Pictures of the new figures can be seen below along with the email from Hasbro. Deathsaurus blew away expectations by ending with over 27,000 figures backed (currently 27,442), more than that of Victory Saber's 26,211. But the final number wont be known for a little longer as they've given backers until January 6, 2023 to cancel if they choose, as well as unresolved payment issues.

Though it raises even further possibilities:
-Does Hasbro have digital renders of all the members for the other halves of the Micromaster Patrols they updated during the WFC trilogy?
-Do they also have some sort of half-assed combined weapon mode?
-Would 28,000 DS backers be the super-duper-secret tier that would've given us the medical equipment Fixit used to separate Megatron and Ratchet, and the magnetic cable Seawatch used to take Bludgeon waterskiing? More likely Jan's Illumina II mech. Dammit, if only I could've bought two...

Technically speaking the Race Track Patrol is also complete, albeit with straight redecos and one member renamed.

They don't appear to be combinable, if they were I'm sure they would have shown that. I don't think them getting made had so much to do with exceeding VS's orders, but simply exceeding a secret number, most likely 20K since that's would have been the next step up from the previous tiers.

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Man, that surprise tier of micromasters is neat, such a nice little bro move on Hasbros part there. Makes me more excited for Deathsaurus actually.
And with that, here is a little look at the Victory cast and how we are looking at in terms of completion. If you count CW Liokaiser, and so long as Dinoking does happen in Legacy, we are only short the Landcross and Road Caesar combiner teams for the cast! Note: I do want a new Liokaiser, but the CW counts as far as the combiner goes in my mind.
I'd actually like a proper LioKaiser as well, but I still count the CW one. Too bad we just couldn't get 2 customized Deluxe Leozak and Jagullar to work with the CW aesthetic, and still use the others as limbs.
Also there is Black Shadow (Sky Shadow), which we had in TR , and Blue Bacchus which still hasn't happened het (they appeared as much as Greatshot did). Also still hoping for proper sized Deluxe Dinoforce members instead of the Core Class ones from core Dinobots.

I am super happy too. It's so cool that these are new molds and unhindered by a third weapon mode.
This is great news for all of us.

Personally, now that we have a better deathsaurus, I would prefer a POTP Starscream as Leozack and Jagullar and Deathcobra as CW Limbs

Flashwave wrote:I am very appreciative of this surprise bonus, and it really helps make the price more reasonable, but I feel like they should have revealed these BEFORE they ended the run to get some extra sales. Maybe not many, I doubt people would back this JUST for Micromasters, but I would be disappointed if I was on the fence and then found out about these
From what I read, it seems a secret tier is the preferred option if given a choice for fans. Numbers only exploded when everything was truly funded. Having these at a higher tier, like 27000 would definitely have created the oposite effect.

I plan to customize that Starscream into Leozack someday too, and have a green KO of Alpha Bravo to customize into Deathcobra (both with Shapeways parts), but as for Jalagar (is it Jagullar? That spelling makes me imagine him trying to blow up Winnie the Pooh), if he can't be the waist, maybe he should be a scout that forms LioKaiser's gun, with Killbison's cannons attached to him? That way all 6 originals could sort of form LK. I still can't decide what Prime Wars figure to use as his base. I've seen Drag Strip customized into a deluxe, and Beachcomber seems most natural for a scout, but maybe Roadtrap would work better?

"Jallguar". Like "Jaguar" but with two Ls between the "Ja" and the "guar". "Jall-guar".Bumblevivisector wrote:Jalagar (is it Jagullar? That spelling makes me imagine him trying to blow up Winnie the Pooh),

These will most likely remain exclusive to the Deathsaurus package, so only available though Haslab

The expected delivery date is still "Fall 2023" which could be anywhere between October and mid-December of this year. For something coming out at that time, I would think we would have seen some sort of tooling by now.

I thought Tigerchest would have a regular gun handle to recreate the OG toy's blaster mode (since it still has the gun barrel) but I dunno if it simply isn't there or Evan overlooked it.

I don't think they've ever mentioned a gun mode, just bow mode, but I suspect you can maybe fake it by just turning it around on his wrist and twisting his arm.

Our good friend and product designer, Evan, has been working tirelessly to ensure that your Emperor of Destruction, HasLab Deathsaurus, is coming along to be a perfect display piece in your Transformers collection! After all, the Emperor wants his figure and form perfect from the start...but, as Evan will tell you, that's not always the way it works out.
Join Evan as he talks you through everything that we look at and evaluate when our early samples arrive, and how we refine your item to be sure it is worthy of its HasLab title. You'll see some side-by-side comparisons with our previous HasLab, Victory Saber, as well as get some sneaky behind-the-scenes information on how Deathsaurus, Pipo, and Boater came to life.

I know there's a reason behind it, but why can't they say "transform "? That's literally in the NAME of the brand.

And that is exactly why. Once it becomes as engrained into the public mind like Kleenex and Q-Tip are for tissues and cotton swabs, it's in danger of becoming generic and thus no longer eligible for trademark or market protection. Then what are we gonna call the line? We've already had Convertors as a competitor line.

Well, ever since they bought out Tonka.
Though there is an awkward 3-way legal tug of war preventing them from doing much more than that...

I don't think Hasbro should worry about it. They can still sue out of existence anymore else that tries to put out another toy with that name
It's simple. This is the easier (and cheaper) solution.

Not to mention Law is a mine field that can blow up in your face unless you know exactly how to use the Chewbacca Defense.

I'm with you BTH. Deathsaurus in it's current state is not that exciting. This Haslab sold me on the decos, not the engineering. What I'm interested to see in the MMs is whether Hasbro fixed the ball & pin joints on those new molds.

The difference is that "Q-Tip" and "Kleenex" are made up words that are easily trademarked. "Transformer" already existed in the dictionary before the brand and they made no real effort to alter it putting it at risk of being revoked. If it weren't for the loose 80s trademark laws I wonder if they would have gotten it in the first place.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what the 40th anniversary Haslab will be in early 2024, although I have a feeling it will be Cybertron/Primus.
