Swerve still has Kup's musket rifle Springer has the sword, and that made him go up from "No way" to "maybe" on my list. Hot Spot looks more like Defensor, surprisingly, but he's still a must get, as well as Megatron.
And poor Motormaster can't catch a break, can he? First the indignity of becoming an Optimus Prime repaint like so many others, now his name had to be changed (trademarks, you know?) to Motorbreath of all names. Still, can't beat Trenchmouth.
Really? That's a GUN? I honestly can't tell. It's probably a combination of blurry pics and the fact that my glasses are in the other room. Either way, Swerve still looks good.

Maybe overstock will come over, or be offered on HTS. More likely Europe will eventually import them cheap.

All of them, sans Megatron maybe, are on my must-buy list, assuming they go for a lot less than the Japanese TFP line...

Powerdive hmm...I might get him since I missed out on the original mould.
The legends looks good but I made a promise not to buy them anymore @_@...
The scouts looks more or less the same as the original version.
The FE repaints arent needed since I have them both and they both look worse than the original one o.O...
The best part is I dont have to worry about them not arriving here since I'm in the South-East Asia region . Sweeeeeet~

Hot Spot is great. I was waiting for it. The rest.......silly. Swerve, Springer and Megatron have to be the worst to me.
Wheelie raised a brow for a second. I would only ever get Wheelie if i found him on the shelves. I wouldn't get it sent overseas. But i do like the colours. (as blurry as they are in those photos). As i've said before, that's a great mold but it's perilously close to being over used to a point where i no longer like it.

Yea, I don't mind the name Motorbreath too much, but I have to wonder why they didn't just call him "The Motormaster" like they did for last year's Botcon set.

Like many have said, Warbot Defender blows this version of Springer out of the water. Wheelie's kind of a joke. Jazz's gigantic, buff body doesn't fit at all with Wheelie. It's like he got ahold of the Matrix and became Wheelimus Prime. Or at least he's been working out since TFTM.

Gauntlet101010 wrote:Cliffjumper seems like a good buy for my classics collection. I have Gen Cliffy, but I've never liked that gangly look. Hot Spot is tempting, but how much will he cost? Plus he doesn't combine into Defensor and I've never been a big fan of him. So he's a maybe.

Nailed it. He's my classics Wheelimus Prime. Needs a bigger sling shot though.

Honestly, that Titanium Hotzone is one of the most underated figures of the last decade, maybe ever. He's an amazing tribute to the original figure and would probably scale better with most of your figures than the one you just saw, unless your collection is Voyager heavy.
As far as whether I grab any of these guys, prize will determine a lot of it for me. The legends Hoist seems most likely.

Hotspot is the only decent 1 out of the lot of these guys. Swerve using Kups mould just doesnt make sense and seems abit pointless considering hes being made by a 3rd party company anyways
Surely having kups mould repainted red/grey would have made a Better Orion Pax??? i guess the obvious isnt there on this one.
The rest are just horrible....seriously horrible...i mean wtf is up with wheelie using jazzs body? it just looks so wrong like a failed custom no one cared to finished
I know the old saying is 2 outa 3 anit bad....but what? 1 outa 13? I only collect classics so this is just a massive disapointment to me

With all respect, you've been drinking way too much 3rd party Kool-Aid to even suggest something like that.

He probably means that since Igear is putting out a Gears in the minibots line, a Swerve retool will soon follow.

I only want Powerdive, Swerve, Wheelie (gotta love that sling-shot) and maybe Megatron.
The others I've already got covered or don't care for, I have no need for Combiner team members who don't combine or homages that aren't good enough like Sandstorm and Springer (although Springer looks cool).
Seriously Brawn looks hilarious with that complex and huge Prime body and the tiny Classics styled head. That looks like it's the first Transformer ever that will not only look out of place with any line but out of place with itself.

