What does the crew have to say about head molds? What did we say about the color schemes of this year's figures? What are our thoughts on molds used? Tune into the Twincast to find out!
Next up, we discuss the registration process. Find out our thoughts as well as listen in to find out who's going to the customizing class and what we think the figure may be.
Next, we discuss the recently revealed Transformers: Prime toys, although our full coverage of the main line will be in a future show.
Be sure to check out our full coverage of the UK launch of the main line, as well!
Finally, we discuss something very important out in the real world: SOPA and PIPA. On Wednesday, January 18th, 2012, Seibertron.com and many other large websites, including Reddit and Wikipedia, took part in a massive blackout to protest the US Goverment's proposed censorship and anti-piracy laws. See more about the topic in our extensive article. If you aren't familiar with these pieces of legislation, we recommend a few minutes of reading on these topics that could threaten your civil liberties!
We wrap up with some light-hearted bragging rights!

12-Issue digital-exclusive series comes to iPad, iPhone, Android and the Web courtesy of writers Chris Metzen & Flint Dille
San Diego, CA (January 18, 2012) – IDW Publishing proudly announces a new digital comics event five million years in the making: TRANSFORMERS: Autocracy. Released exclusively on digital platforms, this 12-part series will be released on multiple digital platforms as 8-page chapters every two weeks starting January 18th and running through June. Each episode will be priced at 99¢.
TRANSFORMERS: Autocracy has ties to the two new TRANSFORMERS comics series based on the iconic TRANSFORMERS brand from Hasbro and launching this month, Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye. “Those series look to the future,” said IDW Senior Editor John Barber, “but they have strong ties to the past. And Autocracy fills in some of the gaps in that past by telling one of the most important stories to ever appear in TRANSFORMERS comics.”
Before OPTIMUS became a PRIME... he fought for order. Before MEGATRON became a conqueror... he fought for freedom. Before they were enemies... they stood against — AUTOCRACY.
Autocracy features the stunning TRANSFORMERS writing debut of Chris Metzen – SVP, Story and Franchise Development at Blizzard Entertainment and one of the main creative minds behind the company’s Warcraft®, StarCraft®, and Diablo® universes. Metzen is joined by co-writer Flint Dille, a fan-favorite for his work on the original TRANSFORMERS animated series.
“This project is a dream come true for me,” said Metzen. “I’ve loved the TRANSFORMERS brand all my life – and the chance to take these characters for a drive with my good friend Flint has been an incredible privilege. But I think it’s Livio Ramondelli’s gritty, cinematic vision that really brings this story to life.”
Artist Livio Ramondelli came to fans’ attention last year with the world-shattering TRANSFORMERS: Chaos series. “I feel beyond thankful to be a part of this project,” said Ramondelli. “These two have written a truly epic TRANSFORMERS story for the ages. I can’t say enough good things about Chris Metzen, and we should all feel lucky that Flint Dille is returning to TRANSFORMERS.”
“IDW is very excited to launch this digital-exclusive series,” said IDW CEO and Publisher Ted Adams. “The TRANSFORMERS brand has a broad international fan-base, this series will continue to increase the comics audience.” The Autocracy series will help bring these new readers to comic shops, by including a page featuring the Comic Shop Locator service and best-selling TRANSFORMERS collections and comics.
Autocracy can be found in IDW’s Apple iPad™, iPhone® and iPod touch®, apps – Transformers Comics and IDW Comics, and on the Web at read.idwpublishing.com. The series is also featured in the Comics by comiXology platform for iOS, Android, Web and Kindle Fire, and Comics + by iVerse.

For review today, I have the first issue of a new series from IDW called Transformers: Autocracy. Co-Written by former G1 writer Flint Dille and by Transformers newcomer Chris Metzen (VP of Blizzard Entertainment) with art by Livio Ramondelli (of Transformers Chaos fame) this series is going to be distributed bi-weekly over the likes of 24 weeks and is IDW’s first fully DIGITAL ONLY comic.
Taking place before the actual war between Autobots and Decepticons, this issue focuses on Orion Pax before he was Optimus Prime, directly following and continuing the flashback events in issue number 23 of Ongoing. The main events of this story follow Pax leading a group of familiar Autobots into a very downtrodden territory in Cybertron searching for civilian terrorist cells and an arms dealer who's providing them with stolen government armaments.
The story is dark, violent, and it seems to be providing more reasons for the Cybertronian masses that return in ‘Death of Optimus Prime’ to be wary and very spiteful toward the Autobots. The story looks promising, even if it is a bit disturbing that the deep, reflective Orion Pax that made an entire meeting of senators take notice and think, seems to have turned into a nasty, unthinking warrior with a new large empty space in his chest. Hmm... I’m sure there is a point to this Jekyll and Hyde Pax. I should probably cut the two accomplished writers a break with this and assume there’s good reason.
This first story really sets the tone for the series and as an Autobot fan, I feel like I am going to be disappointed with just how much my peace loving heroes are revealed to have done that is less than moral. Like pounding Swindle’s face in... Wha??? Sniping a terrorist cell leader.. boom, headshot! Yeah, I’m not sure, but hoping for the best for my Autobot allies. I’m also not sure how much more of this I can take without some more connection to the greater good, and more reflection from the good guys on their actions being the only option and leading to guilt or tough feelings, hindrances next time in the field. Thank Primus for Bumblebee’s vision, and heart...(can’t believe I just said that, but at least Bumblebee gets it) although he snipes one moment and then grows a conscience the next. #readingtoomuchintothisright?
The art is at as it has been with Livio on Transformers Chaos; you like it, love it, or you at least put up with it--which is the camp I’m in. His style hasn't really changed since we last saw his work, it’s still very realistically stylized and takes some liberties assuming we know what is happening in panels, but it is still very original and sure to make those who wondered where Botcon’s 1st announced guest would turn up again satisfied.
Being IDW's first digital comic, this prequel is worth picking up and at only $.99 I say go for it. Although it’s only 8 pages of story, it packs a lot into 8 pages...an interesting new format for presenting to us. With the way this issue is continuing to give us more background on things that were established during Chaos Theory, IDW TF followers, it seems this is a must buy for you. To repeat myself, it is certainly giving us more historical aspects that drive current story, so it to me is a must read, not just a meaningless mini which honestly IDW has not done much of with their G1 universe.
Short and sweet.. spend a buck, get an exciting story, and a piece of history.
*Pardon my edits please, typing with a broken finger in my hand. Thanks, good bots.*

