- Stand Alone Film: Wahlberg says this film is much from the past three and can really stand alone.
- Even Darker Optimus Pime: When government agents led by Savoy (Titus Welliver) arrive at the Yeager farm to apprehend Optimus Prime he opens fire on them. They describe Prime as more desperate and vulnerable than in previous films.
- Lockdown - Bounty Hunter and Trophy Hunter: Lockdown seems to be heavily influenced by his Animated persona. In addition to being a bounty hunter he also collects parts from his prey to upgrade himself. They describe him as a old western style gunslinger in robot form.
- Government Transformers: As we already knew the government has been working on their own Transformers. Stanley Tucci's character Joshua appears to be the lead scientist with a grudge against the Transformers. Kelsey Grammar's character Harold Attinger is the head of the government group hunting the Transformers still on planet. He is in control of Galvatron, which is speculated to be Megatron rebuilt by the government. The human controlled Transformers are apparently referred to as Avatrons.
- Dinobots: Oddly not a lot of Dinobot information. They mention an actual dinosaur is shown in "Tree of Life" type moment. IGN mentions that Grimlock is present during the confrontation between Optimus Prime, the government agents, and Lockdown, which seems a little off timeline, an error on their part perhaps?

They'll never learn.

I don't think they have the cast in this one that can save a dreadful story.
I meant from what we've seen so far of the story. From previous spoilers and reveals of the past movies we were able to get a pretty good tone from what was going to be going on, particularly in Dark of the Moon with the whole race to the moon thing. So far what we've seen just seems kind of lame. Of course I reserve judgement until the movie is out and I've seen it but the anticipation is not high for me on this one.

Megatron Wolf wrote:looks like another paint by numbers bay movie but at least lockdowns personality sounds right, to bad he looks terrible. I can already see how this movie is going to pan out, the humans send galvatron after prime but prime kicks his ass, lockdown comes out of nowhere (possibly a herald of unicron kinda like silver surfer) and takes down prime, galvatron breaks the control teams up with lockdown then they either "kill" prime & leave him for dead or they get distracted by fighting humans and prime escapes, prime winds up in japan gets super powers & dinobots returns to kill lockdown chop off galvagrons head & destroy the human controled TFs, then if unicron is in the movie prime sacrifices himself to stop him. There you go now just add in a bunch of mindless human drama & dialog and you have age of extinction. i just saved you $20 & 2 hours of your time, your welcome.
Because you've obviously seen the movie. Also, you didn't save me shit. Even if that was the movie, it means nothing if I didn't actually see it.

ILL-Star wrote:I don't mind hearing that Optimus may once again come off a little dark. It makes sense. Even in ROTF and DOTM, it made sense that Optimus can be a killing machine. Surely he's not the leader of an entire army solely based upon his belief in freedom being right of all sentient beings. And now humanity has turned against him after he nearly died saving Earth. If I were Optimus, I'd be pretty damn mad too.
Optimus has become increasingly more pissed off with each movie. That's why I like this Optimus.

You want dark and angst? Watch Batman or something.

Anyone who followed Transformers Prime will remember that Silas tried something very similar... And it didn't end well for him.

And the Machination of IDW did the same even earlier, only they also integrated the Headmaster concept into it.Nemesis Primal wrote:Regarding the Avatron thing...

So help me god, if there is not more than 5 minutes of combined dialogue from the actual transformers in this movie I will buy the toys and create my own stop motion you tube video recreation of how the movie should have gone.
I am very excited for the dinobots and especially lockdown. I like the idea of galvatron as a rebuilt megatron, if that's how it ends up. But will there be any reason behind the dinobots? Will lockdown be sneaky and cocky, will he interact with his prey at all??
the sheer randomness of characters like the wreckers, devastator, shockwave, the twins has totally annoyed me. C'mon Bay, let's have the transformers talk this time around!!

User897 wrote:Yeah but at the end of the day, Prime has always been the wise one that supported the individual needs of his Autobot brothers. Sure, there are battles and wars that he experienced, but because he is Optimus Prime, he still can be an inspiration to those around him, rather than saying stupid shit like "We will kill them all." That is just so out of character. If I were Cullen, I would have refused to say that line and some others. He's a hero BECAUSE he doesn't resort to saying or doing the stupid shit. Whether the Matrix of Leadership helps offer that serenity to him, I don't know. But, there are things that Optimus Prime would say, even in a hopeless situation. Some of his lines in these clusterfuck movies, no way in hell would one of the most iconic and fatherly figures in pop culture, Optimus Effing Prime, say them.

Batman doesn't kill. Optimus does.

YRQRM0 wrote:Bleh. Saw the whole human-controlled Galvatron thing. It would be awesome if he somehow broke free from their control and just whooped them all.
Yeah, somehow I don't think he's under human control when he rips that car in half.
Besides, I'm sure if Lockdown is a true Decepticon, he's probably pretty pissed that his dear leader was murdered, and he'll do anything to bring him back if he can. The humans have inadvertently done most of that work for him by building a new functioning body that is more powerful than Megatron's original form. I assume that if the government has possession of Megatron, that means they have probably kept his disembodied spark, so you can do the math.

And from the sound of things, Galvatron is remote controlled by a human operator like how Nemesis Prime was controlled by Silas in TF: Prime.

While that is true, I was backing up the fact that Optimus Prime, as we know him, has gone off the reservation and it's seen as a weakness for such a noble character, instead of a "badass dude" feeling that Bay was trying to convey. I just think there were moments where he was out of character, and it really hurt the films by doing so.

Maybe he's Spark is able to survived thanks to Allspark's shard in his core?Sabrblade wrote:Not unless the spark was extinguished.
My theory is that Megatron was the first they start to study and they rebuil his body, beliving that he is dead. But Megatron's Spark and Mind survived in some way (either spark, or data in Megatron's brain) and this is how Megatron will return to his upregaded body.Sabrblade wrote:And from the sound of things, Galvatron is remote controlled by a human operator like how Nemesis Prime was controlled by Silas in TF: Prime.

Well, for me, it helped them.

Since S7 used NBE 1 for 50 Years making the modern world what it is today who says they cant make their own Transformers.
To me from what I have seen they seem on part with anything Cybertronian.
Maybe Galvatron will become his self somehow during the film & break free from Human Control & maybe the DARK SPARK is somehow the key to his return.
Keep in mind Galvtron always uses some sort of Power Booster, being in Energon with Super Energon, Cybertron with Cyber Planet Key + His Fury then Taps into Giant Planets Key, G1 through Unicron.
But in AOE Galvatron is being done like Nemesis Prime in Transformers Prime being controlled by MECH then now in AOE humans are doing the same with Galvatron.
