Some official images have surfaced of the upcoming Premium Series Ironhide and Blackout from the
Transformers Movie toyline. The images show both figures in vehicle and robot modes as well as our first look at the Premium series packaging. both figures will see a mass retail (these are not store exclusives) and will ship, according to the Entertainment Earth listing
here, in April 2008.

Variety.com, BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) have posted their nominations for the 2008 Orange Rising Star Award to be given out at the British Academy Film Awards, to be held on February 10th.
Shia LeBeouf has been nominated for his performance in the
Transformers Movie. The other nominees are as follows:
- Ellen Page (“Juno”)
- Sienna Miller (“Stardust”)
- Sam Riley (“Control”) and
- Tang Wei (“Lust, Caution”)
The Award will be decided by a public vote.

More good news has emerged concerning the live action
Transformers Movie, this time
Reuters has named the
Transformers Movie as the highest selling DVD of 2007 in the USA, based of data from the Digital Entertainment Group.
Transformers topped the list with a whopping 13.7 million sales, 200,000 units more than the second placed DVD Happy Feet.
The top Ten selling DVD's in the USA for 2008 were as follows:
#10: "The Bourne Ultimatum" 10 7.4 million
#9: "Night at the Museum" 8.7 million
#8: "The Departed" 8.9 million
#7: "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" 10.1 million
#6: "Ratatouille" 12 million
#5: "Shrek the Third" 12.2 million
#4: "300" 12.9 million
#3: "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" 13.2 million
#2: "Happy Feet" 13.5 million
#1: "Transformers" 13.7 million

Simon Furman has once again updated his
blog, this time with many hints and teasers about the upcoming Beast Wars: the Ascending Issue #4, to be released Wednesday the 9th of January.
In his short recap Furman discusses Guido Guidi and his efforts on the art side, after replacing Don Figueroa who left the series at after issue #3, and a brief recap of the issue.
Furman concludes his synopsis with a cryptic clue...
Suffice it to say, the action starts on page 1 and doesn’t stop until page 22. And inbetween there’s triumph, torment and tragedy aplenty. No one is guaranteed to survive (and many don’t) and no happy endings are assured. In fact, as so often happens, the ending is also a beginning. Those who know their Beast Wars will be pleased the final scenes on page 22 (I hope!).
There are spoilers aplenty in this
blog update, especially for those who may have not kept up to date with the series, so consider yourselves forewarned.

Seibertron.com user Windracer has alerted us that Unicron.com has posted some new images of Transformers Animated Bulkhead In-Package. This is the second in-package Voyager figure from the series we've seen this week, along with the Voyager Starscream figure

IESB.net has posted an interview with the
Transformers Movie producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura wherein he states that, baring any delays from the on-going writer's guild strikes in Hollywood, the sequel to the blockbuster
Transformers Movie should begin filming on June 2nd, 2008 - what di Bonaventura calls their "unofficial" start date.
Di Bonaventura goes on to say that director Michael Bay has "designed alot of great stuff already" and has "alot of great sequences imagined".
