Apparently Transformers has sold
really well since June. In just about 2 months worth of time since the toys were released, they have sold around 3 million units!
This has put HASBRO in a very favorable frame of mind for the second movie possibilities...
"'Transformers' has been a unique box office success. Our U.S. retail sales of [the new] Transformers toys have exceeded our expectations with 3 million units sold since the launch," Hasbro CEO Alfred Verrecchia said during a conference call with analysts to discuss the company's results.
Hasbro's "Transfomers" movie-related toys boosted the toymaker's profits and sales in the second quarter.
"It's too soon to say if there's a 'Transformers 2.' No date has been set as yet, but a second movie is possible," Verrecchia said.
Exceeeding expectations...Great job folks! We collectors are over-achievers now! I knew we had it in us.

Brian Savage from Master Collector just sent the following message to either Botcon attendees or Transformers Collector's Club members:
Hello!
I know that this is a question all attendees are asking...
Question: How will the souvenir sales work this year? I know these items are very limited and hard to get.
Answer: As in past years, there are two souvenir figure packs and a new display accessory. Each souvenir figure pack contains two figures. There will also be several different memorabilia items available.
All Primus, Protoform and Dealers (booth holders) will be able to purchase one set of each souvenir two pack starting Thursday night through Friday night (only one set each, Dealers limited to one set per booth). On Saturday morning any person with a badge will able to purchase a set of each two pack, while supplies last. This will be limited to one set per each time you go through the line. The sales will open at 8:30 am on Saturday but you can line up at anytime.
On Thursday and Friday, you must be wearing your badge to purchase these limited edition items. On Saturday, sales will be open to any General Admission attendees (provided there are any still available at General Admission entry time).
Thanks for your support. See you next week!
Brian
PS. The schedule is up at BotCon.com
