Well, there's also United Darkside Optimus Prime and United Darkside Megatron.Rated X wrote:Another black prime...

Like DOTM Darkside OP, United Darkside OP is also a manifestation of G1 Optimus's dark side.
In United Darkside Megatron's case, however, he is a manifestation of G1 Megatron's insanity.

So he's basically Galvatron.

Kinda, yeah. Even though he exists as a separate entity/person from Megatron.WolfDawg wrote:In United Darkside Megatron's case, however, he is a manifestation of G1 Megatron's insanity.

Kinda, yeah. Though, I think this Darkside OP hails from the same world as Movie OP, since he was born from Movie OP's darker side.Red 50 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not time-traveling, but dimension-hopping instead.Blurrz wrote:A time-travelling Optimus Prime killer? Hello fan fiction..

He is from the same universe as Movie Prime, having been spawned from him. He just has a device in his chest that let's him dimension-hop. He seems to be going after Movie Prime first, so he'd have to still be in Tyran.WolfDawg wrote:Wait...so now I'm confused. This Dark Side Prime is from the Movie-verse right? If that's true, what universe is he in at the time of this bio? Like did he leave the Movie-verse (Tyran) and go to the G1 universe (Primax)?

Both Darkside OPs were born out of their respective good OP's dark side and seem to have committed themselves to killing their lighter counterparts.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Except that not all Nemesis Primes are the same, of course.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Nemesis Prime is to the US as Darkside is to Japan. Neither are both Darkside Primes.
Whereas:
- Armada Nemesis Prime was a savage puppet controlled by Sideways
- Universe (2003) Nemesis Prime is a Unicron-created being cloned from a deceased otherworldly Optimus Prime whose purpose is to serve and help in the resurrection of his master. Eons later, he is granted redemption and becomes a "dark knight"-type Autobot in the Convoy Corps. of the Alternity.
- In the Alternators/Binaltech fiction, G1 Nemesis Prime is a clone of Optimus Prime created by Doctor Arkeville tapping into an "extra-spatial source" from Unicron, granting this Nemy life from a fragment of Universe's Nemy's own power.
- In his Classics/Universe (2008) toy bio, G1 Nemesis Prime is a clone created by Straxus's experimentations
- IDW Nemesis Prime is the dark form of Nova Prime corrupted form the Dead Universe.
- Animated Nemesis Prime is a clone forged by the same experiments of Scalpel and Oil Slick that resulted in Toxitron and the Stunticons. Once completed, Straxus snatched him up.
- Prime Nemesis is the Decepticons' space ship which may or may not be Trypticon...

I thought 2003 Nemesis Prime was an actual Prime whose universe followed different events regarding the destruction of Unicron. In that Prime's universe, Unicron actually destroyed Cyberton or something and succeeded. He then captured Prime, tortured him and drove him insane. After that Prime went insane and pledged allegiance to Unicron (Stockholme syndrome much?) Unicron gave him the dead matrix which was basically that Prime's orginal matrix, only perverted by all the torture. Therefore, he's not really a clone, just Optimus Prime from a pretty screwed up dimension who changed his name from Optimus Prime to Nemesis Prime after Unicron basically converted him to evil.

Yep, he's a clone too. His universe's Optimus Prime was killed by Megazarak. It was this Prime's corpse that was cloned and tortured by Unicron.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:WolfDawg wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Both Darkside OPs were born out of their respective good OP's dark side and seem to have committed themselves to killing their lighter counterparts.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Except that not all Nemesis Primes are the same, of course.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Nemesis Prime is to the US as Darkside is to Japan. The "traditional" Optimus Prime character doesnt have a dark side. Thats just something a comic book writer came up with in the 90's.
And in my opinion, Megatron was never insane. He was always on point. It was Galvatron who had problems controlling his temper. Cyclonus once captured him and put him through therapy on planet Torkulon to try and help him manage his anger. (of course it failed)

Well, I think it's a pretty good assumption that the Tyran Prime has a bit of a dark side to him. I mean, he just kills every Decepticon with very little (if any) hesitation in the movies. I'm not sure why the WFC Prime had a dark side, but Movie-verse Prime is hell on wheels to any Decepticon in his way.
As for Megatron, I'm sure he was a little insane to begin with. Some of the things he did as Megatron (this is before his turned into Galvatron) were pretty insane. Hell, just keeping Starscream around as his second in command for so long is something only a madman would do. However, I think Megatron was always good at keeping his insanity in check and using it to his advantage. When he became Galvatron, I guess he lost the ability to keep that insanity in check and it just took over him. Dark side Megatron is just the manifestation of the insanity that he was able to keep in check prior to becoming Galvatron.
Again, that's just my take on it.
