Transformers Press Releases News on Seibertron.com
As most of you will remember, Seibertron.com recently had a chance to conduct an exclusive interview with Simon Plumbe, organizer of Auto Assembly 2010, Europe's largest annual Transformers convention. During that interview, he made two very special announcements right here first; the availability of single day passes and the identity of the latest special guest. However, Auto Assembly 2010 has now issued the following press releases chock full of additional information.
After countless requests from people wanting to register for Auto Assembly 2010, we have finally released our limited allocation of single day passes for Auto Assembly 2010! Following the success of Auto Assembly 2009 where we set a new European attendance record for a Transformers convention of 501, bookings have been coming in at an astonishing rate for 2010. By 14th March 2010 we were already up to 182 - up from 116 at the same point last year so we are on target to not only shatter this record again but we are quite possibly looking at the convention being a total sell-out!
We are now releasing a limited number of single day tickets for the Saturday and Sunday to enable those of you who can't join us for the full weekend to be able to experience Auto Assembly 2010. We are releasing just 75 tickets for each day and once these have been sold, there will be no more released!
Single day attendees will have the same access to the convention that full weekend attendees do - all the guest panels, dealers, workshops, autograph sessions, activities, and will still get the free goodie bags so you will be able to experience everything that Auto Assembly 2010 has to offer. The only things that you won't have access to is the Friday evening programme, the Saturday night party (which will have the performance by Next Of Kin, the script reading, our cosplay show and more) and there is a possibility that weekend attendees may gain early access to the convention each day.
Details of the programme, and what activities and panels will be taking place on each day can be found on the Auto Assembly website so you can choose what day is best for you. All of our guests are joining us for the full weekend and will be signing all weekend, but will only be on stage for a panel discussion ONCE so if you want to see all the Q&A sessions, then you need to attend for the full weekend!
Because of the venue size, we are restricted to a MAXIMUM of 550 people at the convention per day which can be made up of a combination of weekend and one-day attendees and once we hit that total we will be closing registrations so if you want to attend Europe's largest Transformers convention, hurry and get your tickets now!
We have frozen the prices on these from Auto Assembly 2009 and the one day tickets for either day cost £25 for adults, £18 for children, students or senior citizens and under 5's as always are free. However as they are limited, if you want to come along for just the day then you need to book NOW! Because of the rate that bookings are coming in, and the popularity of the one-day passes last year, we cannot guarantee that single day tickets will be available to purchase on the door.
Full weekend tickets are also on sale through the website for £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145.
The convention is celebrating 10 years of Auto Assembly events and will be taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be AT LEAST eleven guests including three guests of honour (Garry Chalk and Derrick J Wyatt are already confirmed), a massive Saturday evening programme with a party, live band, costume competition and more, toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced!
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk
We hope to see you all in August 2010.

Beyond that exciting news, AA 2010 will also feature the return of special guest Nick Roche!
People have been asking us to bring him back since his debut last year and we are now pleased to announce that IDW artist / writer Nick Roche will be making a welcome return to Auto Assembly 2010 joining our extensive line-up of guests bringing the total to ten!
Nick will be with us for the whole weekend and will be signing autographs and sketching for attendees all weekend and as well as this he will be joining all of our other comic guests on stage for a Q&A session on the Saturday and running a rather special workshop on the Sunday and - as he did last year - he will be joining our voice actors on stage on the Saturday evening taking part in our script reading. So if you want to see everything that Nick will be involved with at the convention, you will need to be with us for the full weekend.

Tickets are selling well for the convention and are £45 for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) are available for £145. Reduced prices are available for the one day passes although these are limited.
Nick joins an extensive line-up off guests including Garry Chalk, Derrick J Wyatt, Simon Furman, Guido Guidi and a host of UK comic guests and the convention will be taking place between Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England. There will be a massive Saturday evening programme with a party, live band, costume competition and more, and during the whole weekend there will be a toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area charting 25 years of Transformers games, free workshops, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced!
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk
We hope to see you all in August 2010.

