His name is "Dino."
It's pronounced Dee-No.
Cartoon dinosaur? No, there is a deeper meaning. Click here for more info on this topic.
It's a homage to the son of Ferrari's founder. It was also the codename of the 458 while they were designing it.
So there you have it, Mirage is now Dino.

Baaahahahahahaha!!! Totally made me laugh hard. It sounds like something he'd do.
I'd love to see Bryan Singer or someone with more subtlety take over the franchise. At least with X-Men, he respected the material and treated it with class.

"Dino" is also the birth name (and nickname) of Dean Martin, who provided inspiration for the portrayal of the G1 cartoon Mirage. And, oh, yeah, Martin (along with Sammy Davis, Jr.) drove a red Ferrari in The Cannonball Run.

10 bucks says Michael Bay and his cronies didn't put that much thought into it.

OK...1) You just managed to get me to buy into the fact that Dino MIGHT be an acceptable substitution with your very well reasoned explanation (not saying I'll call it Dino, you just happen to have the best reason for doing so if I were to call it that)...and 2) You do realize that you, me and maybe 15-20% of the other folks on here are the only ones who actually got all of the references without having to resort to a Wiki or going to IMDB for info.
Regardless of whatever info is flying around, and believe me I damn sure don't trust a single word that comes off of ShootForTheEdit, that car/'bot is Mirage. It doesn't matter if it doesn't look a thing like G1 Mirage. If folks haven't gotten past that by now they have no reason dealing with anything movie related AT ALL!! This is not the 1980's. The only thing I'm having issue with is that the Novel and Comic adaptations state what the characters are, the core info for the TF3 story/characters is already out there so there is no good reason, none at all, for making any changes in character names at this late point in the game other than for the simple fact that someone is trying to dick with us. I'm calling BULLSH** on EVERYTHING Nelson tries to foist on us at this late point in the game.

Maybe, but lets not forget 2007's Brawl/Devastator situation.

I'm from Ireland, and thank god Bay is only doing these films as a trilogy, otehrwise he'd have a leprechaun Transformer called Luckicharms.

How is it stereotypical that someone coming from Italy speaks with an Italian accent?
Posted by NamelessOne on June 4th, 2011 @ 11:09am CDT
I would bet money that this charachter's reveal will be in a packed lunctime Roman Piazza, with tableful, full of spaghetti lined tables to knock over (maybe even tear part of a womans dress off along the way), because any other countries are treated shabbily in the Bayverse.

And we know who won that battle too, Hasbro. They said he was Brawl, Bay admitted him being called Devastator in the movie was an error. Bay and his cronies can say all they want, but Hasbro has the ultimate say.
It's things like this that show how little Bay and crew respect the franchise.

Of course I don't know how he sounds, but, based on emipirical data from the previous two outings, it's an educated opinion that bears some thought!

It's a statement based on what we have all seen before; if they were to go down the 'Dino' route, the name alone should infer what comes after, are they really going to deviate from the 'trite and rusted' character development, at this stage???
Judging by the estimated runtime, a lotta stuff will be dispensed with fairly quick...

if past performances are anything to go by, then he will appear, do something cool for five seconds then disappear for the rest of the movie or die a pointless death, without any audience reaction.
