Ramondellis art should be put into a museum, and RiD should really stick to one style.

I love Ramondelli's cover. Shockwave is just all around bad-ass no matter how he's drawn. The only thing that worries me is whether having Op on the cover indicates that he's coming back. I'm hoping this isn't the case. It's WAY too soon for something like that. Let the bot enjoy his time cruising around the galaxy. He's earned the R & R time. Wait for something truly horrific a year or more down the road, some earth shattering (literally) crisis and then have him step in at the last minute like John Wayne riding in off the dusty trail and pull everyones ass out of the fire.

Just because they have an artist do a kick ass cover doesn't mean that the whole format has been thrown out the window and rebooted...again! What's wrong with giving some seriously talented TF artists a shot at some cover art from time to time? It provides a great opportunity for up and coming talent to get their work out into the mainstream arena. Give the guys a shot and enjoy their work and don't assume that the whole mag has been changed until you have absolute proof of it.

Ramondelli is doing the whole sixth issue, not just the cover.
And, sorry, but OP is coming back in issue 6... Yeah, this time, the "death of Optimus" was five issues long - for once, I hate it when writers can't think of better solutions to a crysis than bringing back the mainline big guns.

I respectfully disagree.

If I had drawn and colored that, I don't think I would appreciate someone calling it garbage. Personally, I can't figure out what's not to love with this picture? Other than the aesthetics pattern of the comic mentioned above. But on it's own, garbage? Really?

Ramondellis art doesn't fit into comics. They are cool, but there are thousands of such arts on deviantart. On that cover, Primes ears are laughably giant and pointy, eyes are small, etc... The colorist doesn't really help. Though not as bad as Ulises Farinas was (remember Heart of Darkness?) I have no doubt Ramondelli will fall out from the artist roster. The other artists IDW have now (Roché, Coller, Milne, Griffith) all do superb jobs, and their work is somehow lighter than Ramondellis.

You're an artist? Sweet! Do you post any of your work on seibertron.com?

You certainly have that right, but it doesn't make you right
I know!
But there is the factor of aesthetic response being subjective in most cases.
I, personally, quite like Ramondelli's style, or at least what I've seen of it so far.
Also, Roche's work is pretty good, same with Milne. In my opinion.
Regarding the post where you state that you are entitled to criticise other artistic products due to the fact that you're an artist yourself: I don't mind being honest with opinions, but always within a framework of respect towards the other parties involved.
As I am a published, albeit in small scale, writer, poet and academic, as well as poetry and academic journal editor, I very often come across awful pieces of writing. That does not mean I am allowed to tell the authors 'This is a pile of garbage'.
(Although, yes, I may think that.)
I don't want to come across as angry or flaming or what have you, just stating my opinion!

Would you prefer, Dreamwave?
