MP Grimlock - High Resolution Pictures & Info

starting to look like a masterpiece.
if hasbro will sell it for a price similar to 20th anni dvd prime, i'm buying it for certain. can't justify 120$ though.

oh my. I'm far from a Grimlock fanboy (in fact I detest the character) but that's starting to look like one impressive figure.

Aha. Grimlock is sitting down in that picture with G1 Prime. That alleviates the height worries a little.

MP Grimlock is looking awesome so far...

It doesn't seem like MP Grimlock will have much die-cast. Looking at the pictures and seeing the weight description, my guess is that he will only have a metal internal frame like MP Starscream & Megatron.

I'm sold, he's looking much better. I don't think his robot shoulders will be any better than Megatron but the rest looks great - I@m impressed with the articulation of dinmode.

As for Mickey - no knees, no elbows, no hands, no way.

I agree the shoulder will have limitations. The leg transformation is looking more complex. Question - how is the sword attaching to the wrist? Is it being held in the hand or does it lock directly onto the wrist?

I'm guessing there's a slot in there to facilitate the light gimmick.

I can't to see pics of this guy when they put in color. the prototype is looking to be a true masterpiece

Blue...err..not for me. Would rather see SunStorm as a repaint.

However, Grimlock looks marvelous. Can't wait for this one.

I really hope they haven't left out his double-barrelled gun in favour of a feckin' drinks tray.

That Mickeyformer looks tiny, like a scout size or smaller.

That set of features looks quite impressive. He is starting to look like a very nice figure!

Mickey's looking better every time I see him. I especially love the slightly crazed look in the smaller Mickey's eyes.

As for Grimlock, nice party hat. Really couldn't care otherwise.

Guys, there is no blue version of Grimlock coming...

It's the LEDs in his eyes. His eye color can either be red (toy) or blue (cartoon).

As for there not being die-cast, this is a prototype cast from the prototype mold. These are never in die-cast, the die-cast parts are added in the testshot fase. Most of the time the plastic has been colored at this point as well.

Which doesn't say that there are going to be huge die-cast parts... there might not be. We simply don't know yet at this stage.

I dont' want to have to pay extra to import a Takara figure from Japan.

That said, weren't we once bludgeoned over the head by people who claimed an MP Grimlock would *never* be produced, because he's not as popular a character in Japan?
Maybe this big fellow will be a USA exclusive MP. :-p

Whenever I see it I want to start talking like him for some reason.

I generally like my Masterpiece figures to be more complicated than the standard toys and while MP Grimmy clearly has extra steps to his transformation I dont really mind that he is basically a scaled up version. The Dino mode has bags of character.

Like the crown, nice touch. "Me Grimlock King!"

That thing is awesome. and the Grimlock isn't half bad either.

The grimlock after all we have seen is looking like an amazing piece, sure it won't be for everyone, but if I have a chance I might get one.

The Mickey-former is going to sell well regardless of fan approval, just like the Disney/Star Wars figures that are out there. I have no problem with them, I just hope they don't try to release a Nemo repaint of Skybite.

jk , but it is nice to have that choice on the eyes. I can see where some would want him with red eyes like the original toy, but I'd prefer blue to match the show and my other 'bots. I just hope that doesn't mean the blue-eyed version will have a blue led for his sword as well...

As great as Grimlock looks I just hope that articulated hands were not sacrificed for his light up sword gimmick.

I like MP Grimlock, but they are asking a lot of the wallet for that one.

Im still trying to come up with words that convey the awsomeness of this Grimlock, Im gonna go with 'the dog's bollocks'
while I'd just use the word bollocks to describe that other atrocity

The hands look articulated to me and my understanding is the eyes will be able to switch between colours

Slaggin' Hell! That looks awesome! If the actual figure comes out like that (heck, if it comes out any way at all) i'll pick it up in a heartbeat!

Although, I'm not sure about the crowny-ish-thing on his head. It looks good and fits with the whole 'Me Grimlock king!' idea, but i think i liked his old head better.

The crown can be removed. I think it's a great homage to the old Marvel comics, though, so I'll keep it on

I always thought he and sludge had excellent g1 figures in terms of articulation and faithfulness to both modes, and i'm really glad to see they did basically everything necessary to make that g1 grimlock figure absolutely perfect. if the shoulders end up being, i dunno, maybe, not locked in fully to the torso, or perfected in some way from these pictures, this may be the best representation possible of grimlock. I want it badly, but it comes out at the same time as henkei dirge and thrust, and i'm a horrible sucker for seekers. this decision's going to pester me for a while now, i'm sure. hehe.

The more I see of Grimlock, the happier I get. Grimlock is one impressive MP. This is gonna hurt my wallet so bad.

Grimlock is pure win.

I can't wait for this to come out. I know it's a dream, but just imagine 4 other MP Dinobots beside him.
