Herb Trimpe, artist on Marvel 80's movie and toy franchise comics, The Incredible Hulk (including the first WOLVERINE picture for publication), and of course, early issues of the Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Shogun Warriors, will be attending the Baltimore Comicon on September 27th and 28th.
:
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you all know that long time Marvel artist Herb Trimpe will be attending the Baltimore Comicon on September 27 & 28 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Please come and say hi, get some books signed, and if you have some extra money and would like a sketch, Herb would be happy to oblige.
Herb is widely remembered among Transformers fans for his work on many of the early issues of the original Marvel series.
If you can't make it to Baltimore, Herb is available for commissions and recreations. Just visit www.comicbok-art.com for the price list. (You can also find info on Marvel Transformers writer Bob Budiansky there as well.)
We also have the original artwork to the cover of issue #2 of the Transformers/GI Joe mini-series there for sale as well.
If you live in Baltimore, it's your chance to own a rare piece of Transformers memorabilia, or to get some of your comics signed by this famous contributor to 80's comic books.
The BBC has updated its site with a full report on the happenings that took place at Auto Assembly 2008. It's reported that over £30,000.00 worth of Transformers were purchased or traded over the one day event, which is being called "the largest Transformers fan convention in Europe. "
Simon Plumbe, co-creator of Auto Assembly, spoke with the BBC after the event. Here's what he had to share: "It was absolutely fantastic. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we had a blast doing it. The official attendance record is 423. That's more that any other unlicensed Transformers convention in Europe. We're really very pleased - all the hard work organising it paid off."
Plans for Auto Assembly 2009 are already in the works and Simon and Sven plan to shatter this year's attendance as well.

We have here our first look at live in action video of the new ANIMATED TRANSFORMERS game for the Nintendo DS portable game system, shown at Auto Assembly this weekend.
The video starts out talking about the characters involved showing video clips from the animated show.
Then it moves to showing samples of each character in a side scrolling action. Each character has special abilities they can use that are are shown in the video, like Prime's axe throwing, and grappling hook, and Bumblebee's speed, stinger, and thrusters.
Next you get a look at how the driving portion works with Prowl, Prime examples. It shows how you can transform mid-drive to robot mode, and keep running, jumping, etc., and then transform back to vehicle mode basically without losing much forward momentum at all.
If you're a video gamer, check out this video and see if it helps sell you on this as a purchase when it comes out.
This year's San Diego Comic Con exclusives are the latest figures to get the Seibertron.com gallery treatment. Check out the extensive galleries for the SDCC 2008 exclusives Universe NEMESIS PRIME and Titanium SKYWARP by clicking here.
The time is getting near. Auto Assembly will be a reality this weekend! And with that, Simon Plumbe has another update for the convention. More guests, records to be broken AND the BBC will be on hand to report on the event! Check out what he had to tell us:
We're just FOUR days away from Auto Assembly 2008 and as we promised, we've got yet another couple of last minute announcements to make...
* TWO MORE GUESTS CONFIRMED! *
We have now confirmed two more guests for Auto Assembly 2008 bringing the total to THIRTEEN! We are now being joined by John McCrea and Lee Bradley. John and Lee have both been working on Titan's Transformers comic for some time and John is going to be working on Titan's upcoming Transformers: Animated title. They have both also been working extensively in the comic industry and will be making their Auto Assembly debut.
* PRE-BOOKING DEADLINE IS TONIGHT! *
Don't forget, pre-bookings close TONIGHT so if you haven't already registered, you've got to get your bookings in by 9:00 pm GMT so we can process them and get your booking confirmations out in the post to you tomorrow to ensure that they reach you before the convention.
* NEW EUROPEAN RECORD IMMINENT... *
Bookings have been flying in and we have almost hit the total figure that we had in 2006 and that means just a few more and we have set a NEW European record and we will do this easily from on the door bookings!
* BBC AT AUTO ASSEMBLY 2008 *
It is looking very likely that not only will Auto Assembly 2008 be filmed to be included as a bonus featurette on a DVD, but it now looks as if the BBC will be sending a camera crew to the convention for their Midlands Today programme so expect to see a couple of camera crews around during the day!
Well, we're almost there but who knows what else might happen in the next 48 hours... See you all on Saturday!

Auto Assembly 2008
As always, Seibertronians, keep checking back here for all the latest news from Auto Assembly and the Transformers Universe.
This past weekend on Juli 26th and 27th, the Truckstar Festival 2008 was held at the TT racetrack in Assen, The Netherlands. The event is a showcase for truckers from all over Europe.
One of the events was an Airbrush Competition. The winner was Jan Brandt from Denmark who had his truck paintbrushed in a Transformers movie theme, featuring Optimus Prime. You can see pictures of the event and the Transformers Truck here.
For those who can't make Botcon, SDCC is usually a pretty crucial convention.
Why you may ask? Well, at Botcon they make us promise to not take pictures, basically, so they can use the same slides to impress others at this other future big convention we have gotten to know as SDCC.
So now those who have just been imagining what things like 25th Anniversary G1 Hound with Ravage look like, and that awesome G1 Cyclonus with Nightstick, well you can wonder no more.
Here are the highlights, you can skip them and just check out the Tformers gallery if you would like.
