Perhaps Selects if ever. I don't hope for anything on my Combiner wish list in my signature, but am completely thrilled if it ever does happen.

Great that your happy, this figure looks perfect. The only problem seems that there is a lot of clear plastic. Glad too see old characters get some faithfully updated figures, Skids looks good too.

My issue is the way the arms look in robot mode, they look more like kibble than part of the alt mode.

So far, if you conveniently ignore the occasional crushed boxes, Amazon.ca is flawless in fulfilling my orders. I think the only times they screwed-up were for the ER special sets. And if I remember that's because some containers were dumped into the sea because God Neptune or some shizz.
No, they got their orders in and then dumped them to a reselling distributor. That's how I eventually got my copy. Ever since then, no more anazon preorders from me.
Must have been a one time thing and just about those specific sets.
As for why they did that, corporations make strange decisions all the time. Like when Target put their MPM-Starscream on deep clearance barely 3 weeks after receiving them.
Don't care what their reason might be, first bitten and twice shy. Ain't preordering from them again.
Plus they also screwed up orders more recently with the Kingdom exclusive Golden Disk terrorsaur in Canada. But I had learnt my lesson, I ordered mine from Amazon.com and got it. Those who ordered from Amazon.ca got screwed, again.
I got my Terrosaur from .com
I'm a bit nervous for the rest but I'll see.

Nope. Right there with ya.... no attachment to the character, so, skipping him entirely.
I'll wait for the inevitable retool... though I wonder who they can use the mold for that has not already been done recently.

Lol I was actually the person who added that to the wiki, as an arthropod enthusiast it bugs the crap out of me that they gave the character whos name is literally the plural of tarantula a beast mode that is a completely different spider. Figure looks amazing though other than that

You are right and Tarantulas is not. Though I still get a greater sense of anticipation for Tarantulas than I do Wildrider because the anticipation isn't for wild rider in and of himself. There's definitely been more critique towards his toy than Tarantulas'.

The two prevailing theories seem to be Armada Thrust based on the shape and Armada Starscream who we know is coming in Legacy. Screamer seems the most likely since the two have similar transformations. Cockpit on the chest, arms under the jet, legs in the back. Obviously it would be pretty extensively retooled.
My one complaint about Jhiaxus is I wish he was a little bigger. He's basically the Transformers answer to Thanos, he should be at least as tall as Kingdom Galvatron. Probably not possible at Voyager price and would likely limit how they reuse the mold.

That one worked well as IDW 2005 Jihaxus where he was shown to be smaller then his G2/Regeneration 1 self.

When I ordered that Jhiaxus years after its release, I thought that it was probably the closest thing that we'd get to the Marvel comics version. Like, at least it was the same guy. Sometimes I don't think we recognize how absolutely spoiled we are as a fandom, the people who make our toys know what we want, even if that means we also get four different Impactors.

You know what's really odd? I had it in my head for the longest time that Jihaxus was red and black, until the Legacy toy was revealed. I'd thought this since at least the mid-00s when I fell back into the brand again.
You are absolutely spot on though. I think we can see a lot of this in the Dinobots release and the statements they made about them. It shows that while the brand will always be fir kids in a sense, the designers want to make sure the adults are having fun too.

It really shows what a change from Aaron "NO!" Archer to John Warden (and now whoever's currently in charge) can do for a brand.ZeroWolf wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:Emerje wrote:My one complaint about Jhiaxus is I wish he was a little bigger. I've said this before and I'll say it again: It's like Warden and Friends (and now the current team) all took notes about everything Archer ever said "NO!" to (G1-accurate designs, Headmasters, full Combiners, G1-accurate Arcee, all five Dinobots, Sky Lynx, etc.), and just decided to give us exactly that.

That eventually changed as the series was absolutely outstanding an revolutionary; same with TF Animated. Did we get continuation for either? Nope. Right back to G1! And now they are G1-izing other lines because they weren't G1 enough. I used to love G1. Frankly though, I'm beyond saturation. I'm curious to see how many others are as well. Can I appreciate it? Not as much as I used to because its EVERYWHERE. It's like COVID...you can't get away from it. It's ruined the joy of G1 for me and it's well on the way to ruining Transformers altogether. We need diversity soon or the dead horse will be beat into little pieces and we'll be looking at 1989 all over again.
Ok, no more coffee for me.