Seibertron.com is first and foremost a Transformers-themed website dedicated to, staffed, and fuelled by fans of the Transformers franchise. Over the past 12 years we have been active, we have tried to avoid politics and too much involvement with the outside world as our interest is in the war on Cybertron and its universe beyond, not in domestic policy and law, so when we do decide to get involved please understand that it's over what we feel is a matter of great importance.
I have not written anything like this before and have borrowed very heavily from Tom's Hardware's post on the subject as it is by far the best bulletin I have seen to date, relating directly to real world examples of posters actions. This article is here to inform you about a couple of scary bills that could end Seibertron.com and the Internet we all know and love. SOPA is a bill in the House (and PIPA is it's Senate equivalent) that threatens to fundamentally change the way the internet works by placing excessive restrictions on user generated content such as forum posts and video and image uploads.
The intention of this topic is to cover 4 points:
To explain and examine the bills
To highlight the extent of the damage they can do to Seibertron.com (as well as the Internet)
What our members can do to help stop this.
To give a sense of urgency to the situation. PIPA is up for review on Jan 24th so we don't have much time.
The basics of the law are:
It would require web services like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter to monitor and aggressively filter everything all users upload.
It would deny site owners due process of law, by initiating a DNS blacklisting based solely on a good faith assertion by an individual copyright or intellectual property owner.
It would give the U.S. government the power to selectively censor the web using techniques similar to those used in China, Malaysia and Iran. The Great Firewall of China is an example of this type of embedded, infrastructural internet censorship.
Spricket24 from YouTube gives a good summary of the problems we face (6+ min)
And a more detailed view is registered by John "TotalBiscuit" Bain, and is the most watched video on the subject on YouTube (20+ min)
Now lets look at an example that applies directly to us here at Seibertron.com. Imagine one of our fellow Seibertronians posts a video clip here on our message board of a step-by-step review of a brand new figure. Playing in the background behind the voice-over is "The Touch" by Stan Bush. The studio representing Stan Bush could issue a complaint, without being required to notify us or request a take-down. Seibertron.com would be liable and prosecuted solely on a good faith assertion of the copyright owner, without notification, with the site operators subject to possible jail time for not preventing the video from being posted. In short order, the / domain in the United States would no longer resolve to our servers and visitors attempting to come to Seibertron.com would be redirected to a “This site under review for piracy/copyright violations” page. Now apply the same principle to the character designs and their likenesses used in your avatars and sigs, the Heavy Metal War altmodes, TransTopia figure photographs, Mosiac comics and more.
To conform to these new restrictions would mean that Seibertron.com would have to switch to a review/approval process for any and all new posts to our forums and articles. Our community team would have to approve every single news comment, every new thread, and every new response before it went live and filter them for potentially infringing material. Even so, we would still possibly be under threat from violations not caught – a user recolouring an image from a Marvel/DW/IDW comic as an example or a snippet of Transformers news from another website in excess of a certain summary threshold. That’s just here on Seibertron. The effect on sites like YouTube, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and the rest of the internet would be devastating, and these popular sites would simply disappear.
The intent of the legislation is to stop piracy, which isn’t affected in the least by this approach. Unfortunately the legislation in the House and Senate has a wide margin of bi-partisan support and looks likely to pass after the holidays. Believe it or not, your Congress representatives do count the number of calls and emails they get on a particular issue, and most of the time only the people in their jurisdiction (read- you) can sway their opinion on something – so your action on this is important.
The Center for Democracy and Technology have released this .pdf as a guide to the key points of contention within this bill. We ask that as many of you as possible read this and then contact your representatives and tell them you oppose the PROTECT IP Act in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House. This act wont stop itself, the internet needs people to take action if it is to remain the free global resource it is today. If you wish to know more about this issue, it is recommended that you visit the Protect Innovation project where you can go into more depth on the issue and download a 'briefing kit' that contains, in detail, the opposition to this bill. Please also be sure to hit the Share buttons at the top of your page to tell your friends about this on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter... whilst you still can.
Here are some links to websites actively actively engaging poeple to help stop SOPA:
The problem is, that whilst the most relevant issue to us is discussed, there are many others that probably need to be addressed in the conversation such as this, Newgrounds explaining in more direct language how DCMA Blacklisting will work, sharing the public copy of the letter to the Senate and House from AOL, eBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo! and Zynga outlining their concerns and opposition to this bill and maybe even 25 things you need to know about SOPA?
