I may be a little bit in love with SkyLynx, especially in Barber's lines for him. 
Mini Shockwave is also adorable!
And in fact, may further reinforce the idea that Bruticus will have very little to do with the comics after all. Shockwave has been gone since Dark Cybertron, after all.

FINALLY A SKY LYNX! SWEET! Even though I would rather he be leader size and not combine, I am very very happy with this voyager. Price is good as well.

I suspect Takara will come to our rescue...again. I also want them to fix Vortex's colors. I know the yellow and red details are toy accurate, as is Hasbro's usual modus operandi, but they look awful. I'd rather the most subdued pallet of the G1 cartoon model.

Sky Reign looks so amazing; and it was clever to pull a 180 (literally) on us with Hotspot/Onslaught. Really cool how balls to the wall they went with Vortex's colors.
While we might have guessed a lot of these molds, way to the US for a loop with Brawl and Swindle. Plus, Swindle is a Stryker-like APC, which makes me think fondly of an old Swindle-as-Drebin movieverse bio I once worked up.

I NEED THAT BRUTICUS!!! Like you wouldn't believe how bad I need him. And I need that Shockwave even more then that. I am perfectly fine with Blast Off being a jet. I don't like Brawl because the stock photos in the other thread made him look green.
Also, is it just me or is Sky Lynx retooled from Silverbolt? His combined form looks like it to me. Granted I don't have Silverbolt so I can't say for sure.

It'd be cool, so long as it doesn't use that god-awful op/motormaster mold; at this point though (with the (pseudo) reveal of Blaster)mare we assuming he'll be a repaint of blaster just for ease of re-purposing these companion figures?

He is (99%) most-assuredly a new mold, having both cyclonus and silverbolt looking at me and the gallery pics of Skyreign brought up. If it is, its a complete gutting of the figure ala rid arcee => chromia, except more.

Isn't Hasbro giving us BOTH colorations though? G1 cartoon AND G1 toy accurate Combaticons at retail?
I love Blast Off as a fighter jet, I just wish they retooled him and Vortex. They could've used one helicopter retool for one of the Victorion helicopters and Vortex and Alpha Bravo/Blades for the other Victorion Helicopter.
I also think that a retool of First Aid would've suited Trailbreaker better as he had the enclosed back but I'm ok with Offroad for Ironhide though because of TFP. They could've then used Offroad for Hoist as the fist on the back kinda looks like a towing device of some sort. Oh well, I missed both Generations Trailbreaker and Hoist so I'll get Trailbreaker without a doubt and if they do Hoist, I'll get him too. Who am I kidding, I'll get all the Autobots regardless. I've just always loved the Scramble City styling. That and my Universe Ironhide's and Prowl's paint got all crappy so I need new ones anyway.
Am I the only one who loves that Chopshop can use his Targetmaster self as a weapon just like Waspinator? So if they truly plan on completing teams then Kickback should be soonish after Chopshop hopefully. Then a Ransack repaint/tool of Kickback and a Barrage repaint/tool of Bombshell. So where does that leave Venom? A retool of Kickback and/or Ransack?
I think I'm going to have to cut myself off at the "leader" class Seeker trio. I would've gotten Voyagers no problem but these I may have to pass on unless I find them on sale like I did Grimlock, Jetfire and Armada Megatron.
Oh yeah I almost forgot. I absolutely LOVE that Sky Lynx. I might have to get two, one for itself and the other for combining.
And why oh why couldn't they have at least changed that all white prime into white with red legs instead of grey? Red legs would've been all it really needed to be so close to a Thunderclash homage. Sure there's a lot of navy and teal missing but the red legs would've looked so good on it especially with Hot Rod as the chest.

I think doing the autobot cars is cool. I get why they have to reuse molds - buy my god can they at least give them new weapons - Ironhide holding and axe and Sunstreaker holding a pipe is just ridiculous and stupid.

Bruticus and Sky Reign look excellent, but because I don't want to end up with too many Combiners (I'm trying to downsize and streamline my collection) I can't see myself getting both teams. Swindle and Onslaught are the only Combaticons I like as stand-alone figures and Brawl is okay, but Vortex and Blast Off feel like no effort was put into them.
Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, Smokescreen, Wheeljack and Battle Core Optimus don't appeal to me, so I might use Ironhide, Prowl and Mirage as Sky Reign's limbs instead, and have Sky Reign be the rival of Menasor (the only complete Combiner Wars combiner I have).
I am a bit sad that there's no Ratchet from the Offroad/First Aid mould (I'd pick Ratchet over Trailbreaker any day) and nothing from Titan Wars was shown or even teased (though I suppose that's what SDCC is for), I'm generally satisfied with what was shown at BotCon.

