Grimlock does not look good, eesh.

Starscream looks on par for the Prime guys. I hope he's more Optimus than the rest, but I doubt it unfortunately

Anyone care to share opinions on Galvatron and Shockwave? I see those 2 at Wal-Mart every time I go, and I'm tempted to purchase them to take the places of Siege Shocky and Legacy Galvatron. They just need to be comparable in size to Optimus and Megatron.

Your Walmart still has RED figures? My local stores stopped stocking them in the winter and removed the tags with the last reset in February, they were replaced by those weird x-ray plush things. Somebody on the last Twincast Podcast said they found a surprise Shockwave at their store and when they scanned it it was half off.

I never saw Shockwave or Galvatron in store so I can't actually answer your question.

They're not online anymore either on walmart's website.

Well my Wal-Mart is notorious for dragging their feet. I said in the SS86 thread, they still have Slag and Grindor as well. But yes, RED Shockwave, Galvatron and scanned Megatron are all still there, a few copies of each.

Personally I think Legacy Galvatron is too big for my collection, he should be a voyager in line with Prime or Megatron, so I'm trying to find a suitable replacement. So far it's either the TR voyager or the RED figure.

I'd go with the TR voyager with the upgrade kit that give him his proper helmet. I guess he'll be just right.

of the dozen or so Walmart's I can drive to, I was actually shocked about a couple weeks ago I saw a whole peg full of RED Shockwave & Galvatron at one store, albeit not in the TF section but in the adult collectable section for some reason... I hadn't seen any in months, and certainly not any of the newer closed box ones. My gut tells me this was old stock that was just never put out, and since there was no place for it on the plan-o-gram anymore, they just put it *wherever*.

I know in the rest of the world, RED are not WM exclusives, but if WM in the U.S. isn't carrying them, how are U.S. fans supposed to get them? I guess it could be like Kre-o, which was a TRU exclusive in the previous decade, but when TRU stopped carrying them in the U.S.; in order to obtain 2015/2016 product you had to get it via eBay (since Canadian TRU still had them), or hope to find them at Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross etc...

I don't have either, but based on the 4 I do have, AVOID.

Plastic quality is really bad, the things are gummy, limiting in posing, difficult to keep a pose, very pliable, and do not feel good in hand

Ouch. That kinda confirms the vibe I was getting from handling Shockwave in the box. Galvatron seemed more solid, I guess? But if they really are like that, then definitely pass. Especially for $25. Thanks.

Well we've seen this before. You were around for The Last Knight toyline right? Most Walmart exclusives were never released at Walmart.

So fans found them a year later at Ross:

Same thing will happen here, if exclusives are never made available at Walmart.

^ That's pretty much what I said in the last sentence of my post. It may happen, but its never a guaranty they show up at those discount stores. I'm glad I never was in on this line, it would be a real pain to have to track down the newer ones. I still dont understand why they are still making them.

Because they sell. And pretty well too.

My Walmart never had those RED on shelves often, but when they bothered having some stock, they sold out pretty quickly.

The point is they literally aren't selling, they're no longer listed online and they removed the tags in stores in the US. At best they'll be available in limited numbers on Pulse and then who knows where after that.

I have to agree. I have coronation Starscream and was set to really like it for what it is, then I saw one of the alternate hands had its fingers melted together. It was the hand that was supposed to have the fingers splayed for that one pose you do when Starscream is wearing the cape and crown.

Maybe that's true in your area, but over here those are hot items for some reasons.

Then maybe this'll be a Canada only thing when it comes to normal retail and discount stores in the US.

The margins are insane on these. No need for Takara to get involved, half the parts/molding cost for the same price, and a guaranteed buyer of all your product under the guise of a retailer exclusive.