HASBRO “ROLLS OUT” TRANSFORMERS HALL OF FAME
TRANSFORMERS Fans Will Participate in Selecting One Robot for the Class of 2010
Pawtucket, R.I. (March 26, 2010) — After more than 25 years of “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE” action, Hasbro (NYSE: HAS) is announcing the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame that will honor both “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE” and those influential in creating and building this iconic entertainment brand.
Heroic AUTOBOTS OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE, as well as evil DECEPTICONS MEGATRON and STARSCREAM, will be the first robots honored with admission as chosen by Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame internal panel of judges. TRANSFORMERS fans around the world will determine a fifth robot to join the inaugural class via voting on the Transformers.com website starting on Monday, May 10, 2010. The winning robot will be revealed Saturday night, June 26, 2010 in Orlando, FL at the annual TRANSFORMERS convention known as “BotCon” when the entire Class of 2010 will be officially inducted.
“The TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame celebrates a global entertainment property that has sparked the imagination of millions of kids over the past 26 years and remains one of the world’s most iconic brands,” said Greg Lombardo, senior director of marketing for TRANSFORMERS. “Starting in 2010, Hasbro will annually honor fans’ most-loved characters from the world of CYBERTRON as well as those individuals who have helped shape a brand that has spawned an army of popular action figures, multiple animated series and two blockbuster live action movies that set worldwide box office records.”
First introduced in 1984 by Hasbro and Takara as a toy line, the TRANSFORMERS brand
has provided kids with hours of MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE fun with their action figures that convert from robot to vehicles and back again. Legions of boys around the world grew up creating fantastic adventures and battles set on both the planet CYBERTRON and Earth that featured the “good-guy” AUTOBOTS and the “bad-guy” DECEPTICONS. Since then, more than 7500 robots have been introduced and are now eligible to earn a slot in the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame’s inaugural class.

IDW Becomes Premier Publisher
Thursday, Mar 18th, 2010
First publisher to achieve higher status with Diamond since 1996;
Diamond and IDW strengthen their exclusive distribution relationship with new agreement and initiatives
(BALTIMORE, MD) - (March 18, 2010) - Diamond Comic Distributors and IDW Publishing announced today that IDW has become the first publisher to advance to "premier" status since the classification was implemented in 1996. Diamond and IDW have signed a new, multi-year agreement that features a number of fresh initiatives, including premier status, in recognition of IDW's success as a top tier comic book and graphic novel publisher. Under the agreement, Diamond will continue to be the exclusive distributor of IDW comic books and graphic novels to the comic book specialty market, and to the bookstore market through its Diamond Book Distributors division.
"This change recognizes the growth and importance of IDW Publishing," said Diamond President and CEO, Steve Geppi, "and we look forward to working with them for many years to come."
Diamond VP Purchasing Bill Schanes added, "Since IDW began publishing, they have grown consistently each and every year, while at the same time establishing one of the best editorial, marketing, and business teams in our industry. They're easy to work with, understand our market, and are forging ahead with new strategies and plans to grow the consumer appetite for comics and graphic novels."
IDW is of course the publisher of Transformers comics here in the US, not to mention other popular titles like G.I. Joe, Star Trek, Dr. Who and CSI. To read the entire press release, click here.

This week an 'anonymous friend' of Seibertron.com informed us that he received two e-mails regarding 'actors' needed for parts for the Transformers 3 live action movie scheduled to hit production/filming soon.
Our friend’s two e-mails listed the 'casting call' first as an unidentified movie, but then the second seemed to be made more specific, directly stating it was for Transformers 3. His theory for the second e-mail with the ACTUAL movie listing-- not enough folks responded with interest toward the first e-mail--.
Now, unfortunately it seems the parts the actors were to play were simply to model wardrobe and such for the movie for pictures, but it was stated that each actor would be seen by the director, so ‘you’ may have had a chance to parlay this into something more.
The response for this event has closed, and it was supposed to actually be 'performed' on THURSDAY. However, it is good to know that things are moving forward and that we do have a few clues about the human element of the movie: more military men of all ethnicities, 18-35 years old. Another interesting note though is that they listed a separate 'casting call' for military men who are also of Iranian/Middle Eastern descent.
You can see the e-mailed versions of the casting call below:
We hope to bring you more filming and casting information as soon as it becomes available. Thanks to Seibertron's 'anonymous source' for keeping us informed!