I don't think G1 needs to go away and be shoved into a box and forgotten about, but I'm a lot happier with the leaks and rumors for Legacy than I was when Earthrise came around, exclusively because Legacy is branching out and not just releasing the same designs as before. We still have an Optimus, we still have a Starscream, and we have an Arcee, but they're not G1 again.
And to undo my entire argument about moving away from G1, I'm still hoping we get a commander class Powermaster Optimus Prime/Ginrai and leader class Apex Bomber/Godbomber and a better version of Jazz with the optional door wings

Honestly, RID 2015 had the diversity you speak of, but it feels like Cyberverse became so G1-heavy because of all the "Animals SUCK!" backlash that was received by the designs for the Decepticons in RID 2015. By the third season, they were all mostly swapped out by a new take on the Stunticons with all their G1-based flavor. In hindsight, it was probably a sign of things to come.First-Aid wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What we need is for the TV show lines to go back to being as reinventive as they used to. I completely forgot about the RID 15 series. You're right about that. Initially it was a nice change. I think that was the last cartoon series I seriously collected. WHen Cyberverse came around, I was like "WTF?" and stopped to focus on the Bayverse SS line because they were CREATIVE. Say what you want about the quality of the MOVIE product...Bayverse had really unique new designs that, frankly, we'd never seen. Scavenger, Sideswipe, Arcee triplets- wheels for their feet! Makes sense, wheels are way faster than legs and feet...if you can do it, why not? A combiner with EIGHT figures? A vehicular combiner that had a bot make up half of the vehicle mode? New, different, unique. I think that came with the outside perspective that MB brought. He looked at the bots and said "Why don't they...?" rather than saying, "Let's just redo what we've always done" which seems to be the theme now.

This is an issue with the american entertainment industry as a whole, so you'll be complaining for a long time. Well, maybe not that long, probably only as long as it takes for Transformers to go the way of the superhero comicbook (since they're opting for the same strategy) and be basically dead. So a decade, give or take.
However, I don't agree that fan service is the problem. I loved WFC, I'm loving Legacy, and Studio Series is great. The problem is there's no alternative. The problem is the Bumblebee movie, and that Botbots got a cartoon like five years too late, and when it did it was some Netflix bare minimum effort stuff.

On the other hand, Cyberverse did start bringing in non-G1 faces (Cheetor, Clobber, Sky-Byte, Lockdown, Strika Alphastrike, G2 Afterburner), modern additions to G1 not from the 1980s (Windblade, Volcanicus, Slipstream, Tarn, Doublecrosser), lesser-known/obscure G1 characters (Whirl, Rack'n'Ruin, Bludgeon, Acid Storm, Nova Storm, Maccadam, Repugnus, Soundblaster, Bug Bite, Nightbird, the Dweller, Gnaw), and brand new original characters (Thunderhowl, Meteorfire, Hammerbyte, Shadow Striker, Wildwheel, Megatron X, Teletraan-X, Croaton, Iaconus, Biter, Backbite, Sawtooth, Jawsy, the rest of the surfer-dude Sharkticons, the rest of the Monsterbots). It was definitely diverse, character-wise.First-Aid wrote:WHen Cyberverse came around, I was like "WTF?" and stopped to focus on the Bayverse SS line because they were CREATIVE.

In fact it's because of this recent resurgence that I actually got back into Transformers while sitting out the whole Bay Movie era, I just don't care for those over complicated looking designs plain and simple. Yet I do think a more even landscape would be beneficial to all so that fans of each source could buy the TF's they're into be it G1, Armada, or the Bay movies etc. Because by having those releases I'm not interested in it saves me Money, my only hope is to get certain G1 characters addressed before I exit.
I do have to admit the G1 look for some of these newer characters like Bulkhead and Knockout look cool and certainly tempt me to get, the fact they're not G1 characters allows me to pass on them in the end because they don't fit my collection. So in that regard they should have just went with the original source material for those characters to appeal to those fans of TF Prime. IDK

No, because there are those who do want them but I don't go around crying about how uneven it is every time I get a chance. As G1 Fan the Bayverse years where the most horrid to have to sit around and wait for something I liked so personally it's nice to see some G1 love again.
I agree with this. Saying you want more Bayverse characters in my mind means more Bayverse designs, because you count how many 'characters' there are on one hand. he was saying we G1 fans are saying "Waaaagh", but the only ones I see saying "Waaaaggghh" are those who don't want so much G1 - which is fine by me - not everyone has to want G1, but I don't want it at my expense. As a G1 fan, I DO want new characters or characters from other shows/media to be 'G1-ified' because I love the idea that it's all the same sandbox, and G1 is an easier conversion than other properties in the franchise. I love the G1-ification of Barricade, for instance.

