He's dinkier than Bumblebee now, but at the time of release in the TR line, both Brawn and Bumblebee were the same height, just like in G1

I will hold out hope, but I would say almost every strong female character from Cyberverse falls into this list, and a lot of other Cyberverse characters fall into this too.

Is it too much to ask for a nice Shadow striker, or even a Perceptor in general? How about a good Volcanicus? And then there is the matter of Wheeljack... all kinds of options there.

Also, while we are at it: Can we get a good, accurate, Prime Knockout?

ooouuuu, Prime Knock Out, now there's a good one. Airachnid is always the go to from that lne because Knock Out doesn't have terrible toys. But yeah, for a character who has now appeared in lots of different media and storylines, he doesn't have a toy acurate to his original look.
And yes, I too would like a Cyberverse deluxe wheeljack and Shadow Striker.

Perceptor is very G1y in Cyberverse so while not a perfect match, lots of toys work for him. Same for Windblade, the RID toy works well as a representation of her in Cyberverse.

Just looking at Cyberverse though, it's nuts how Hot Rod is extreamly present in that whole line and yet doesn't have a good toy.

Cyberverse had a lot of interesting characters and designs that didn't get the best toys, like Shadow Striker, Clobber, and Wheeljack, and even the generic Sharkticons could have been handled better. As a kid, I shied away from action figures that were too gimmicky because it limited the amount of ways you could play with them, which seems to be a mindset that has stayed with me as a collector. Personally, though, I do like the Build-a-Figure Hot Rod after a few extra paint touches.

In the larger vein of "never got a good toy," though, I'd still like to see a G1 Arcee that's actually a car that turns into a lady robot and not a pink mannequin that fold up under a car shell. TFA Arcee is, to me, still the best Arcee figure in terms of accomplishing this, and I'm hoping that the gradual trend away from "perfectly proportioned" women robot characters (with Clobber being a great example) leads to something better.

ya know, thinking about Cyberverse Volcanicus, a couple other characters that need better toys?

The RiD2015 combiners.

I loved those 3 designs, and they do need some better, actually posable toys

Exactly. The wings of a much larger cargo plane would easily shift to being the hull of a carrier.

Because, that "jet" mode, just doesn't work. There isn't enough suspension of disbelief in the world for it to be acceptable.

I still think the jet mode could've worked if they just put more effort into the legs transforming. Have them flip over the top to become Jetfire style boosters and you're good to go. They just got lazy in the end.

Nemesis Reformatted wrote:The DELUXE Insecticons. I wouldn't say the G1 toys were "good" just adequate for their time. They're still bricks.

The Fansproject set were just repaints & ignored Venom.

The CW/TR Chop Shop sucked & was just a tiny crappy repaint/retool.

The deluxe Insecticons are #1 on my want list. :-(

Beet-Papil is one of those concepts I REALLY wish got ported into Transformers at some point (to the extent I made a rather dodgy custom out of a broken T30 Skrapnel). I even have a good idea for how she could be portrayed.

CHERRYBOMB

Function: Insecticon Botanist.

Motto: "Nothing tastes so sweet as the grapes of wrath."

Unlike her fellow Insecticons, Cherrybomb is more interested in the cultivation and study of organic plant matter than its consumption, and is a keen gardener and collector of alien flora. Of course, her favourite species are invariably the ones that can be weaponized. From the cybernecrotic poison of Deadly Nitroshade from Eukaris, to the snapping maws of Venus Bot-Traps (which have to be "watered" with sulphuric acid) to the explosive fruits of the Chaar Frag-Apple Tree, if it can be used to maim, kill and destroy there's a very good chance she's grown it in her garden back at the Insecticon hive-base. Indeed, most of her weapons are derived from her specimens, and her primary armament is a machine gun that fires quick-growing Borax Bindweed seeds, which constrict and corrode metallic objects as they sprout within seconds. In ladybird beetle mode, she is much stronger and more resilient than her small size would suggest, and is also a surprisingly elegant flier. Her greatest weakness is an overprotective outlook towards her plants; she is prone to get very upset if they are harmed in any way, which is rather counterproductive due to their use as weapons. She also functions very poorly in extremes of temperature due to an outmoded thermal regulator.

Can't say they haven't been trying: Chop Shop, TR Roadburn aka Chase aka mis-colored Searchlight, then there's the unused alternate head of CW Bombshell. To my surprise, that turned out to be Venom, and not the logical Barrage.

Hmph. I won't give them SIEGE Apeface, SIEGE Apeface is a lovely figure and does a bang-up job retaining

Btw, why did you mention Cybertron Lugnutz earlier? Overhaul I'd have expected (at least, as Overhaul), but not him.

About TR Broadside: Yeah, a transport plane would mesh better with an aircraft carrier... but the 1986 designer went with "fighter plane" (probably to differ from Octane), and so such is any Broadside that aims to be G1's cross to bear.

The sad thing is, as shown by a certain fan mode + minor modification (and a 3P accessory made to go with, if you want it solid)... all TR Broadside's jet mode needed to be passable was swapping which way 'round the tailfins are attached, and an additional tab and socket to let the legs lock together in the fan mode's position natively.

Easy answer: Age of Extinction Galvatron (at least not officially). Not that we can blame HasTak on that one, would be impossible to do outside of the MP level. That one is to be blamed on a design artist who should count themselves lucky the toy designers didn't drag them into a dark alley.

I agree about the Deluxe Insecticons.

1. The problem there is that even with the trend away from "perfectly proportioned".... G1 Arcee is still stuck with the fact that Floron the Moron Dery gave her human-style legs (speaking of crosses to bear). Notice what Animated Arcee threw out the window? In that, G1 Arcee has it worse than the TSfAT ladies, especially since there's little trace of vehicle mode kibble on her legs.
2. T30 Arcee at least fulfills that in part. She at least integrates the legs and chest.

Armada Hot Shot. Both versions of the character were terrible, and the one good one we were going to get in Transformers Animated never got beyond Prototype stage.
