I like Leader Megatron as well, but to me the best mold is the Rodimus/Sideswipe/Breakdown mold followed by Prowl.

As much as I like Hot Rod, an you know I do, I think at least Lockdown and Megs are better than him. May be a tossup with Grimlock though.

I have Samurai Prowl, and he's not quite as good there.

I do love that rodimus mold, can't wait to have all 3 uses of it.

Leader Megs is super fun, to me, he is easily the best Con of Animated.

Animated is one of the 3 areas of my collection I'd like to focus on this year. Outside of a couple retail figures, I am mostly after exclusive ones, to get as close to completing the collection as I can

Outside the botcon stuff, how many Exclusives were there for Animated? Are you including the Japanese releases of Jet Wing Prime and the Hydrofire Bee?

I'm including some Takara-only releases yes.

Botcon Wise, I already have Sideswipe, but I'd like to attempt to find the rest.

Takara wise, Blackout is a goal, and if I can get Hydro Bee and Wingblade Prime I want those 2 too.

Retail wise, it's Waspinator and swindle for sure, but I might also go after the fast action battler and voyager repaints to have a seeker set, but I'm not sure about those yet. and I might go after Leader Bulkhead and deluxe Prime.

I don't want to have multiples of characters, I'd like a nice cast

I can get behind that, I actually really like the Deluxe prime mode (earth mode) but I wasn't that bothered by the face maskless Cybertron mode version when I had him.

Blackout would be an animated grail for me.

I would love a deluxe Prime so he has a proper axe and can hold it with 2 hands, would be pretty sweet.

I have a track on a Blackout and Cheetor, it'll just be whenever my buddy starts going through the storage bin where they are at.

I also have a track on the Stunticons, waiting on that one a little bit until my birthday.

Jackpot, Fisitron, and the Autotroopers don't seem particularly difficult to find for a decent price either.

Only 2 of the Botcon ones that might cause trouble are Toxitron and Minerva, both of those are asinine expensive.

And then there's the challenge of finding a non-broken Swindle. and I haven't gotten Waspinator only because I haven't found one at a price I'd pay yet. Don't really want to spend $40 for either him or Swindle

Swindle sometimes crops on the British ebay, but I can't remember what he goes for now. I'm still sore that the old toy shop got him in but went just as quick

I'm seeing him for around $40-60 USD right now, which is more than I'd like to pay for him.

I just gotta be patient, and keep a good eye on my preorder tracking sheet to find a good time to find some of this stuff.

I think, outside of the Stunticons, Jackpot might be the next Animated figure I get. I didn't realize until very recently that his headsculpt is brand new and I adore it

yep, Jazz retool! I think the Jazz mold was used 4 times: Jazz, Freeway Jazz AKA movie Jazz (hmmm, might want that one), Dead End (I think that Stunticon?), and Jackpot.

Would be interesting for my first ever Jackpot toy to be the Animated one

The fact that there is no Animated Slipstream outside of the Legends one that was retooled from Windblade is a travesty

I could see them arguing that making Slipstream back then would have been too much because of retooling. I'm just glad she stuck around to re-appear in fiction.

So thanks to our own Rodimus Prime, I have secured an awesome set: the Animated Stunticons!

this is an awesome set. I already own all 5 of the molds, but this set gives them all such a new and different spin that they still feel new and wonderful. Dead End is probably my favorite, partially due to my Dead End bias, but also because he uses the wonderful Jazz mold and is a great repaint. Dragstrip works so surprisingly well, I love her! Motormasters colors are really sharp and the head is perfect. Breakdown is nicely colored, and Wildrider (my first Wildrider too) has an awesome head.

Overall, it's a rocking experience. I have set the goal of focusing on finishing my Animated collection, There are a bunch of things to get on my quest for a nice character representation, but I think I can get there!

You know, I had the Stunticons for almost 10 years and I rarely had them out of the box. I never noticed how tall Wildrider is. He's taller than Motormaster. Could you take a pic of him next to leader Megatron? I'm guessing they're practically the same height. And they're both mainly gray.

If you look in the group pic, wildrider is next to leader Megs, there's a head and a bit between them. The Deluxe Lockdown mold is brilliant for that, as long as you don't mind tall and lanky  definitely not got the mass though

I see now. Thank you. I totally skipped over that shot, too many bots in it.

Oh I get, I did too till you mentioned it but I remembered seeing one of the other Stunticons so I went back and spotted them close together.

I love how tall that Lockdown mold is, it is a sign that classes were price and not size classes. I love these Stunticons so much!