yeah, and I like Rager. Not so keen on the huge-ification process that the new ones are undergoing, particularly what it's doing to the prices, but still, I'm glad to see Hasbro at least attempt to release characters in new, relatively inexpensive forms for the mass-market. Swerve isn't a character I'm particularly invested in, despite owning the original toy, but the Kup mold is decent, and if the toy looks good I could see myself picking it up. If not, I'm sure others will, either for the character, the mold or just because it's a shiny new Transformer.
I don't own the FP Warbot version of Springer. I'd like a version of Springer to go in my Classics collection. I'm not sure that this DOTM repaint will do it, but it's not hurting anyone that I have the choice to make.
edit: Think about it with Devastator. Right now there are 2 high-price items out there from 3rd parties. Both look pretty nice to me, but would I be upset if Hasbro suddenly revealed their own neoG1 Devy at Deluxe or Voyager size? I'd gladly pay the £20 per figure for a 6-bot strong version of the Constructicons that formed a badass looking Devastator. It just seems unlikely that Hasbro would a)try and b)pull it off. I don't like 3rd parties because of some ill-will towards Hasbro, I like them because they give us choice. I can't fathom why anyone would dislike Hasbro for offering the same.

Let me clarify.
Why would it be pointless to buy an official Transformers product just because a 3rd party company would be coming out with another one?

Hot Zone is very poorly scaled to fit with classics, and the lack of articulation really makes him fit even less. Basically over-sized legends.
Don't get me wrong, great figure, does not fit in well with Classics/G3. Now this Hot Spot needs a new head that is either black with red eyes and has a mouth plate, or blue with red eyes like the show model.
I sense a 3rd party company stepping up to fill that need.

Now this, forget scale... the scale of his original character was fro price point only... this scale makes perfect sense. I missed getting the FE as I don't wish to pay $80 for a $25 mold... but I'll do it for this Brawn.
he's close enough that he might work as Bulkhead anyway, depending what the head is like (looks remolded from the teeny tiny blurry picture) and really FE Bulk looked like a very nice toy. I'd actually been hoping they'd repaint it in some totally different colour-scheme, and feel this is maybe a little too close to the original, but it is sort of tempting.

Aside from that, Swerve looks great, mostly because that Kup mold in red looks shmexy. I'm also digging Megatron out of ROTF Bludgeon. Kind of an homage to Armada, with the samurai getup of Alternity Megatron.
Hot Spot I'd be interested in Hot Spot, mainly because I never got Inferno or Grapple (That mold still need to be repainted into Optimus).

Odds are, you will be paying close to $80 for this too, as the Japan exclusive DOTM Vortex was $40 at deluxe scale.

Um, What? We're talking about the Titanium version (RID Optimus reopaint) and not the Legends one, right?
He's roughly the same size as just about every Autobot deluxe from the Classicsverse lines (Mirage, Prowl, Hound, etc) as well as the Seeker mold.
He's also one of the most poseable Titaniums and doesn't have the fallaprt issues that many of them do.

Kind of funny, but the PRID mold might fit better for Brawn. There are faux wings like the G1 toy had, and a slimmer belly.
Just saying from my POV.

I mean, it seems like they could do some Western Exclusives instead of just forcing us to import these like chumps (which of course, I will be doing...especially my boy HotSpot).
I was kinda hoping for Generations to do another set of combiners like the Combaticons, and was crossing my fingers for the Protectobots, but that seems unlikely now.

I like it too. Looks like the head from RTS Windcharger is on it.
Swerve is growing on me, but I can't see the head well.
Springer I'll get for my Springer collection.
I am at least interested in each to see the head that they use for each (brand new or from a different mold), and the paint jobs. When we get better images, I'll make final choices, along with prices. Asian market folks will be able to turn some money, unless HTS offers these like they have with some other Asian exclusives.
Waiting game on.

I want to see a clearer picture of Swerve. I'm really disappointed in Springer, but then again, they've yet to get him right since G1. Glad I have Warbot.
Posted by Convotron on May 24th, 2012 @ 10:12am CDT
I would also like to see certain characters like Springer get more care in treatment. Rather than a retool of an existing mold, why not develop a new mold, one that is a proper triple changer? We've yet to see a Springer post first release that wasn't a reuse of a mold.
It's an effective business tactic, to reuse molds and just slightly retool and recolour, but it doesn't hit it out of the park for me.

A larger TF who's toy is the same size as average-sized TFs don't make for a good scale.Delicon wrote:He's roughly the same size as just about every Autobot deluxe from the Classicsverse lines (Mirage, Prowl, Hound, etc) as well as the Seeker mold.

Yea, well that isn't a Classcis Brawl. Plus I've already got a Classics Brawl the Universe 2008 one.
Man this is a weird set of figures the more you think about them, movie, Classics and Prime all muddled together.
