He transforms like Skystalker and G1 Broadside by proxy.

EDIT: Well it seems the similarly named hippogriff isn't a "classical" or even Greek monster. I'm probably not looking in the right places...

Yeah, I Googled it too and got nothing.Noideaforaname wrote:What exactly is an "ursagriff" from? In all my years of looking up mythical monsters I've never encountered it, Theoi.com has nothing on it (I'm assuming this creature's Greek, given the name), Wikipedia has nothing on it, and Google only seems to bring up "Grimwing is an ursagriff, guys!" Not claiming it's fake or anything, it's just bugging me that I can't find anything on it.
My guess is that it might be the secret love child between a bear and griffon. A product of Hasbro's imagination.

Is that a serious question?

More like rather scathing and, in my opinion very reasonable, sarcasm regarding most of the Prime Predacons.

I'd say most Beastformers in general - "Stand up on hind legs, flip head fore or back (or open mouth), do something with tail" is NOT a 'transform' IMHO, but far too common among Beastformers.

Now, now, not ALL beastformers are like that. There are many, MANY good beastformers.

That, IMHO, are overwhelmed by the sheer number of the ones that ARE like that - with the standout being Supreme Cheetor ( http://www.tfu.info/2000/Maximal/SupCheetor/cheetor.htm ). And even among the ones that aren't like that, we get things like Cybertron / Galaxy Force Backstop.

Backstop may be AWFUL, but he has a unique transformation.

PRiD Magnus was out of the "Binder of Revelations" or what have you. Basically it's from some concept art.
BH Magnus is the fiction-accurate one. He's been depicted in this body a few times now.

I believe Sabrblade hit the nail on the head. Grimwing appears to be an ursagriff which is (as Sabrblade points out) a mix between a bear (ursa) and a griffin (griff). Since a griffin is half lion and half eagle, this means that Grimwing is actually half lion, half bear and half eagle. You should be able to look him up because he's in the same family as man/bear/pig which is half man, half bear, half pig.
Sorry, but I couldn't resist! In a related point, I definitely want Grimwing for my Predacon army and Ultra Magnus is growing on me as well (especially since he appears to be show accurate...for the most part).

I hate to be nitpicky, but he's 1/3 of each of those (bear, lion, eagle)....otherwise you'd have 3 halves of something, which is mathematically impossible....
Of course, you could be joking, which I don't always get over the internet