It me or is my wallet getting lighter? Also i would pass on the onslaught figure and blast off the wreck-gar looks like wheelier colors and those wheeljack sunstreaker mirage and ironhide figures as well balecause theg don't entirely fit the characters i will just wait fo4 an third oarty to make an new onsluaght and blast-off besides that that sky lynx is AWESOME i will definitely less likelh keeping him in combined mode and oeave him as be But i hope he can split componetsif he can

To be fair, of the available molds, he would probably use the one for Defensor, and then have a near-identical paint scheme, it would probably feel (to the fans) really underhanded. as for vortex, we knew this was coming, wish they had made it so the missiles didn't look like a glob of bright yellow plastic on such a muted color scheme; really wouldn't have minded a departure from toy accuracy there.

Sunstreaker, Trailbreaker, Smokescreen, Wheeljack and Battle Core Optimus don't appeal to me, so I might use Ironhide, Prowl and Mirage as Sky Reign's limbs instead, and have Sky Reign be the rival of Menasor (the only complete Combiner Wars combiner I have).
I am a bit sad that there's no Ratchet from the Offroad/First Aid mould (I'd pick Ratchet over Trailbreaker any day) and nothing from Titan Wars was shown or even teased (though I suppose that's what SDCC is for), I'm generally satisfied with what was shown at BotCon.
To be fair, of the available molds, he would probably use the one for Defensor, and then have a near-identical paint scheme, it would probably feel (to the fans) really underhanded. as for vortex, we knew this was coming, wish they had made it so the missiles didn't look like a glob of bright yellow plastic on such a muted color scheme; really wouldn't have minded a departure from toy accuracy there.

Bruticus and Sky Reign look excellent, but because I don't want to end up with too many Combiners (I'm trying to downsize and streamline my collection) I can't see myself getting both teams. Swindle and Onslaught are the only Combaticons I like as stand-alone figures and Brawl is okay, but Vortex and Blast Off feel like no effort was put into them.

I usually switch my Stunticons back and forth; leave them as Menasor for a few days or weeks, then break him apart and display the individual Stunticons for a few days or weeks. I'll likely do the same with Sky Lynx/Sky Reign.

Oh wow. Those Combaticons are beautiful. They were my first and favorite of the Special Teams when I was little. I don't care that BlastOff is a jet, the colors and robot mode are great.

Here's my thoughts on the reveals:
The '84 limb bots are looking really good, better then I thought they would! Even Ironhide, the one of the four I was feeling the least since I'd rather he be a van then a pick-up. (Still wish they'd maybe used First Aid's mold with the light bar removed...) But still, color me impressed.
Battle Core Optimus, as it seems they are officially calling the white Optimus Prime, also looks better then I was expecting. Still, I think I will stick with my original plans and skip him, and just use the already released red Optimus as the core of that combiner.
Bruticus looks really good, too! I am a bit miffed about Blast Off, though, being a jet... Although frankly, it isn't unexpected. And I am sure many (the same people who were happy to see Groove made Legends Class) will actually prefer this over a space shuttle. I do wonder if, though, much like with Groove, Takara might pull a new mold out of their butts for Blast Off.
Nice to see Brawl as a new mold. A lot of people were expecting him to be a heavy remold of Rook. Instead, it is Swindle who is the Rook remold? Interesting.
With Vortex... Man, with all of the remolding going on with the various figures, it is amazing that this is the third use of this mold, and the only thing they've ever changed on any of 'em was the coloring and the head. You'd think one of 'em, at least, could have gotten a little re-sculpting outside of the head.
Still not sure if I will get this Bruticus or stay happy with my Fansproject augmented Asian Exclusive one. But I will say that it seems like it might be a harder choice then I was previously thinking it would!
If nothing else, though, as far as Bruticus goes, I think I'll have that Legends Shockwave!
It will be nice to finally get a Buzzsaw for my Classics collection. And hopefully he also gets a Lazerbeak repaint, so I can retire my Real Gear Booster X-10. What is that his alt mode is supposed to be, though? A hand held game system? An MP3 player?
Holy crap, Sky Lynx. Sky Lynx! He will be mine. Oh yes, he will be mine. Somehow I doubt it, but I wonder if he can be pulled in half and form the two separate animals as well? It won't be the end of the world if he can't, but I would be so excited if he can! Somehow, though, I doubt it, since he also has to form a combiner torso. I suppose they at least give that a nod, though, by having the gestalt's head resemble the original lynx's head.
And another wave of random Autobots made out of limb-bot repaints, intended as limbs for Sky Lynx's gestalt. Dunno, maybe I'll get these. They do look good. But I don't really need them... Of course, I didn't need the wave intended to go with Optimus either, and I was already planning on getting those even before images of them had been revealed. And much like those, for random repaints, these seem to work surprisingly well. And hey, if I skip Bruticus, and since I am already going Takara for Defensor, Hound might be a good way for me to experience thee Rook mold.
I am a bit perplexed with Legends Wreck-Gar being advertised as a part of the Sky Lynx combiner, since Wreck-Gar is a Groove repaint. And Groove was designed to be a chest plate to attach to Hot Spot. So how would Wreck-Gar attach to Sky Lynx? (Since he is not pictured as doing so, the pictures aren't much help.)
Also, if they are already doing an orange repaint of Groove for Wreck-Gar, I wonder if this bodes well for Afterburner getting a new mold when they get around to Computron? I would have hoped so, anyway. But this makes me feel better about such hopes, as I doubt they'd want to do to such similar redecos of the same mold.
I am amused by the slide about the SDCC Devastator, proclaiming the new features, when they just got totally owned by Takara on that front.