The Jhiaxus mold seems completely separate to Armada Starscream.... seems unlikely they'd use that as basis, more so when SS has at least 3 repaints built in already that can cover the cost of a new mold.
I can buy Armada Thrust since he was a different mold to SS, TC and RJ. But not sure they'd make him a Voyager. He's always been a deluxe even the original mold was a Mega (Armada's Deluxe class).
Still at the very least, whoever gets this mold, will need a new head and new wings.
I keep coming back to Pretender Thunderwing.... seems like the jet and robot mode could possibly be used for him.
Also, don't try to use the Armada Starscream's acronym....

To put inane offtopic debate about things we'll never agree on and none of us have control over aside, I'm glad to hear Armada Starscream is his own mold. Metroplex and Override have got me very excited for him, as there's a good chance that he'll be a proper armada remake and not the pointless mix that Arcee and Bulkhead were.

Agreed 100%. I've made my peace with the fact that im too old to really appreciate what any mainline toy, or media aimed at younger audiences is like. Let them go buck wild. If something by chance catches my interest call it a bonus. If not, then no loss, I still have Generations.
Also I specifically don't get the whole " this line for kids isn't "G1 enough"' ( double quotes because I'd never say that or use those phrases).
But while I'm Not a Rid15 or Cyberverse fan, it's not because they have too much or not enough nostalgia. I just didn't care for the stories in general. But those that say they are "too close" to the original puzzle me, because I find nothing, aside from the obvious character names reuses, similar about them to anything that came before, for good or I'll.

That said, Generations should keep to G1 style when doing G1 characters, but characters from other continuities should be done as they were in said continuity. I really find myself detesting the G1-ified Prime characters, especially Arcee as she was my fave character in that show and this new look is just terrible. I'll always love G1, but I don't want everything to be G1.

Apologies for the lack of responses and posts, I’m trying my best to answer everyone so dont feel neglected if I dont respond. Im just really working hard to make everyone’s FAN tasties come true ( oof dad joke ).
So, here we have Menasor compared to Shattered Glass commander Jetfire just as I promised a scale comparison for yall!! As you can see, our combiner is larger, not by much, but he is basically 12 inches in height with his head horns pushing him to 12 1/2 inches.
I did attach 2 wildriders for the legs but 2 dragstrips will not work, as Ejima san made each arm connection unique to the character.
Swipe right to see how much articulation you have to play with on this combiner, just imagine all the poses!! The ankle rockers really make a large impact!
I also showed some scale comparisons to the voyagers as I feel you can imagine how dlx and core will lineup.
Been a big fan of Motormaster for a long time, the deco colors and design is so striking, I love the boxed out dome! You can see Motormaster here power slamming Optimus
Also, I showed how well combiner wars Sunstreaker fits into Menasors leg socket, as Ive said before, it fits, but does not stay well, as it was not intended to be used with this system. The intention for this combiner was to try to make it the best we could with unique connections.
If you’re a diehard g1 cartoon fan you dont have to display your arm connections seperated as shown here!
More soon! Enjoy!
Thanks for all the support

Retailers who sell the toys keep demanding them, unfortunately.grimdragon2001 wrote:Do we really need Optimus and Megatron in EVERY iteration?
It's really frustrating how pick-and-choose-y this line is being with what gets faithful designs (G1, G2, Beast Wars, and Cybertron) and what doesn't (TF: Prime and now the new Car Robots Black Convoy/RiD 2001 Scourge in the Velocitron subline).grimdragon2001 wrote:That said, Generations should keep to G1 style when doing G1 characters, but characters from other continuities should be done as they were in said continuity.
