It looks that i`m just remember him for his "Last Autobot" appearance.

But then, you cant disagree, that this one Hi-Q is obviously kinda "Black Person".

Good to know especially for those way too happy-go-lucky expressions for Minerva. Yeah I get the anime style, I have my share of interest of anime but looking at these latest pics I can't stop thinking of Kirby with that helmet on and that same face.... :P :VEHI:

No, it just that, without any paint apps, Hi-Q's figure here *looks* Black. But, no, he's White (as most Nebulons were in Marvel).

He was bald originally, only growing some hair much later in the comic's run.

You're forgetting Brisko:

Not that one token character makes up for Nebulos being yet another alien comic book world to fall victim to what I call the Kurse of Krypton. Is there a more widely used term in comic circles?

Nonetheless, Marvel Nebulos still outperforms Rebirth Nebulos/Nebulon on most levels, IMHO.

Agreed.

Marvel Nebulos = sophisticated society with realistic political corruption and interesting culture.

Sunbow Nebulos = Saturday morning cartoon-styled alien world with green men, cliche villains, and no unique history.

Why do keep calling them dolls when they're even more robotic than G.I. Joe figures?

They don't even have any organic body parts (aside from their heads) when in these forms on the show. the only "armor" than they "wear" in these forms are their helmets.

It's being on display that worries me. Hispanics in Miami are very family oriented. They place being a perv in the same catagory as being a rapist. I know certain places in middle america anything goes (as Eminem suggests in his lyrics) But here in Miami, displaying one of those dolls just gives some people the wrong idea. It would give women the creeps since most of them have teenage daughters or sisters. I might want the Minerva one, but not sure if it would be displayed in my main room.

Well, what if they're displayed in a non-perverted, generic pose, like just standing straight or just sitting down, with nothing sexual implied?

Plus, like I said, they aren't even humans in this form.

I know this site allows for the free exchange of ideas but.............QUIT IT RATED X!

ENOUGH with the obsession with this Nonsensical, Out of Place and Trolling! Dolls, underage features, curvaceous design..... :BANG_HEAD:

If you don't like to buy Minerva, don't!And get out of the thread!

With apologies to other Floridians out here, would you allow such stereotyping? For those with such a mind set against those collecting figs, they can just KISS MY B*TT!

It's bad enough that prior to the anime explosion and the Bayformers movie, admit it, a lot of our "mainstream" peers looked down on us.....at least until popular culture accepted some of this in the mainstream.

I have a 15 year old nephew who knows and is aware of my main G1 TF collection and sub collection of various anime figs. He knows the difference between an ero fig and a main line General Patronage fig. I own both lines (ero and mainstream figs).

He (the 15 year old) knows the difference between an icky, yucky naked girl and a wowza high tech most excellent action figure along the lines of figma(Maxfactory), ALmecha (Alter), vmf(Yamato)and Gutto Kuro(CMs) line. He knows when to get the rise out of one and when to just enjoy the complexity of a fig. Showing the 15 year olda pic of Minerva, well he doesn't find her anywhere near erotic at all.......in fact she's kinda skinny according to him.

So If a 15 year old can tell the difference while supposed Floridian adults can't..........then I fear for your future (get your priorities straight for heavens sake!)

I second Blurrz x infinity........let's talk about the merit of the toys and not the distractions!

1.When will she be available?

2.How much?

3.Quality?

4.Wished they'd make a scaled transtector body for her  (Ok, I just slipped that in......couldn't resist)

5.Is her armor cast off 8-} (if you are so obsessed with such a feature.)

:HEADHURTS:

Addendum:
Btw, she's a bit taller than a Voyager fig. That's their usual size range.

Minerva more or less around that height. Ginrai I estimate to be maxed to Defensor's (being an adult compared to teeny booper in the anime)

To get this clear:

Reference G1 Defensors' height. He is more or less 10 inches.

More or less based on the reference picture, I'd say Ginrai is around the same maximum height.

