In beast mode he has nothing on him that suggests his robot mode. Sure, one side of his torso is obviously a robot mode chest but that's more down to my own presumptions and not a flaw in the design. His arm is perfectly integrated into his beast mode head (as a bonus this means the beast mode can look side to side in a very sinister fashion). With the exception of the tail which is just one big chunk he's got all the right posability in this mode.
The transformation isn't about to puzzle anyone (though if you're the type who doesn't use instructions you might encounter a few "oh, I never realised that could peg in there" moments) but it's just involved enough to be interesting. In robot mode he's fantastic too. The "black knight" head design won't be to everyone's taste but I love how stand-offish and menacing it makes him look. His sword clips smoothly into his tail and his back sail, now in the form of huge, spiky shoulder fins looks great. Again my only concern is lack of flexibility on his tail arm but in this mode at least it's a huge pointy lance.

MINDVVIPE wrote:Can anything be done for Scorn's super tiny knee joints? (the black connecting part)
They're actually double-jointed so in robot mode his "real" knee is at the top of his red boot section while the visible part acts as the lower half of his thigh (which admittedly is tiny, but works with the knight in armour appearance.

That describes me so well, I am glad to know I am not the only one out there to think that so many times.

You might be alone on that. We loves us some repaints of figures that came out 15 years ago.

I'm one of the ones that DOES read the instructions, but I know my audience.

There's one more pic o the Japanese toys that TF Yuki Tweeted - https://twitter.com/TFYUKI/status/466138827007201280El Duque wrote:That's to Takara Tomy's Shogo Hasui and TF Yuki we have in-hand images of Transformers: Lost Age's AD-01 Leader Class Optimus Prime and AD-03 Voyager Class Grimlock. Like most of their releases these feature alternate decos compared to their Hasbro counterparts. Check out the images mirrored below:

In short, AD01 though AD15. And may I say, putting Battle Blade Bumblebee in a Voyager box is a big cheat. He almost costs as much as a Voyager in yen!

Does this indicate that they are the same mold? Or is it just there as a stock preorder pick before being revealed fully?

Yeah, Takara always picks one silhouette to represent every unseen toy. Oftentimes, it's a Bumblebee silhouette they pick.Diem wrote:william-james88 wrote:Sorry if I will sound ignorant, but I noticed that both AD 26 Bumblbee and AD 27 Lockdown have the same blacked out shape.

So, no, neither Lockdown nor any future Dinobot figure are a Bumblebee mold.

I was greatly dissapointed with RID Magnus and I am sure I will be with Galvatron.

But in the case of Magnus there were two mitigating factors; one that his robot mode looked a lot more like an actual Transformer than Galvatron does and the other being that in addition to being his own Transformer he was also a magic mushroom for Prime.

Wrong RiD Magnus.
But Galvatron does resemble Prime Ultra Magnus, good call. The difference in aesthetics between the truck mode and robot mode being plainly visible is jarring I'll admit, something Galvatron suffers more from than Magnus.

I don't think anyone claimed PRID UM was a great toy either (except Walky) but at least he had arms and shoulders that suggested he was a Transformer instead of an action figure with flaps on his back.

Dear minicon. You have a pretty handy button to EDIT your post instead of mistakes like that.
Also, what where you talking about? I'm at a loss here.

2 in 1 toys. A Car toy and an action figure toy.
Galvatron meets this perfectly to me. I mean, we like the transformations because that was always a part of it, but remember G1 Transformers? They were not as nearly complicated as that Galvatron. G1 could pass for car toys, but the action figure part was marginal at best. Now the toys seem to do what they were originally intended.
Also, if I was a kid playing, I'd want to mimic the speed of transformation I see in the movies and shows. The Transformers don't pause their assault to carefully transform from mode to mode and if I was a kid, I'd hate to take the time to do it.
So, to me, this DOES seems like a great year to be a young transformers fan. And I'm ok with that.

First things first, you can read the full article here: http://io9.com/first-look-at-more-new-d ... 1576654201
Second, the Hasbro designers have their say:
When it comes to the movie Grimlock toys being predominantly gold versus the gray in the movie, it's a choice to make the toys pop out a bit more, and to get kids to associate that color with the character, like they associate yellow with Bumblebee and blue/red with Optimus. They heard a lot of feedback internally and from consumers about how it can get hard to tell who's who in the movies sometimes, with so many robots being black or gray. It's also useful for color palettes to be unique at retail - every kid knows a yellow sports car in the toy aisle is likely to be Bumblebee, for example.
And last, but certainly not least, the images of the Dinobots themselves!

I don't care if they are not screen accurate, I don't care if not all the Dinobots appear in the movie, I don't care how much it take for me to get all seven due to the crappy distribution, I WANT ALL SEVEN DINOBOTS!!!!
Also, they are on a streak, and these two kinda came out of nowhere, so please, MAKE MOREEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Snarl looks...cool? Looks like Shockwave, Snarl, and Vilgax from Ben 10 (or some other green character from the same series) sat down in a meeting one day and started off with "Y'know what'll piss off GEEWUNers to no end...?" Not to say he's bad, but I'll reserve judgement until some in-hand images and reviews pop up.
But, there's also something very worrying for me: where are all the Decepticons? Surely Galvatron, Stinger, and Lockdown can't hold their own against twelve (maybe even more) Autobots.

If you must READ THE NAMES on the packaging to tell the things appart, the designers did something wrong.
Dont forget that the hardcore nerd is just a very, very small percentage of Hasbro's customers. Most people who buy the things are parents and grandparents who don't know the name of the bots and they dont give a fawk about learning them.
