We've known that this has been coming for years.

Since the Heavy Metal Warriors first faced off against each other back in 2003 we have seen HMW grow and develop into the wargame we all know and love to hate, but we also knew its time was running out and a new world would one day take its place.

Then, a month ago, this was released: The first teaser for HMW2.
The first peek into a whole new world and whet the appetite for what was to come.

Now, thanks to Omega Sentinel, we can get our next insight in to how some aspects of the future of Heavy Metal War will change.

Dreamworks and Universal end talks of distribution

In what seems to be an ongoing breakdown of relations between movie producing companies Universal Studios and Dreamworks SKG, talks have ended regarding the distribution rights for Dreamworks films by Universal.

Seibertron.com previously reported on the distribution agreements with both Universal and Reliance films looking to retain Dreamworks here.. But as this most recent report shows, the original deal thought to be made between Universal Studios and Dreamworks was never finalized and Reliance films apparently did not have the financial backing sought by Dreamworks owner, Steven Speilberg.

In a recent article posted at Reuters.com it is reported that Universal had "broken off" weeks of distribution discussion when Spielberg's company "demanded material changes to previously agreed upon terms."

Dreamworks is reported to be in talks with Walt Disney Studios in search of a distribution deal, according to a insider.

What this could mean for future film releases such as the Transformers sequels remains to be seen. Walt Disney Studios has featured much success in the movie distribution field showing its ability with multiple cartoon feature releases such as Aladdin and Atlantis: The Lost City.

TF2 ROTF Game Teaser now online

Game and entertainment website IGN have posted an article and teaser trailer for the new Activision created Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen game.

The teaser trailer is from the PS3 version, and while contains no spoilers regarding the actual movie, it does contain a number of interesting clips.

Also of note is that the Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen game will differ across the various number of platforms it will be available on. Just like the original transformers Movie Game, the Nintendo DS will see both an Autobot and Decepticon version, will the PS3 and 360 versions will allow you to command both factions in the same game. The Wii and PS2 will have yet another version of the game that will play to the strengths of each system.

It appears that no venue or product in known creation is capable of avoiding being part of the Transformers phenomena. With the myriad of products that bear the TF logo or representation on them, this should come as no surprise.

Australian hand bag maker Fink Studio has taken it upon itself to create the ultimate in formal wear accessories: Autobot and Decepticon cuff links.







If you like these new additions to TF lore, you're far from alone as all sets of these cuff links have sold out. No word on whether or not these will be available again at this time.

Bloomberg has reported on the viewers ratings during last sunday nights superbowl. In their article it was reveiled that the teaser trailer for Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was ranked at 5th place in the ratings amoungst the shown commercials during the breaks. This marks the first time since 2003 that a movie trailer is listed within the overall top 10 rated commercials.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is set for release on June 26th 2009.

Community member, Optimist_Prime has shared an image that advertises the next issue of Toyfare.

According to the picture and Optimist_Prime, the issue will preview the movie and movie toys, but it's only conjecture based upon the advertisement.

A local dutch news station rtf Drenthe has announced in an article on their site that the first ever dutch Astronaut Wubbo Ockels will open an expostion about Toys in Space. It will feature all kinds of robots and toys, including Transformers, that has an outer space theme to them.

The exposition will be opened on Friday the 13th of February and will be open to the public the day after. It will be held in Roden, Drenthe, the Netherlands at the Foundation of the Dutch Museum "Kinderwereld" or 'Childeren's world"