Minerva more or less shorter, some extrapolation, Minerva around 8 inches while Ginrai maxed to 10 inches. That simple.

I'm sure with Minerva's range because I own 2 of CMs Gutto Kuro line so I'd give that a rough estimate.

Addition:

I'm copy pasting the specs of #46 Noriko of Gunbuster

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... agecnt%3D1

Specifications

Pre-painted Action Figure
Size: Appx. 200mm Tall
Material: PVC, ABS

[Set Contents]
-Main figure
-Optional face parts x5
-Optional hand parts x 12
-Battle costume x1
-Gym uniform x 1
-Headband (blue, yellow) x 1 each
-GuColle stand set

I've placed the size in bold fonts...........around 200 mm, so Minerva should more or less be along this measurement.

So, anyone get a "rise" out of Noriko? >:oP

There are plenty. 12" GI JOE collectors buy lots of 'dolls'.

And there are many fans of character action figures male or female.

This is not my cup of tea, but I do like the Minerva.

Doll

A doll is a toy of a human being, often used as a toy for children. Dolls have traditionally been used in magic and religious rituals throughout the world, and traditional dolls made of materials like clay and wood are found in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Europe. The earliest documented dolls go back to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome. Dolls being used as toys was documented in Greece around 100AD. They have been made as crude, rudimentary playthings as well as elaborate art. Modern doll manufacturing has its roots in Germany going back to the 15th century. With industrialization and the appearance of new materials like porcelain and plastic, dolls were increasingly mass produced. During the 20th century dolls became increasingly popular as collectibles.

Action figure

An action figure is a posable character figurine, made of plastic or other materials, and often based upon characters from a film, comic book, video game, or television program. These action figures are usually marketed towards boys and male collectors. Redressable action figures are sometimes called action dolls [1] to distinguish them from those with all or most of the clothes molded on.

It is argued that action figures are particularly popular with boys because they represent traditional masculine traits and are closely associated with the public sphere.[2] While most commonly marketed as a children's toy, the action figure has gained wide acceptance as an adult collector item. In such a case, the item may be produced and designed on the assumption it will be bought solely for display.

Here are some posable character figurines that are all geared toward boys and male collectors. So I guess you would consider them "action figures" too ???

That is such a narrow-minded, sexist, and offensive thing to say.

People buy toys of the characters they like. And, IMHO, Ginrai was the greatest Autobot leader of all the Autobot leaders in the entire Generation 1 era. That's right, I said it. The greatest Generation 1 Autobot commander was a "Puny Fleshling". :MR-T:

Rated X, what is your problem with human toys?

Do you really think that the term "doll" is appropriate for such human toys as G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, Action Man, DC superheros, Marvel superheroes, LEGO people, He-Man, the Simpsons, Family Guy, etc., even when they're made out of plastic and have no soft, felt material buolt into them?

Why, did you also cry "foul" when Kicker got his own toys in Energon?
Image

Or how about Ga'Mede, who came with e-Hobby Magnificus?
Image

Or even Jack, Miko, and Raf?
Image

In fact, as I have told you time and again, Minerva and Ginrai, in these forms, ARE. NOT! HUMAN!!!! :BOOM:

Honestly, in the words of someone on TFWiki, it's people like you who take your "manly, tough, not-at-all-nerdy, children's-toy-collecting, kid's-cartoon-watching hobby way too seriously."

Rated X wrote:Those actually look pretty cool. But as I clearly stated before, the hispanic population in south Florida is very family oriented and protective of their daughters. Ask yourself good and well how any of this applies at all to Ginrai, who is the main topic that we're discussing here.

And even in regards to Minerva, there's nothing erotic about a girl whose body (minus her head) is made up entirely of robot parts and has nothing to reveal on her body.

Why, most fanmade Arcee toys look more erotic than CM Corp's Minerva figure.

And not a single one of those four fall into the same category of toy as this Ginrai figure does. Nice try, but no cigar.

