Seibertronian Black Hat has informed us some of the deluxe figures from the Transformers Studio Series line have been shown over on 4chan, with the original source being Russian retailer OZON.RU. The leaked images are likely stock photography for Ratchet, Stinger, Crowbar, and the same Bumblebee we saw in hand a few days ago. Obviously this is not the entire Studio Series range, the rest of which we'll probably see just later today at New York Toy Fair! Take a look at the images mirrored below and tell us in the Energon Pub forums what you think of them, and if you'll be inclined to pick them up when they hit store shelves later in the year!

Coming from ScreenRant we have learned the first details about the relaunch of the Mighty Muggs toy line for Transformers. As you know Mighty Muggs are the super deformed and simplified figures Hasbro used to produce for a variety of their lines ranging from Star Wars to Transformers. Here we get a little look at what is in store for us in the future when these things make a bold return to stores. Hasbro released the following information regarding the line's status:

We've received another email update from the TFNation team, and it contains another guest announcement for this year's Birmingham, UK, convention! In addition to their already star-studded list of guests, including Nick Roche, James Roberts, and Stan Bush, original Transformers comic artist Mike Collins will be in attendance! You might know him from his involvement in the original Marvel TF comics, or his work with the Transformers Ladybird series of books, or his storyboard work for Doctor Who and Sherlock! A new guest joining us for TFNation 2018, but by no means a newcomer to the Transformers scene is artist Mike Collins! Mike was the hands behind the Man of Iron (1985/87), the first story in the Marvel comics originating in the UK, and several more, eventually also co-writing Crisis of Command! (1985-86), which introduced the recurring self-doubting character trait in Optimus Prime.
Despite leaving the comics by the end of 1985, he didn’t leave Transformers entirely behind: along with Mike Farmer, he illustrated the first four Ladybird Transformers books, which became the gateway to Transformers fiction for a number of children at the time.

Mike continued to contribute to other comics, though moving into Action Force, the European precursor to G.I. Joe, which also included recent returner and fan-favourite Action Man. Mike later made his way to 2000AD, Marvel and DC, and his art can be found in the pages of Flash, Teen Titans, and The Uncanny X-Men – where he first introduced the questionable but charming character of Gambit. He has also worked on the likes of Star Trek, Wonder Woman, several 2000AD titles, and as of 2005, returning to UK material with Doctor Who Magazine, and the two Doctor Who original Graphic Novels published by the BBC.

A name you might also know from outside of comics, Mike has provided storyboards for TV and films including Doctor Who, Horrid Henry, and Sherlock.

Mike will be present at TFNation 2018 all weekend, signing autographs, talking fandom, and probably willing to sketch some art for attendees

As you've seen from our highlight post on the Paramount and Allspark Studios output here, there is some news coming out of the investor call with Hasbro (including CEO Brian Goldner) regarding Transformers, though it is true that the entertainment side of the franchise is the only one that really mattered today.

To round out the roadmap and reboot, then, we have some expanding partnerships with Chinese media and China in general, as the revenue has increased over the past year, looking at the live-action and CG show we previously covered here, and the presence of online gaming through Transformers Online and even Earth Wars. There are also hints towards a new animated series collaboration called Transformers Nezha (see images below).

It looks likes Wonderfest 2018 - the Japanese one-day hobby industry event taking place outside Tokyo, usually coinciding with the New York Toy Fair - will be seeing even more black, purple and blue toys, as the official Twitter [url]account[/url] for Takara Tomy Transformers has shared some images of another 'Nemesis' version of a movieverse toy: Voyager Grimlock from the Age of Extinction line!

According to a very bad machine translation of the post, it'll be some kind of point-based purchase, and the listing on the official Wonderfest page on the Takara Tomy site included a full list of other toys that will be available to pre-order during the event, including the likes of LG-EX God Ginrai, UW-EX Lynxmaster and Megatronia, several Masterpiece figures including the recent MP 15/16 E Cassettebots vs Cassettrons, the two Nemesis figures, Movie The Best Laserbeak (Pink Bumblebee), and more. Courtesy of Takara Tomy, we have details about the regularly occuring event Wonderfest and its 2018 edition, and more specifically, the Takara Tomy Transformers presence at the festival. Wonderfest will take place concurrently with New York Toy Fair on Sunday 18th February 2018 (NYTF is 17-20th February), and only lasts the one day at the Makuhari Messe area in Chiba, outside Tokyo.

According to Takara Tomy, we will see their Power of the Primes figures debuting (though yes, they are the same as the Hasbro releases), as well as movieverse toys and displays covering lines such as Movie the Best, Lost Age, and The Last Knight, with some speculation about the new Studio Series too. The event will also bring an exclusive Takara Tomy Mall Evasion Mode Nemesis Prime, not available physically at the show but to be pre-ordered during Wonderfest, with delivery later in the week. Yet another update just in time for the weekend, from the folks at TFNation - the UK's biggest Transformers fan convention, taking place for the third year this summer in Birmingham - and it's another name from the comics: Nick Roche!

Operation: The One That Got Away

One of the returning guests to TFNation 2018 is currently only involved in Transformers by the series of variant covers for ongoing IDW Publishing comics series Transformers: Lost Light, but Nick Roche still holds a dear place in the fandom since his noteworthy debut on Spotlight: Shockwave (as artist) and Spotlight: Kup (as artist and writer).

Another of the original Transmasters UK fan community members, during the era of early Marvel comics, Roche has collaborated with writer James Roberts (also attending the TFNation) on fan-favourite Last Stand of the Wreckers, and took it solo, with Josh Burcham on colours, on its moving sequel - Sins of the Wreckers.

Since then, Roche has been seen mostly outside of the printed realm of Transformers comics, working as co-creator and artist on one-shots Monster Motors and Monster Motors: The Curse of Minivan Helsing (with Brian Lynch), and interior artist on Marvel’s Revolutionary War, Revolutionary War: Death’s Head II, New Warriors, and most recently Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows (with Jody Houser). He also regularly contributes cover art to Marvel and IDW comics, including the likes of Clue, Deadpool vs The Punisher, Doctor Who, Robotech, TMNT, and more.

The second guest announcement from TFcon Toronto 2018, taking place on July 13-15 2018, comes in the form of a voice actor of old, from the original Generation 1 animated series: Hal Rayle, the voice of Dinobot Snarl!

We are happy to welcome actor Hal Rayle to Toronto for his first ever TFcon. The voices of Shrapnel, Snarl, Pipes and Skuxxoid in Transformers Generation 1, fans of the 80s will also remember him as the voice of Deep Six in G.I. Joe and the voice of the Predator creature in Predator 2.

Hal will be taking part in Q&A panels and autograph sessions with the attendees of the world’s largest fan-run Transformers convention all weekend long.