I love the direction the designers are taking this whole line. I'm glad we got updates of the classics but all the "left field" that's going on is fantastic. It's great that we are getting all the classic characters with the combiner playability and modularity imposed on them. Makes me feel ok about having multiples of these characters. I love my Classics Mirage, but he can't be Sky Lynx's arm! Oh! and Sky Lynx? HELLZ YEEYA!
I'm a little worried about getting worn out on all the mold regurgitation going on, but that's also coming from a "try not to duoble up on molds" theory. But, hell, I kicked that theory to the curb at the introduction of this line.

I'm sure there will be some re-use of it eventually. Hopefully as someone I want, as I am on the fence about getting these Combaticons. It is a gorgeous tank, though. But usually I just see H-tanks as just a lazy way to fold a four limbed robot into a tank without having to put too much thought into the design.)

I'm sure there will be some re-use of it eventually. Hopefully as someone I want, as I am on the fence about getting these Combaticons. It is a gorgeous tank, though. The Combaticons look amazing but I reaallly wish they'd properly reshelled Vortex rather than just redecoing him. I am glad they made Blast Off a jet though, a space shuttle was always a stupid alt mode.
Legends Shockwave is awesome. Legends Chop Shop looks good but he needs different mandibles.
Sky Lynx looks great. The combiner feature is nice too, but I'll be displaying him with my Legends.
Couldn't care less about the various retool Autobots. A nice idea but I'm not interested.

Wow, some pretty cool stuff coming out. That Sky Lynx looks amazing. I have no idea why he's a combiner torso, nor do I care for it, but I just love the way he looks and will certainly be getting him.
As for the Autobot limb bots - can't say I'm interested. The existing CHUG versions are still good enough for me, and these aren't big enough an improvement for me to want to buy them. Perhaps Prowl I might shell out for, only because I prefer the head sculpt to the current Classics version. The Legends figures don't do it for me either. Don't like the Wreck Gar figure, and Pipes just doesn't work for me at all.
As for Bruticus - well I'm torn. Don't get me wrong he looks great in combined mode, really does. However, my general rule is to not do more than one version of a character (due to money and space issues) and I'm actually really happy with my FoC version with the Boosticus upgrade. I love the Cybertronian look of the FoC version, but the downside is that he's a little flimsy in comparison to these, much sturdier CW combiners. I don't like Blast Off as a jet (think it's really lazy by Hasbro), but I'm sure Takara will rectify that. Just not sure with CW Bruticus at the moment, and after spending hundreds on Defensor, Superion and Menasor I don't think I can justify buying a second Bruticus, especially since Computron is likely to appear too.

I love this version of Bruticus, I might have to jump in and buy another combiner. Onslaught, one of my favorite Decepticons looks really good, so does Brawl!

Um i would probably say get the takara verison but i would say you should wait for an third party to make abtter torso for bruticus

gotta say as much as i love what theyve done with defensor devestator and superion ive already got the originals so i felt no need to pick em up.
by the same reasoning i wont be picking up bruticus. no matter how cool he looks (and he is)
but i love the idea of original ones like sky reign . am bitterly disappointed in battle core optimus though. i was hoping it would be a better version of whats been released already for ultra prime as i didnt like the head mold on that and thought the overall look was a bit "cheap", so i was gonna pick him up to make optimus maximus.
but i dont like the white colour.
so looks like my option now is to pick up the existing red prime and wait for the lads to make up a "propper" optimus maximus when the come out next year.
TBH though for the first time i may actually buy into the "scramble city" style of these combiners.
like i said i like the idea of sky reign but im not a big fan of many of his limbs so i could see myself getting skylynx and forming him with mirage, ironhide, prowl , and hound.
i dunno but its the first time ive thought of going outside the "official" line up on a combiner.
whats really making me laugh though is here we are on year two of combiner wars and so fare we STILL cant make the "optimus prime combiner" from "masquerade"!
come on lads, ya have mirage and prime, a retool of the stunticons to give us windcharger (deluxe size ) sideswipe and jazz should be no problem.
its a no brainer !
dont want to come off as negative though, this has been the best period for updates in ages and im well happy with em. only sore spot i have is that being from ireland the only way i'll get HALF em will be online as the product turnout on the shelf is beyond shyte.
all i really need now is to get some love shown for the beast combiner bots, we need us some predaking/abominus/pirannacon.
hell a proper monstructor would be great ! especially considering his role in the comics so far.
