole right through the top of him that they could have easily have filled with his forearms. Looking back at stock photos they were clearly trying to hide all this. If they had just spent a little more time planning him he could have been great, but he feels rushed.
On the plus side I didn't have any parts fall off any of these guys, though only Ratchet really secures his gun in alt mode well using a 5mm peg while Wheeljack uses an odd shaped slot and Brawn only uses a tiny 3mm peg for some reason that barely holds.

Got to say Brawn is really nice. The transformation is very unique.
Smooth rolling. The only nitpick is the Titan master pegs for the gun. In vehicle mode its not very secure. But I do love that rifle.

While Soundwave is still a preorder, and Perceptor is out of stock, you can purchase the deluxes and core figures.

Anyway, Amazon says Wheeljack is out for delivery. Can't wait.
One more Wheeljack to add my ever growing collection of Wheeljacks. The Transdimensional Wheeljack Corps. TWC for short.

You should enjoy Wheeljack, I think he's the best of the wave, which is a really good wave by the way.

Wheeljack is just O.K. I don’t particularly enjoy his transformation. Brawn on the other hand is fantastic.

william-james88 wrote:Just wondering, is it well known that core class Shockwave instructions are terribly wrong for the back half of the alt mode? Because I had not heard of it till I bought the toy today.
Don't have him, but I found Perceptor's instructions to have a lot of strange issues. To go into tank mode step one shows the microscope mode flattened out and legs highlighted with 180 degree arrow off the right side, but it doesn't say what is being moved 180 degrees (easy to figure out if you've handled a G1 figure, probably confusing if you've never touched a Perceptor before). They tried to cut down three steps into two or at least combined the wrong two steps. But that's not the strangest part. The last section shows where to peg the gun in for storage in both modes, but both pictures have a 90 degree arrow to the left and right sides even though there's nothing being turned let alone two things.

For anyone that has wheeljack, are his ankles fused on your copy? I can't move the ball joints on mine making him pretty difficult to pose.

On mine they aren’t fused, but are very tight specially the right one. Also, they don’t have that much range of movement anyway since they are blocked by the leg panel on one side, and the ankle hinge on the other. Ankle tilt is minimal.

Well if they aren't fused in place, then mine are so tight they feel like they are cemented in place.

All 3 are pretty good. Brawn was as predicted my favorite. There is so much love put into this sour little strong man. I wish the arms could pose a bit better with the bicep swivel and that his head could rotate more, but he is a lot of fun. Definitely my favorite.
Wheeljack is 2nd favorite. some parts of him feel a bit too tight for comfort, but he is solid. Love the frumpy design, and the head rocks.
Ratchet comes in 3rd. he's good, just the other 2 are better. Really enjoy his transformation, very involved and quite fun.