Yall gotta understand, I may be a serious Transformer collector, but I still grew up hanging out in the hood. You cant take that mentality out of my system. It's a way of life. And you dont have to go to the hood to find sexist mentalities. Just turn on CNN and watch right wing politicians.

As far as my hate for "human" toys, I always saw robots as the "cool" alternitve. 1980's GI joe was cool too because they were small unlike the 60's versions that could go side by side with your sisters Barbies.

Well, what's it gonna take for you to realize that not all "action figures" are of "non-human beings"? Because that's a very foolish way to think.

I never said they were. I just believe any human figure the size of a Barbie or larger is a doll no matter how many points of articulation it has. Call it ignorant, but you gotta draw the line somewhere between the two. From a childs perspective, the bigger it is, the more cuddly it becomes. Just for kicks, if the Ginrai toy was the size of a small infant, would you still classify it as an action figure ???

Not if it doesn't have any soft material or removable clothing like a doll usually has.

That would hurt with these figures. What with all thier rough edging and sharp, pointy, robotic body builds. ;)

As a generalizing term? Yes. But for a more specific term, for something that large, I'd call it a "statue", or a "display piece". An articulated statue, but a statue nonetheless.

And just for kicks, suppose they gave a human Pretender Shell to the G1 Fortress Maximus toy. Not a shell for the head robot like what they did for Grand Maximus, but a shell for the full 2-foot tall citybot. :-B

Not sure what I would call it. If it was a giant alien shell with claws or a dragon tail, I would probally love it. If it was a shell that looked like Sergant Slaughter, I would be horrorfied. As a kid, the last thing I wanted to play with were humans because I was a human. Didnt seem that exciting to me. I wanted to play with things that are out of this world. (but thats just me)

Not even superhumans, metahumans, or warriors/soldiers/fighters/etc. (like knights/pirates/cowboys/commandos/ninjas/samurai/Rambo/etc.)?

Wow, no G.I. Joe, Centurians, Ghostbusters, Visionaries, Spiral Zone, Inhumanoids,
He-Man, Warlord, C.O.P.S., WWF, Super Powers... All had human figures. You missed out.

Going back to your first comment in this thread, I would imagine most men who collect toys into adulthood could care less about shallow women and their thoughts of their collections. It works for you to be self conscious about what women think belongs in your(?) collection. Calling these dolls is humorous at best.

@ Sabrblade

I have to correct you on one aspect..Ginrai and Minerva are technically cyborgs. Human with machine parts. 8-}

Anyways, based on that other guy's definition, with his use of examples, action figures with removable clothing are dolls, so he already negated his argument that Ginrai/Minerva are dolls......you can't cast-off their uniform/armor/clothes.

Talk about a doll fetish..........makes me wonder whether he actually has seen the real biological "thing" from the opposite gender.

In Suit Mode, aside form their heads, they no longer have any organic components in their bodies, with their robotic armor suits literally becoming their actual bodies. So, they'd qualify more as "androids" or "artificial humans" ("jinzo ningen" for you DBZ fans) than cyborgs.

Though, combine them with their Transtectors and you got full blown Super Robot Lifeforms ("chou roboto seimeitai") with human souls. ;)

Nah. I went from 4 years of Transformers (1984-1988) and went straight to Nintendo. I honestly never liked action figures of human characters.

As far as women are concerned, If you got the right personality it doesnt matter what you collect. But you gotta draw the line somewhere. I draw it for "doll like" transformers characters figures. Im a man first and a collector second.

Then a man ought to be secure enough in his masculinity to collect whatever he wants, regardless of whatever that may be and whatever others may think of him and his collection. :MR-T: :POWERPUFF: :MARIO: :KYLE: :SUPERMAN: :SERVO: :CROW: :BUTTHEAD: :BEAVIS: :MAX2: :123TF: :GIJOE: :BATTLEBEASTS: :PEACE:
