This is probably the wrongthread, but I couldn't find where else. I dont know why everyone hates the newish micromaster so much, I was impressed by the extra step of engineering in 2 of them. Most of them even have a waist swivel, a headswivel, or both! The weapon modes suck but because of them they all have 5 mm ports, which are always fun.

I only wanted the ones that go together in the same package. And I think Hasbro did a bad job of both selection and distribution. I don't really have a problem with their design per se.

I never collected the original micromasters, so I wasn't into the new ones. However, I do wish for the fans that wanted them that all the OG ones would have been remade. Also, incorporating Soundwave and Blasters minions as Micromasters again, left a lot undone.

I got a few that came with other TF sets. Most are ok. The 2 that came with Haab Victory Saber can't transform without falling apart. The fact that Hasbro is making 2 new molded Micromasters for Haslab Deathsaurus shows there may be potential to finish them at some point down the line.

Yeah, their size makes it quite difficult to get the tolerances consistently right. I'm happy they're not translucent plastic like the PCC Mini-Cons...

Well I really like the galactic odessy six pack micromasters, impressed by the extra step of complexity in roadburner and barricade's legs.

I thankfully found a trick for the Stakeout mold to help the legs not pop off just by moving: if you take the entire figure apart at the screw at the torso, and shave the area above the hips down, it goes some way to letting the hips work.

I really think the Micromasters needed better. they were just too... simple isn't the right word, just lacking in quality for what they were supposed to be

That's what everyone keeps saying, but what do you mean? They seem better than I expected, even including waist swivels and 5mm pegs!

For one thing, they feel so light and feathery. It is most noticeable in the wheels, the originals were more hot wheels-esque, so they could roll around real well. These ones just do not like to roll anywhere.

i would have far preferred a hinge for each elbow instead of a waist, which was only thrown in for the gun modes.

The weapon mode necessity also meant that more unique transformations or designs weren't used, leading to an air of sameness among all the micros, and leaving many teams incomplete. The fact that Deathsaurus is helping complete I think only the 2nd full team is really sad in that regard.

I can see what you mean with the rolling. But the silly gun modes did give us waist swivels and 5mm pegs so they can be fake minicons.I wish we got the teams complete though.

Normally yes. But the clear indication is if the label sticker that close the brown box is torn/cut or not.

Well during a manic episode earlier this week, realized I regretted not picking up Doubledealer so popped over to eBay and found a brand new sealed for original MSRP! He came in the mail yesterday

IMG_5843.JPG

He's pretty good. I like how many accessories you get and the relative chonk factor. Makes me want to get ahold of Knok and Skar just for completions sake, so let me know if any y'all have a source or are down to trade! My only issue so far is that some of his leg joints are a lil loose, so that'll be the first thing I fix this weekend as well as add some extra paint apps to bring out all the wonderful detail he has.

Also, did anyone else find that the tailgate ramp thing that ports on the back in Missle Carrier mode needs to be detached and flipped around so that it folds UP instead of just hovering out there??

You'll have to hunt down the Selects cassettes 4 pack to get DD's minions.

Very nice, he was probably my favorite figure from Earthrise, I love that toy.

Knok and Skar are going to be hard finds I'm afraid, I wish you luck!

Frenzy (officially; blue Rumble if you prefer) and Wingthing (orange Ratbat).

That's quite the oooof price, but we're already some years later so it could've been worse.

Actually I immediately checked Tfsource, bbts and showz none of which seem to have it in stock, HOWever back over on eBay you can find a sealed set of all four for $40 bucks, which just seems a little Reich specially when I'm only really after two of them. But maybe I could divide them with one of my friends who just got into collecting and wouldn't mind a couple cute lil tape dudes

If you don't care about Soundwave's minions, that's the best course of action.

So, I'm very much enjoying Dirge, glad the Legacy Evolution line made it actually possible to get hold of him; AFAIC he was an unreleased toy until this year. He's pretty slick, and it's good to have one that actually fits in size-wise. I need to take some comparison pics with the Generations version - and of this version with Generations Dirge's launchers.

Image
That being said, it seems clear the Coneheads' new leg panels weren't properly fit-checked for jet mode. Perhaps the worst part about this is that the flight stand port is blocked (unless you have the panels hanging down really awkwardly). And of course there's no replacement panels or flight stand adapter from 3P... The only offerings for the Coneheads are Ramjet's weapons, Ramjet's weapons recolored and marketed for Dirge (Even though Dirge's weapons are completely different), and Thrust's G1 toy launchers (with the small missiles)... except mistakenly marketed for Dirge instead, half the time. Honestly, the default ER Seeker guns are closer to Dirge's weapons than any of the 3P offerings.

Image
I've also finally gotten my hands on an Earthrise Sunstreaker. He's missing one foot, but I believe I'll be able to handcraft a replacement. And I got him for a semi-reasonable price.

He and Trailbreaker seriously need a reissue.

Trailbreaker was pretty common not too long ago. And here it is, selling for over 60$US!

It is rumored that Sunstreaker may have a SS86 release. Not sure if it will be the same toy as ER, a remold of ER, or an entirely new mold.

It's too bad Takara didn't consider a set of like 3 :BOT: including Sunstreaker giving him a much needed coat of paint better than what we were given.

And Double D was a great figure to come out of the Earthrise line IMO :VEHI:

I know I said this before we had substantial word about the dead Prowl & Ironhide release, but I’m still surprised Hastak didn’t make a Buzzworthy SS86 2-pack with Sunstreaker & Hound.
I’m assuming the new listing for Sunstreaker is legit; we’ll see if it involves any retooling or a new mold. But I’m confident Hastak has realized that character needs another release.
Pairing this figure with Hound would’ve helped ensure that Hound was released.
Imo, it’s kind of ridiculous that Ditritus was released first, when the mold used was clearly intended for Hound.
