Fear not! Minerva's hard sculpted hair firmly roots her in the action figure category!
IMO, 'dolls' need to have individual strands of hair.

So, I guess you'd consider the Beast Wars Neo toy of Mach Kick to be a doll, then?Jesterhead wrote:Rated X wrote:The figure looks nice. But Im old school, so Im no fan of "dolls".

I beleive your criteria does have merit. It makes sense to me and would probably get a good laugh from the person who was harassing you for buying dolls when you used it as a defense.
I have a girlfriend of mine who refers to my TF collection as "dolls" and it drives me bonkers everytime!

Doesn't she transform, sort of?
Anyway, how much does she cost? She'll be a good sidekick for my Classics Nightbeat.

Since this is posted in the toys-section and not in the 3rd party-section... Does that mean it's official? Because, if so, that would be too awesome for words and I would very much like to own this.

It is official, CM's Corp is pretty legit, they make figures that come with DVDs and stuff!

And it's a licensed third party item for a convention in Japan. Takara does stuff like that. If I remember correctly, the license to sell it is only for the one day and only at the convention but after that anybody can sell however many they managed to get.
And I'm still waiting on the pics of the Ginrai they're doing for the same show!

You might be thinking of the Sunrise Mecha Action Dai Atlas figure they did, cause that one was only sold at Wonderfest, these are mass release, as far as I know, there hasn't been anything that said that they were for a show anyway.

I may (read: probably) be wrong. I was under the impression it was a common thing over there, regardless of this particular case. I was told (by the guy who sold it to me, mind you) that the Jizaitoys Wheelie was one of those one day only license deals as was their Powerglide.

I never saw that figure before but his alt mode looks like a Barbie doll horse from the 80's. Robot mode looks OK though, minus the hair.

When the Megos became popular(ish) again in the '90s and Marvel & DC were putting out the Famous Covers line and the like, I collected them and fully admitted they were dolls. Cloth costumes = dolls and rooted hair + cloth costume = dolls but rooted hair =/= dolls. It's up to personal opinion here to me doll is a more esthetic thing. But Mach Kick is totally a Barbie mount!

Yeah all the Jizaitoy Transformers and the CM's Corp Dai Atlas were exclusive Wonderfest, so Minerva and Ginrai'll be way easier to get a hold of than those guys.

I love minerva but not enough to pay $30+ for this tiny figure. that is probably not even minicon sized.
I think I would have prefered a headmaster minerva 3rd party toy. that still managed to transform into a head master for her bigger robot toy. while still managing to look beautiful in humanoid mode, with curvy legs, arms,T & A & Ofcause a helmet that came off to reveal a pretty minerva female face with long flowing blonde hair.

You know very well fictional characters do not age through natural means, unless they reappear in a sequel or the series spans a lot of years.

And she is most certainly not from 1988. The Headmasters occurs in 2011. Victory is set in 2025. Masterforce takes place between the two. The Victory manga implies that Masterforce is set closer to Victory than to The Headmasters, so it's possible that she'd only be an infant right now if she were real.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Tidalwavex wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:All I gotta say is: I loves me some jailbait

No,takara Season 3 takes place in the year 2010.
Are you implying that only one year has passed season 3/2010 & takara's japanese headmasters??
Most veteran fans speculate that Season 3's/2010's time line lasted at the very least for two to three years. with rodimus prime & galvatron having at least 3 years worth of leadership duties during season 3/2010.
I'd safely place hasbro's USA Rebirth season 4 around the hasbro usa time line of 2009.
I'd safely place the Takara Japanese Headmasters series around the takara time line of 2013. with the takara 2010 series lasting 3 years in it's time line.

No, I'm not implying that only one year passed, I'm saying as a fact that only one year occurred between the two. Episode 1 of The Headmasters says so.Tidalwavex wrote:No,takara Season 3 takes place in the year 2010.
